Yep, thank god the route is short and easy.
But as you said... the mountains in the north took a while, but are a quite nice background scenery on a sunny day... the Rio-Niterói-Bridge was an efford, too. Recogniced a bit late that I have to raise both coastal areas to make it somewhat realistic... and I haven't even touched the fairly close hills where the Monomento Christo is located.
It's hard for me to set correct hight and tune everything that it looks kinda generic. The process really makes me appreciate the gpx created scenery.
PS: It's spelled (kind of) "Needer-sucks-on" |

Well, usually when creating out of .dem stages people don't care much about the terrain around, just about the profile and having realistic terrain surrounding the route. But with the amount of detail you're putting in, it's good that the race is a criterium, because then we'll have lots of time to appreciate the landscapes Looking forward to the finished stage!

Niedersachsenrundfahrt (Fantasy Race) is finished.
Link to Download
Download contains niedersachsen.cdb-file I used for testing. When put in Documents-->PCM2012-->Mod-->Database (and ingame is choosen as DB) you'll be able to select the race in stage race and single stage mode as a 2.2 event.

Some progress is made in the Copa América de Ciclismo, but still a way to go...
Here is a shot of the start-, finishing area with a view on Sugar Loaf Mountain. Might do some slight changes, is a bit steeper in real.
Next ist a closer look on the finishing straight, which is nice and wide... but very short (ca 600 metres). Afaik the route is going counter-clockwise, whilst leading clockwise would be more exciting at the end!?
I tried to rebuild the airport and failed... the misused chairlift buildings look more like greenhouses...

What are the odds that two people decide to do the same nearly-insignificant race which requires a fair amount of work because of lack of .dem files?
Well done to both, even if I can't download neither yet Rio looks awesome Btw, arma, is that part of the Rio-Niteroi bridge an isolated object, or something? It looks really nice

Hey, 200 metres of elevation... it's a rollercoaster of a race.
To be serious, haven't seen a flatter one, yet. |

That's why I need now to post the works I plan. I think he did the same that me : "Oh, 1 day race, seems flat. It won't take to long so let's go" And the previous years, it was on F1 Circuit so if he likes mechanical sports ...

Difficult to do that. The real bridge is flat at the two extremities and elevates on the middle so I put two "normal" bridges and the Noirmoutier in the middle
@ Margh : I plan to do Martinique and Tobago Cycling Classic (and need to create my thread

Thanks. Yes, it was the short-flat-onedayrace-thing that attracted me.
Martinique and Tobago sounds kewl... I likely give Tour do Rio a try.
Maybe it isn't bad you're posting here, at least that way I'll always know what you're up next. |

. Route looks greatly done . How did you put the two roads so close ? Did you delete all "borders people" on the middle ?
Edit : And how did you do to make the car park near the restaurant ? A road without marks ?
Very well done

Thanks a lot.
Exactly, erased all border people (bodycount = 500+).
The roads are linked by slightly overlapping, editor is quite lenient with this.

Yes, here two wide 4 roads linked to each other without marks.
One pic up (#3) is a parking lot with trees around... this can be created by building a relatively small large city which leaves it's center empty, but paved. |

Just started Tour do Rio (2.2 America Tour)
Have a little problem. I can't find any hint on the race homepage regarding the whereabout of the flat- and KOM-sprints (and if there are different categories). Advice appreciated. |

Ok, so the Copa America is simply... the best piece of stage I've ever seen (biased but still) Really, to start from nothing and end up with that is just amazing! And even though none of the route is covered by the PCM automatic cities, you really managed to make it feel like we're in the middle of the city Btw, you're really creative with the IBs: building tops as a dock, lying buildings as a floor, water tower as control tower in the airport (which looks great as well).. looking in the stage in the viewer is simply fantastic. Amazing job
But things got a bit worse when I tried to play it. Not sure how it happened with you, but with me the stage lagged a lot. That can be cause because of two reasons: one; too much water. You don't need to fill water all the way to the finish of the 'map'; because of the 'fog' effect in game, you can finish it earlier and it still look like it goes all the way to the end (you can see fog in the stage editor with ctrl + F). Just remember to take out the waves at the 'unseeable' side, otherwise you can see the wave line over there. Additionally, not that much of city is needed (and the city I believe is the main reason for the lag). Concerning Rio's city, just a "layer" of city surrounding the route should do it. Also, if you do not make the roads that are going of the route (circuit) and into the city straight = make them go in diagonal, you won't be able to see the lack of city in the depth, because they'll be quickly covered by high buildings. I'm not sure if everything makes sense, I hope they do
As for Tour do Rio: I haven't looked/played the stages, but the profiles look very good, almost real. I tried looking around in the site for mountain categories, but no luck. Perhaps when the race is going on, in a couple of days, there'll be more info. With Rio hosting the 2016 Olympics, Tour do Rio is getting bigger each year, it's a race with 'potential', so a nice choice (to create). Who knows if we don't end up having a 2nd Tour de San Luis in South America?

Thanks a lot for taking a closer look and the kind words.
I'll make some changes to get a light version. Never used the fog... didn't even know what it should be good for, thanks for the hints and the much appreciated feedback.
Tour do Rio is far away from downloadable, just fixed the routes...
...though stage 1 is almost done:
PS: Am much more related to a race after creating it... would be nice to notice that the Tour do Rio gain importance. |

Copa América de Ciclismo (light) --> Download
Hope this works lag free for everyone. Size of the zces-file is down to 4.5 KB (from 6.9 KB). Feedback appreciated.
Thanks again lluuiiggii. Just learned how to turn of the waves partially, didn't even think this is possible bevore you wrote it. |
