Too bad you lost third.
Hope you can get it back.

Man, Nibali is just a monster in Giro! I think, you did a good job, no chance against that Liquigas-guys. And 3rd for Paulinho is still within reach. Good luck for ITT!

Nibali is just amazing on PCM.
He's dominating the Giro in every story.
With a good TT by Paulinho I think he's a chance to take back 3rd.
Still 2nd and 4th in the GC is a very good acheivement.

Maybe im wrong,but i have the feeling that The Shack riders(Levi & Paulinho)don´t have big support for this type of stages,they are on their own....you did good but i think maybe a little more agressive moves are missing...downhill attacks...if they do that,then i´ll do it too..

@All
Thank you I totally failed the last two stages, sorry! But I promise, we get the third place back.
@lluuiiggii/Batista15
It is probably because hilly stage finishes did not include any bonification, no time boni, no money and no points. Without that bug, it would probably really close between Freire, Nibali and Basso.
@baia
You are right. Machado is still to young and to weak to be a really help, and the other are either helper for the flat or hills (Hermans, Irizar, Rubiera) or sprinter (Impey, Lequatre).
As said, I am not a fan of downhill attacking (it was similar to cheating at the other PCMs) and it is quite unrealistic. I hoped that our guys could catch him with 99% dot or relay... Well, it did not work, so I probably had to counter his attack. Sorry, my mistake.

Giro d'Italia
Stage 21: Verona, 15,3km ITT
The Giro is almost over! The last stage is a hilly time trial in Verona. The Torricelle (4,55km; 4,5%) is a quite hard climb, so todays stage is probably a bit too hard for the pure time trial specialists, the puncheurs have a good chance, too. But we have to remember that after three hard weeks, the recovery is also an important thing. An other interesting fact: Todays course is the same circuit as at the world championships 1999 and 2004 (only inverted), maybe a good sign for Óscar Freire?
Team goals:
- Stage win (Leipheimer)
- Gain as much time as needed to pass Basso in the overall (Paulinho)
Favourites: Bradley Wiggins, Levi Leipheimer, Marco Pinotti, Luis León Sánchez, Vincenzo Nibali.
My tip: Levi is quite frustrated about the lost leader jersey, and we still have no stage win (I do not count the TTT). A stage victory would be something like a consulation prize.

For Óscar, it was probably a ride full of memories. And he even was not that bad - 23'32"
A quite strong performance from our sprinter, too. Daryl Impey - 23'19"
But the first really good time come from him, Peter Sagan - 23'07"
Edvald Boasson Hagen was one of the favourites for todays stage win, and as expected, he sets the new besttime - 22'51"
Rubén Plaza seems to have the day of his live - 22'37"
Damiano Cunego is not known as time trialer, but it seems that the quite hard hill suits him, he finished only a few seconds behind Plaza - 22'42"
Bradley Wiggins was the top favourite for the stage win, but with 20 stages in the legs, things are not normal anymore. He was not able to beat Rubén - only a 22'48" for the Brit.
Tiago Machado - 22'50"
Marzio Bruseghin wants to pass Bauke Mollema, who is a quite weak time trialer, in the overall. And he was able to clear his goal with a 22'38"
Really crazy time trial - even Garzelli finished with a better time than Wiggins - 22'43"
Real life winner of this stage was Marco Pinotti, but he was not able to repeat this here - 22'40"
It was a nice day for Caisse d'Epargne, Luis León Sánchez finished with the same time as Plaza - 22'37", so a 1-2-3 for Caisse in the moment.
Sérgio Paulinho performs quite good, but after his ride, he said that he had not a good feel today (Exactly, he had a -5 daily form). At least a 22'38" for him.
Ivan Basso only had to defend his third place in the overall - and was successfull. He finished with a 22'50", 12 seconds behind Paulinho.
Levi on fire - He puts all frustration in this ride, and finished with a fantastic time - 22'08", the new besttime!
Vincenzo Nibali was fast... But not as fast as Levi, who wins todays stage! 22'24" for La Maglia rosa.

Well, a 2nd and a 4th are not that bad, but after this first two weeks, we can be quite unhappy to lose our good positions at the last three stages... Congrats to Liquigas, Basso and Nibali showed, espescially at the last week, some great performances... At least, we fulfill one of the goals which the RadioShack Corp. wanted from us - a Top3 in the Giro.

Nooo!! 1 second is the amount of time that separe Paulinho and Basso after 3 weeks!! Any other daily form for Paulinho would make him still get podium =/ That's really bad
Great win with Leipheimer though

Great way to finish the Giro, even if you didn't get the win. That was really unlucky that Paulinho had such bad daily form. But the way he's developing I think he'll have more chances in the future for a podium finish in a GT.
I agree with the others, the Giro reports were great to read.

Great stage win and 2nd overall.
But Pinotti didn't win this stage irl, he was second, two seconds behind Gustav Larsson.

@all
Thank you Giro is over... Maybe a 2nd and a 4th are still not that bad, nontheless I want to excuse me that I totally failed the last two mountain stages.
@Porte
I agree, but probably not until 2011. His second GT 2010 will be the Tour de France, and with the Giro in the legs, he will probably only be one of the main helper for Armstrong.
@Pellizotti2
Of course you are right. I mixed up the results Sorry.

Race schedule June:
Seeing that Armstrong, Brajkovic, Klöden and Popovych still have a good shape from the AMGEN Tour of California, we decided to skip the Tour of Luxembourg, and will only take part at the Critérium Dauphine Libéré, the Tour de Suisse and several national championships.

Thank you guys Glad that you like the overview and the story. lluuiiggii is right, I tried to make a table which is quite similar to the ones on wikipedia.
31. May
Another great development in our squad, this time Yaroslav Popovych! Our best allrounder, strong on the mountains, against the clock and at hills, decent abilities on cobblestones and in sprints. One for sure: Vorarlberg and Palmeiras will have no chance to sign Popo, we will not let him go.
+ 2 Mountain
+ 1 Stamina
+ 1 Resistance
+ 2 Recovery
(The stat developments I write always under the rider profiles are always to see from the start of the season. So since the season starts, Popo improved +2 on Mountain, but with his improvement in April, he had only +1 improved)
Footon-Servetto has no really good rider for overalls, so they announced that they will try to sign Haimar Zubeldia.

Today I had a meeting with Dimitry Muravyvev. He said that his contract is up for renewal and he has to think about his future. He said that he is happy in our team and would like to stay.
We started negotiations and offered him a 2-year-contract with a monthly salary of 15.000€. Will he signs it?

Dimitry Muravyev signed the contract! That are good news, knowing that Muravyev is the second best cobbler in our team and still has some potential there.
William Bonnet, who has already a quite successfull season (Wons almost every small race in France), will NOT sign a new contract with Bouygues Télécom.
At the end of my post, I have a little question for my readers:
Daryl Impey and Ben Hermans asked for a new contract, too. I am really unsure if they still have a future in our team, whats your opinion?
The problem with Impey is that he have not much potential left and that we already signed two promising young rider (Georg Nennesson and Randolf Dreßel), which will be better sprinters than him in only a few years...
Ben Hermans was a quite good help for Levi at the Giro, and in February, he showed a great Vuelta a Andalucia (2nd overall, two stage wins). But like Impey, he has not much potential left and will never develop to a really strong rider...
