Christoff was until last year, and Juan until 2010, but he sadly died recently

The family wasn't keen on making the details of his death public, but I think he committed sucide after his girlfriend or fiancee' broke up with him. He left a note saying he couldn't live without her. It's sad. RIP Juan.

Venter is not a sprinter, he is a short tour rider (preferably one with a tt in it) he finished 3rd or 4th at the tour de l'avnir a few years ago and won the elite TT champs in SA 2/3 years ago. While racing at Pro Conti Verandas Willems Team last year and Team Differdange this year, he never really found his feet and has returned to MTN where he had all his previous success... personally think it is best option for him.

Got a few meetings today but afterwards ill do a very short and basic irl profile of each mtn rider... maybe it'll help to determine who is what type of rider for those that dont know yet. |

Here is a brief summary on all the mtn riders.
Reinardt jv Rensburg
South Africa's Peter Sagan, he has a really good sprint but can also get over most hills. He can put together a solid tt performance too making him lethal in week long stage races without big mountains.
Arran Brown
South Africa's Gerald Ciolek, has a lot of promise and speed to go with it but just hasn't delivered as of yet internationally. Locally his closest competition in the sprint comes in the form of Nolan Hoffman (WC Track silver medalist) or his own lead out man Reinardt.
Dennis van Niekerk and Jaques jv Rensburg
Kind of like Robert Gesink's, have the potential to be a grand tour rider but have yet to prove their once off Lankawi and Eritrea performance's were no a flukes. They can certainly climb high up into the mountains but both just lack that consistency. TT's are also a slight drawback for both but Jaques has great bike handling ability while dennis has a good turn of speed as well... he is normally 2nd last rider before the sprinter (Arran) in MTN'S leadout.
Martin Wesseman, Brad Potgieter, Petrus Lotto
Jens Voigt has 3 clones right here, all riders are real big diesel engines and will ride on front all day long. if they are in a break, they will fight till the death to make sure it stays away as they dont get too many chances to win bike races otherwise.
Jaco Venter
Is kind of like a Michael Rogers, he can time trial and he can climb but... not in a 3 week race, if given the chance and everything falls into place he could be a Paris-Nice type of winner one day.
Jim Songezo
Another Amets Txurreka... this boy should be in the euskatel team... he can climb and thats about it, youll find him in breakaways on stages with some serious climbing. he is very young though and there is a real hope that hell become more of a complete rider as he gets older.
Jani Tewelde
The guy can sprint from small groups and can get over the hills to be there too, a huge talent as well and is being moulded into another Reinardt.
Adrien Niyonshuti
He can climb pretty well and so in small stage races he can perform well in the gc but mtn has used his big engine to also ride on the front and keep dangerous breaks in check to good effect.
Meron Russom
The fella climbs anything under 8-10km's really well and then knows how to sit on a tt bike too... Stage races with a tt will suit him best. Also, he is a fighter and will even get involved in the sprints... kind of a like a Nicolas Roche rider but jus has a better tt.
Freqalsi Debesay
He rides a good tt and fights hard to stay in contention going over the hills... short stage races with not too many hills suit him, like tour down under but include a tt and he'll fair well. otherwise, a good bottle fetcher.
Tesfay, Calvin, J.C, and Tsgabu
All the real young raw talent is found here... and alot of expectation is placed on all these riders. J.C can tt and climb short hills, in time he could win races like the criterium int. Tesfay and Tsgabu are good on the short climbs and have a decent turn of speed too, they just need a good mentor and being a classics riders will then be in their grasp. Tsgabu is also a fighter, this character boded him well in to achieve some decent N.C (u23) results in italy. And finally, Calvin... the kid can be whatever he wants to be... some local old timers are wanting him to be SA's first contender for the le Tours yellow jersey in years to come, he is the complete GC package. |

At first, a very big Thank you! @Boet, that will be very useful and surely included
Now a general statement, as this hasn't been updated for longer time:
I still await the Daily DB for a fully patched game to get the most out of the game for me and for you.
@aidavn13: I can't see anything. Could you try to fix it please?
@Ian: Thanks, that's the main reason I choose them
I hope I can live up to the expectations.

nice choice, i'm also starting a Career with MTN, but as i'm South African i have added a few extra South African Riders that were unfortunately not in the Database. Like Darren Lill and Waylon Woolcock.
Hopefully the database you will be using as more South African Riders.
Looking foward to it.
Here is a Team Bonitas jersey for anybody who wants to make a db. I'll upload a pack soon.

His signature hardly calls for such a reaction.
1st of all, this is the thread of a story, reserve posts as these for more appropriate threads.
2nd, he's free to think his mind. Many here have accused Wiggins/Sky to be dopers, he's not the only one. You should respect his opinion and he should respect yours.
3rd, Please don't call someone pathetic over such a silly thing, it's only cycling. You know what's pathetic? Fighting over something like that.
I'm not accusing you or anything, just trying to give some advice. You can't spend your life fighting everyone who has an opinion that you don't like. You could talk to them in a polite way, but saying they are pathetic won't open a good discussions, rather a name-calling discussion.

Well, since these posts have raised this thread from a nearly 2-month sleep, I was just wondering if the story will happen. The latest PCMDaily DB includes MTN ya know
