I think I read somewhere (or maybe I made it up in my mind ) that, for the hair test to be conclusive, the hair samples must have a determinate length, and, in that case, Contador's hair would very likely not be long enough.
Short Hair must mean doping then. Back in the late 90's, a hair test for corticoids was introduced. As a result (or was it just a trend, like they say), we got many blond riders (Virenque 1998...), or bald ones. |

I don't remember that.
But I do remember in 2004 the sudden outbreak of blonde riders in the peloton. Recombynant EPO was getting widespread at the time, and it tends to over-oxygenate your hair folicles, meaning you get patches of blonde hair....so they bleached all of it to hide the fact.
Simoni didn't bother. He simply rode the 2004 Giro with blonde spots all over his head.

I'm being told we can expect some movement on the Alberto Contador CAS case this afternoon. Watch this space.
All I know is there will be an announcement of some sort. I'll tweet once I hear anything.

And apparently, that "announcement" is that CAS says it is still reviewing Alberto Contador's case and now expects to deliver a verdict in two week's time.

This has got to a point that further delays don't disappoint/surprise me anymore. Ridiculous.

I think they are rushing this case. People need time to look over the evidence and gather their thoughts. Maybe they should wait with the verdict for a couple of months?

Contador tested positive in 2010, it is now 2012, they have had more than enough time, hed deserves to be banned like the rest, its gone on for so long and it isnt good for the sport.

By the time he finally gets found guilty he would have already have had his 2 years ban whilst waiting for the final outcome The Authorities have been a laughing stock |

This whole situation is nothing more than a parody. Nothing has been handled the way it should have been. I really feel sorry for those who came 2nd to Contador and have to live in this uncertainty. |

It is just outrageous, 2 years of waiting. No other hearings take this long.
I just don't get it... I'm bored of it all and just want it over.

I wonder what will happen if he is acquitted of all charges. |

If he gets one of those rulings where the ban starts from way back in 2010, and if its the normal 2 year sentence, I will be very unhappy.
Its obvious money is flying around though, so I dont really expect him to be banned.

I don't understand the delay! If he was innocent they would say so. The test can't be inconclusive or they would say that too. Therefore he must be guilty and I don't know unless they are being bribed what the point is of postponing the inevitable. Far better to get it over with, so that Alberto apart from anything can get on with whatever plan of action he may have. |

Not even the Valverde saga, they went on for a while and been a fan of Valverde, I wish he was banned sooner as he did do wrong, like Contador, yes the sport will miss him but there going about it like Contador is bigger than the sport, but in fact no one is bigger than the sport itself, you return a positive test you should be banned in months, regardless of how good you are, how many GT's you have won, regardless if your the best stage race rider at the moment. The sport will recover it always does, WADA just get him banned. Like Doddy I am fed up with it too, it detects from the fun and excitement of the biggest races in the world.

After the large amount of time they've been investigating, just to acquit him of all charges, would be utterly stupid and frustrating, but still quite possible.

I am somewhat worried that this might happen seeing how he is Contador. He is one of the biggest names in cycling by far at the moment and banning him would be huge. |

For me this case has just been dragging out for far too long, they are just making fools of themself (everyone imo) and should've either said he was guilty or not guily back in 2010! ffs, if he had been convicted then he would soon have been able to race again...

naaaah. Banning Armstrong would be huge. Contador is on a lesser scale, unless people have made an effort to watch the Tour, they may not have even heard of Contador.
Not denying it's huge though, it would be.
