Garmin - End of 3rd Season - Continue in PCM11
roturn
The fitness of all Tour starters are about 89-93. So quite perfect. Nevertheless it will be very hard for him ;(
On the other hand there will be an opportunity then for a breakaway win with him.
But at first I wait for the first mountains.

Le Tour de France - Stage 5
Cholet - Chateauroux

This could be another chance for Tyler Farrar. It`s a quite long stage with 227km and the last 30km are always a bit uphill. This will really be not comfortable at all.

img707.imageshack.us/img707/4249/pcm0002w.jpg
8 riders attacked after the start. Koen de Kort is there again. What a surprise.

img835.imageshack.us/img835/89/pcm0003.jpg
As it is the last chance for the sprinters before to hilly stages, the sprinter teams are working a lot to get a win for their team. Especially Kreder had to work alone for a long time before he got support.

Bad luck for Omega. Kaisen felts back of the breakaway after a puncture. This will be very hard to come back.

img692.imageshack.us/img692/5186/pcm0017n.jpg
On the final 30km Quickstep spells us for doing the pace. Kreder, Peterson and Zabriskie really suffered a lot. Hopefully Farrar can finish their work later.

img267.imageshack.us/img267/1404/pcm0018.jpg
Unfortunately not. Tom Boonen wins with a nice advance ahead of Bonnet and Davis. Farrar was quite exhausted in the end and finished as 7th. At least the gap in the point rankings is not too big.

The 5th time in a row Daniele Bennati is finishing last after a long solo ride. Why was he nominated with such a form? This might even be his last stage as tomorrow a medium mountain finish is coming.

Bad luck but hopefully you can take jersey on later stages. Will you attack on couple of stages and take sprint points ?

Not sure yet. If so then probably in 3rd week. Otherwise he will be too much out of energy too early.

What Liquigas is doing with Bennati is very bad,no team can do such a thing to a riderAngry

Thanks Freitas.
Just checked Bennati`s fitness = 25 ;D So he must have been injured before.

Tour of Austria - Stage 4
Lienz - Großglockner
img690.imageshack.us/img690/5359/pcm0020.jpg
The profile is quite similar to stage 2. Pretty flat until the final climb. The climb isn`t as steep as the Kitzbühler Horn but therefore longer.
Martin is of course the top favourite, but other riders won`t have that big problems probably.

img267.imageshack.us/img267/8936/pcm0021r.jpg
Quite a big group with an early attack. None of them is really dangerous but Martin wants the stage win.

img440.imageshack.us/img440/2078/pcm0022w.jpg
So again Dao, Meier and Bobridge are doing a higher pace. It will be hard against that many riders.

img836.imageshack.us/img836/3766/pcm0023.jpg
John Gadret attacks on the flat part with more than 50km to go. He isn`t really a danger for the overall but as an average climber he could go for the stage.

img827.imageshack.us/img827/1809/pcm0024.jpg
He did extremely well on the flat part and our riders weren`t able to catch him. He is now at the start of the climb directly behind the group.

img718.imageshack.us/img718/64/pcm0025j.jpg
But also the peloton is just 1min behind. So everything works perfect for Martin.

img689.imageshack.us/img689/326/pcm0026.jpg
Taaramae with the first attack, He was quite disappointed after the first mountain stage, where he lost several minutes.
For some reason all good climbers of Cofidis are participating in Austria instead of the Tour. Therefore they have a great team for the flat stages and breakaways in France.

img826.imageshack.us/img826/7669/pcm0027.jpg
Taaramae is caught again but therefore the peloton splitted. Martin is isolated now in this group. Vorganov is doing the work for Peter Velits.

img831.imageshack.us/img831/9206/pcm0028b.jpg
The group splits again. Just about 10 riders there including Martin, Velits, Valjavec and still 3 Bbox riders with Sicard, Trofimov and Rolland.

img521.imageshack.us/img521/299/pcm0029.jpg
Valjavec with an attack. Martin and Velits counter.
Peter Velits just signed a new contract with Astana and wants to show his skills.

img684.imageshack.us/img684/420/pcm0030o.jpg
After Martin caught Valjavec he increases another time. None of them can follow, but the gap isn`t becoming that big. But just Valjavec, Sörensen, Velits and Augustyn are close to him. So these might be the top 5 in the end of this race.

img209.imageshack.us/img209/2012/pcm0031z.jpg
Martin wins again. Behind him Velits wins the sprint ahead of Sörensen.
It looks really good now with the overall win for our young Irish rider. Velits with the best chances for the second as he is the best time trialist. Sörensen with 1min advance to the other 2 is the best bet for the last podium placement.

Great domination by Martin Smile

+1 great ride

Thanks.

The invitations for La Vuelta have started.

Invited Pro Tour Team
Astana
Caisse
Cervelo
Euskaltel
FDJ
Garmin
HTC
Katusha
Lampre
Liquigas
Omega
Rabobank
RadioShack
Saxo
Sky

Ag2r, Bbox and Quickstep are missing. Bbox is last in the PT ranking and they could have needed any points. Ag2r is 3rd last and they definitely need a great result by Menchov in the Tour de France now. Quickstep as third is doing well so far.

Wildcard

Wildcards will be given to 5 of these 9 teams:
Andalucia
The chance for a wildcard is pretty high. Just 2 Spanish teams asked for it and these two might probably be sure. Also they have Gomez Marchante, who finished as 5th last year.

Xacobeo
The other Spanish team with the 4th from last year Mosquera should also been invited, although he decreased a lot.

Vacansoleil
The Dutch team has also good chances. They are the best team in the Continental rankings of them and with Carrara, Hoogerland and Bozic they have good chances. Surprisingly the other Dutch team Skil didn`t ask for it, so Ricco and Kiserlovski without a GT this year after they weren`t nominated for the tour for everybody`s surprise.

Milram
With Gerdemann, Rohregger, Fothen, Ciolek and Förster they would have one of the strongest wildcard squads. So the chance for an invitation is not bad.

BMC
The big stars are gone, but with Frank they have a great climber and Klöden as backup. Might be enough.

Saur
Coppel and Caspar could lead them in the last GT. They will have to fight for an invitation.

Miche
Szmyd and Nimiec are good riders but I don`t believe that they get an invitation.

Endura
The squad is quite weak but Camano could really get a nice placement, but he wouldn`t have any support.

United Healtcare
Probably the worst chances. Larsson is a good option for a top20 but they don`t have other riders.

Kami
Rly love to ride the Tour of Austria, awesome to see some lesser climbers battle it out.

Also, whats your progression rate?

Same here. Love these smaller races. Especially with PCM10 where the fitness is much more important, so even Zabriskie (72mo, 95fitness) can challenge Contador (83mo. 65fitness) in some races Grin
Unfortunately I ride too less of them with Garmin, maybe next season when my squad is much better.

I play with 0,5 progression rate.

Great win again by Martin! Smile

baia
Tell me...is not too hot for Martin in the stage with all those shirts?

Thanks lluuiiggii.
@baia: Good question. He is really way too dominant.
Hope to change the point jersey with Rojas later as that means to win more stages with him Grin

As an addition: Think the jerseys will be worn like this:
P: Velits
KoM: Rabon
U25: Augustyn
