The U23 teams don't seem to appear very often in the team choice but if you keep retrying they do come up sometimes.

You're right, in my 100th try(not exaggerating) I was actually able to choose LottoU23 somehow.

The 1.2U23 and 2.2U23 (eg Ronde de l'Isard, Paris-Roubaix Espoirs) are still playable just as before. It is only the Nations Cup U23 races (eg Tour de l'Avenir) that have been removed.
Despite what it says in the patch description, you can still start a Be A Pro game with one of the U23 teams.
Yes, but NCU23 races are a big loss. Especially if your team doesn't register for the other races.

I agree.
I found the races playable so that's really too bad. |

Despite NCcup races disappearing from calendar after installing patch, I was able to race Course de la Paix U23 in 3D. Strange.
And it's annoying how I want to improve my flat so I put myself on training type that should, in theory, gains the most flat (is it baroudeur in English?), but in the last 2 levels I gained 3-4 points in some skills, but 0 in flat. I even gained a point in mountain.
Is progression dependent not only on training type, but also on my speciallity or I'm just having a bad luck?
Or maybe my limit is just 62 flat? But that would made my career unplayable, you can't win WT races with such a poor flat skill.

Cyanide, you morons.
They hit the jackpot with nice Be a Pro mode, just to deactivate best part of it in the first big patch? And even then. they are not able to deactivate it completely?
Oh gosh, how stupid people in there can be. If those clowns were working in company where i do, they would be fired instantly, for utter incompetence.
They have almost lost me as customer, to gain me back with me hoping for a change and then this?

I can't decide whether or not I will install the patch, I love the crash frequency setter so I can make them much more common, but seriously, no U23 N.Cup races? Does anybody know why?

Playing with the patch today I had my Paris-Nice ruined by a crash. Lost ~8 minutes after none of my team dropped back to help despite the fact I was the designated leader. Was a bit annoyed I couldn't get onto the TFR train that had dropped back to help Molema. At least it spiced up the gameplay a bit.
One thing I have noticed is that crashes seem to affect my team (Cannondale) more so than the AI's teams. Wondering if there could be a need for balancing or if I'm just being unlucky. |

Well I don't think NCup "deletion" is permanent.
They realize it's great but now it doesn't work so they deactivated it.
The way I see it:
They return in the next patch.
They return in the next edition of the game.
An entire new mode is a big step for a game, so they need to be able to make it better with every game. Can't release a perfect game mode at the first try, right
But it's unfortunate that you can't play them now, I had lots of fun with them.
Oh well, then I guess it's starting with an older rider and starting in PCT. At least there are still the U23 events. There are actually more of those than NCup, I believe! |

Well it would make sense if you were playing as Lotto-Jumbo

Maybe the NCup races were too easy? And therefore you would gain too many XP?
But anyway. If you can play U23 events, wouldn't it possible to change the NCup races to U23 races in the database? |

I thought the main problem with the Ncup races was that everyone was set as representing their team, or in most riders case - as they don't have a team instead of representing their country. Which probably messed up their fitness making the races easy to win, not sure if that played a part in whether or not the AI nations worked as a team or not when the national selection was made up from different teams.
Or was there another problem with them that I hadn't encountered yet apart from the lack of transferts and lack of leaders jersey's in stage races?

I think they should focus on other things.

I have realised that too. My team-mates are falling left, right and centre. Me not that often, but still. |

In theory yes, but it would break the U23-rankings and probably confuse the AI. Still, if we aren't getting NCup back this year, it could be a good experiment.

Changing the races to regular U23's doesn't help anyone, if your team doesn't sign up for those ones. That's what's happened in my career.
I played a few U23s before and I couldn't see what was that broken about them. So to completely remove them instead of fixing them seems pretty stupid to me.

Is it possible to continue the pre-patch Be-A-Pro carrier with the new patch? Avoided downloading it so far, as I fear it'll crash during the U23/NCup races next year.
Edit: Using the "official" RealnameDB, that is....

They just disappear from your calendar immediately.

Thanks!
That shouldn't be much of a problem, as I don't participate in them anymore. |
