Almost expected sad update
Hi guys, i know i've just uploaded a race report, but it may have been my last in a long time. Like (almost) every other story, this one has to end at some point also. I have no imaginative excuses to come up with. My motivation for playing PCM and running this story has simply just disappeared...
I've really enjoyed making this story, and i have reached far longer than what i'd expected at the start. I want to thank everybody who have been following and supported me. You are the guys who make a story great! I'll also thank those who voted me second in the "one-rider story of the year" award. Even though it may not have been much, it really ment something to me.
My savegame is still safely kept on my computer and i'm not willing to let it go yet. Maybe i'll play with Salvatore by myself and develop him further through the years, and maybe someday i'll be back with Salvatore again. But that lies far ahead from now!
I'll take a break from both Salvatore, PCM and the Daily forum. I don't no what has happened, but i can't really figure out why it's interesting no more. But i hope i'll be back someday. Very cliche-alike, but it suits very well here - "you'll never know what you got until you lose it"
I hope to see you one day again. Thank you!

Sad to see this story come to an end. One of the best one rider stories probably in this forum. I hope you will be back and I hope you get that motivation back on. |

Oh man, that really bums me out. I completely understand though, I took a break myself a couple weeks ago.
Just wanted to let you know this is/was maybe my favorite story that I follow. Sure hope to see him back one day here.
Thanks for an amazing story, anyway! |

Lets hope the urge to write another story returns soon |

A shame to see this go away. Probably my favourite story of all.
Fingers crossed for a return at some point.

This was probrably the best story out here, shame to see it end, but you did manage to cover an entire season with Puccio, and showed his great development, now, it's up to us to think what he would have done with Farnese Vini. Hope to see you here back again with another great story, this one was only 30 pages long, but 30 worth pages. |

This was one of the best: it's really a shame that this story stopped. Hoping to see Salvatore back stronger in future... |

I've returned to this thread quite some times after mid February, almost half a year ago, where i ended this story. Just to read a little and imagine how Salvatore would have developed, and how this story would've looked like. But i've always come to conclude that it would never have worked out. Motivation was lost.
But one thing that annoyed me the most, was that i never really ended the story. I was so close to finish just one season, which is quite some performance as well. I wanted my story to be a part of the prestigious 5 %, that Crommy in his guide to story writing predicts will reach the end of the season. If i could just finish this story in a proper way, i could have peace in my mind and put a smile upon my face every time i returned to the thread.
Therefore i've put my mind up to finish Salvatore's season with the last four stages of the Tour of Beijing and of course a big season review. Whether i'll continue to the 2013 season after, only time and motivation will tell...

Tour of Beijing - Stage 2 - 11/10 2012
| B. Swift | | G. Thomas, J. Roelandts | | K. Goddaert, M. Matthews, G. Meersman |
The day started out calm with a small breakaway building up a gap quickly. Although prominent names were inside the breakaway like Niki Terpstra and Andreas Klier, the four man break seemed doomed already before the race had yet to begin for real.
At the 10 km point the breakaway was back in the pack, making it look like a classic sprint finish. But at the 5 km point everything exploded. First S. Casar attacked with Nordhaug and Thomas following, while a massive crash occured in the back of the pack. All was chaos and luckily for the guys in front, this resulted in the fact that they were to decide the stage between themselves. This resulted in Geraint Thomas taking his second stage in a row in front of Matthews.
Results
Photos of the race
Spoiler
The morningbreakaway - N. Terpstra, K. Klostergaard, A. Klier and J. Sagan
Together with Lotto and AG2R, Sky held the breakaway close all day long
Casar was followed by both Nordhaug, Thomas and Voigt in his final attack
Closing in on the last kilometres, Michael Matthews only just managed to get up to the frontgroup
Matthews takes the front with Thomas behind
The massive crash at the 5 km point. Prominent names as Moser, Gerdemann and Henao lost time today, due to the crash
Thomas goes on the outside of Matthews
Thomas wins the final sprint
Thomas is in the shape of his life! Both Nordhaug and Thomas did great in spotting Casar's attack in the final, although i'm pretty sure that Swift was a little mad after the stage, knowing that this was a great chance for himself. I hope they'll work it out. It was actually quite an easy stage today, with only the last couple of kilometres being extremely hard. I heard the big crash right behind me, so i'm glad i wasn't involved. Oh, and a quick status on Henao. He wasn't down in the crash, but only got blocked, so he is alright.
Greetings Salvatore
