I am really interested to hear what was up with Hesjedal, a bit of calamity for Garmin today with them setting the pace earlier. Hesjedal is known to be a week 3 grand tour man, he can struggle in the middle as he did today.
Other than the now expected Wiggins descending like Bambi on Ice fiasco - I did feel that Astana struggled a bit with team numbers. Of course with Kangert they didn't need anyone else but I would have expected a few more up there. I think everyone was on their knees really with the weather and climbs.
Agree with those that say this has been an exciting Giro, every stage is unmissable.

Gotland dude - you can Call whatelet you like, but please stop your holy walk of judgement, atleast when you are not capable of understanding the points. Dont take everything so literally, its a pain in the ass to be around.
When I write "lol, Betancur you retard" do you then honestly think Im confusing him for a mentally disabled person? Or is Stuff like that only alright when a smiley is fitted into the sentense, or when the swedes are tucked in?

I expected hesjedal to not be as good as week 3, but today was horrible. They sehe pace, then Hesjedal drops when other teams still have 5 guys. What the hell happened?
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Astana should have had more riders up front at the end, but i expect Tiralongo and Kessiakoff to gain form and be there in the big mountains. |

According to the Danish comentaries two of Astanas riders have been feeling under the weather, but are on the comeback. It was Kessiakoff and someone else.

Tiralongo was feeling sick aswell and is also on comeback.
Plus I think Aru was in Wiggins group when he was dropped. Seems like he isn't good at descending.

" but retarded to havent noticed that there was another rider infront"
That is what i reacted against, he had been riding for the whole day and just put in a massive effort to get a way. And what has "the swedes" got to do with anything? Whatever, not going to drag this on anymore. |

As expected Hesjedal was dropped today. Honestly I did not expect him to be major threat this year. This year his pre-Giro form has been aweful. 10kms of good racing in LBL does not account for great preparation as many here feel. It happened last year for him but lightening does not strike twice.
In big mountain stages it will be interesting to see what happens to Wiggins. If he gets dropped, will they allow Henao to be their leader. I guess not, its British team afterall. But Wiggins looked very vulnerable.
Looks like Nibali, Evans and Scarponi, and maybe Gesink will be real contenders going into big mountains. |

Don't forget that last year Evans went with Brad and Chris up Belle Fille, then blew up in the 2nd and 3rd weeks... I doubt he'll stay with the main guys as we get further and further in.
And i still wouldn't count out Hesjedal for a good GC position. He had a bad day today, but there is still plenty of time to come back.

He had a virus back then. I dont think he will win. In 2011, he won due to his TT, now we had it, he has to rely on mountains. Nibali is better in the mountains I think

I've noticed that too. On the stage to Marina di Ascea, he pulled hard up to the top of the final climb, and then immediately looked back and let Agnoli and Nibali pass him, before getting dropped from the group on the way down.
Could just be an empty tank obviously, but I get the feeling he's far less comfortable than his team mates when descending.

There's another TT.
But mountaineous. I think climbing ability is more important than TT then

You don't get better at recovering with Age... that is probably the one big thing that gets worse with Age...
Added to that his lack of pre-Giro racing and it is doubtful he'll last over three weeks, especially if people start attacking

Nah, the climb is not very hard. Wiggins could take plenty of time on Nibali there if he has a good day.
