I guess getting second by yourself, when you could have easily won had you not tried to make your team mate win is one thing, and being gifted a 3rd place is totally different.

De Marchi put a great ride. Fuglsang could be actually real contender at Tour, looks much better than I ever seen him.
Dennis continuing to impress, to finish 10th today ahead of so many big names is another massive sign.
Travis Meyer is also actually becoming a nice break rider, noticed him past few races, he's been going okay.

He did look very good, but I still think top 10 is the maximum he can reach. His problem in the past has been staying fresh for 3 weeks. Therefore, I'm reserving any judgement regarding him until the Tour.
Remember, he was excellent in the first week of the 2011 Vuelta, but faded later in the race. Wouldn't surprise me if that happens again, but we'll see.

Which he'd only get with a stage win, since Meersman grabbed the intermediate sprint. |

True but I guess the same way I forgot about that, after a hard stage and tough climb he could have missed that piece of info. Idk. I would sprint for second just to make sure I did everything in my power to get the green after the 1st place was not available anymore.

It seems that Porte is definitely capable to reach top 10 in the Tour, he was one of the best climbers in this Dauphiné. I don't think Sky will take a 1-2 double this year, but on the other hand, that's what I said last year about Froome. |

Maybe it was just a whole show-off by Froome, giving a mental kick to his opponents. |

Well a shockingly boring stage concludes a shockingly boring race
When will Froome and co get caught?
At least De Marchi won

F. Grappe, on Twitter, reckons that Froome's edge over every one else is such that he's literally riding one intensity zone below others.
That'd mean 5 to 10 % more power (to weight). It doesn't look like much, but between the top athletes of a generation, that's huger than huge. Imagine Bolt running in 9"1 when his opponents would be stuck around 9"6 or 9"7. |

Yeah, Froome using a substance which will show up at Vini 5 years from now...
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

Cycling is soo boring with a rider like Froome or more accurate with a team like sky and their "training methodes". I wonder how the other teams can't get the drug sky is using. I mean teams like BMC also have a big budget right? |

vetooo @ammattipyoraily
#Dauphine, Stage 8, Risoul (last 10.90 km, 6.99 %, 762 m). Chris Froome (~68 kg): 29 min 15 sec, VAM 1563 m/h, 5.79 W/kg [CPL].
Very strong finish from Talansky (and good Day for Garmin in Suisse too):
vetooo @ammattipyoraily
...Talansky's performance was huge (last 3.3km). Talansky (~64kg): 9:06, 21.76 Kph, VAM 1774 m/h, 6.43 W/kg [CPL].
That Talansky number is just for the short bit where he attacked (so don't see 6.43W/kg and start bleating ) but great performance by him to run down the Sky duo. |

Maybe time will tell, but I definitely don't think they're using much stuff we haven't all heard about.
Marginal gains here would apply to a protocol that'd ensure them they'll never get caught, and will also get the maximum out of the products they're using. |

One thing for sure: they are not using Cera or a variant. That stuff made Sella, Schumacher, Ricco and co attack like mad men
