The Swiss, Spain, Italy and Dutch all had domestiques who did an excellent job, and leaders who messed up.
Cance crashed, while Boom, Valverde, Paolini and Sanchez all just failed in the sprint.

In one way they didn't messed up; Cavendish didn't win and After Uran and Vino jumped away, Gesink tried to chace them, nobody helped him, The USA not. Swiss not. France not. Spain not. Norvege not. |

To many naive hypocrits posting about Vino.
According to many of the "intelligent" posters in here, Vino have bought all his races now.
What about most of your all time hero - Lance Armstrong ?
Allegedly he bought of the whole IOC during his career with several 100k USD transfers. Stop being naive and ruining every victory.
IOC are the most corrupt hypocrits of all time - ah maybe FIFA are more corrupt, however you get the point
The elite are either almost equally doped, or in other words : Equally clean, therefore most of the recent victories have been fairly won, either with or without dope. Stop it - and enjoy it.
Once again i will emphasize my satisfaction of the last big crusader and personality won a huge race.

Apparently every one's not happy with Vino :
I'm almost sure my French spelling was better when I was 10 than Pineau's nowadays.
("Cycling didn't win a thing in Olympism today !", but more literally, he wrote "Cycling as not win a thing n Olympism to day !!!" )
Anyway, I had not read about it, but apparently, both former pro Philippe Gaumont and Andrei Kivilev's widow have accused Vino of paying Cofidis to ride for him during Paris-Nice 2003.
Aquarius can you enlighten this subject a bit further?
- I know Kiviliev and Vino was good/best friends. I know you have seen the stage where Vino was on the podium with Kivilievs picture and cried.
ANd what is Pineaus problem here ?

Could you point out people claiming that Vino bought all his races who have Armstrong as their all time hero? In fact, I could even ask for you to point out someone in this thread who has Armstrong as their all time hero, it'll be quite hard to find

there are very few people here that would claim that cycling is clean
even less that Armstrong is a 'good' guy
people (including me) are not naive, we just like to hope and believe

Obviously cycling is not clean. Just check the wattage calculation for this years TDF.
I am enjoying every race i see with or without dope. As long as im certain that the elite and stars has the same and equal circumstances of winning a race. It really makes no difference.
This thread shall not turn into another doping thread nor whitch-hunt-vino thread. |

Secord best cycling moment for me this year. If Vino leaves the sport as a active rider after this, it really would fit the farwell of him as a icon.
The world needs more people like Joaquim RodrÃguez

Vino was a silver medalist when Cav was 15 years. There is no excuse for the huge amount of fail in the Mail... |

Yeah "Grah-pehl" managing to take "4th place" rounded off a solid outing from Porter..
I hope the image isn't for real |

It's the mail.. it doesn't count
Got back from the day, excellent experience. All again tomorrow. Oh, and GB screwed it up. But they still got huge support.
Excellent atmosphere here at the Olympics.

That's the most embarrasing piece of fail I've ever seen in anything that dares to call itself 'media'. Incredible.

Please don't take that paper as typical British attitudes! Most people I've chatted to since loved the race and Vino has become a household name (at least for a day or so!)

Whoever came up with that as the front page needs to be fired.
