Transfers

www.wielerland.nl/images/stories/Tejay_van_Garderen_2010.jpg
Unfortunately Van Garderen decided to stay with HTC. So we are still looking for a young talented stage rider. Best option now is Fuglsang. Porte would also be an alternative.

Fabio Felline has also our offer but nothing sure yet.

Therefore we can proudly present two other great signings.

img593.imageshack.us/img593/466/goss.jpg
With Matthew Goss we got the sprinter we wanted to have. He is young, good in hills and fast. We hope to see him winning for Garmin next season.

img211.imageshack.us/img211/3387/haussler.jpg
Our 2nd signing is even better. At first we thought about our finances but as we have still a bit budget left and will get more next year we could effort to contract Heinrich Haussler. He will be a strong rider for the classics and the sprints.

With Farrar, Rojas, Goss, Haussler and Hunter we will have 5 great sprinters next season. Dao might need one more season before winning some stages. This is almost as good as HTC Columbia in this season.

Great transfers, espescially Haussler Smile You will have a strong squads for sprints next year.

Indeed. Farrar is a great sprinter but I needed a better hilly sprinter for several races. So I got 3 better hilly sprinters now Grin

Therefore I will have the same problem next year in GT`s. Nothing better than Hesjedal or LL Sanchez with 78mo. So it will be hard to win. Gesink and Nibali are also free but much too expensive.
Might be another chance for Martin, Hesjedal and Sanchez and the new stage racer then. Maybe even Stetina can play a good role then. Quite similar with Martin actually if he is improving more.

Nice signings so far =D

Le Tour de France - Stage 2
Auray - Saint-Brieuc
img211.imageshack.us/img211/1574/pcm0001.jpg
The stage is quite similar to yesterday actually. It might be a bit easier as the hills aren`t that steep and long. But the finish is again uphill. But also easier than yesterday. So we might see some sprinters in front.
Real winner in 2008; Thor Hushovd

img717.imageshack.us/img717/6887/pcm0002r.jpg
Kreder attacked today. We didn`t want to see another successful break without Garmin. Chainel is again in this group. This young guy must be crazy to attack on day 1+2 of a GT.

img830.imageshack.us/img830/89/pcm0003.jpg
Kreder collected several mountain points today and will wear the jersey tomorrow. Good ride by him.

img502.imageshack.us/img502/7704/pcm0004z.jpg
The peloton is very fast now. It`s no question that they will catch the group this time. It`s the Tour de France and so every team and rider wants a win. Much harder for breakaways than in smaller, less important races.

img64.imageshack.us/img64/4199/pcm0005v.jpg
A few kilometers before the line the breakaway is over. Time for sprintpreparations. Vansummeren and Boom try to bring Farrar to the front, but they are a bit blocked by another train.

img602.imageshack.us/img602/3032/pcm0006.jpg
It`s our new signing. Haussler wins the sprint ahead of Steegmans and Breschel. Farrar was blocked and couldn`t pass. So he must be happy with the 10th. He needs better results if he wants to win the jersey. Tomoorow is a pretty flat stage and should suit him more.
Boom on 7 with a good result as he was less blocked.
Benatti lost more than 16min again and will have problems to stay in the limit on the first harder stages. Might be the first abandon of the tour quite soon.

+1 only one strong stage racer and u will have very good team, i would be somehow tempted to sign nibali, would be great addition and imo slightly better than gesink, fugslang would be nice addition, but could he be a leader and have a chance top10 in gt? Dunno his stats though.

P.S. unlucky with the train , hopefully you will win soon, hausler gonna be hard to beat for p.jersey, great signing
Your team for cobbles is mighty, even if there is mass sprint you now can win

Really great signings..,signing Nibali or Gesink would be great but if Garmin can get Fuglsang is a great signing too....i would be tempted to sign him..
Bad luck there with the sprint, hope to see Farrar winning some...

The International Tour of Austria is held since 1949 and belongs to the UCI Europe Tour. It runs parallel to the Tour de France, why many top cyclists can`t participate. So it`s often a chance for smaller teams or helpers to ride on his own.

Pozzovivo and Martin were fighting for the overall. The Italian won the first mountain top finish solo, Martin the second one. The decision felt in the timetrial.
Kessiakoff did also well as helper for Martin.

Martin will lead our team again. He wants the overall win this year as he improved a lot. He will be supported by Pate and Löw in the harder stages.
Rojas Gil wil be the man for the flat stages and wants to win the first time in the Garmin shirt.
With Bobridge and Pate we have also two riders for the timetrial.

*** V. Efimkin, Hoogerland, Carrara
** Moinard, Valjavec, Velits, Sörensen
* Nose, Vorganov, Rohregger, Fothen, Rolland

Although Martin isn`t a good time trialist, he is the best climber next to Rujano.
In the sprints Rojas is the favourite but also Keukeleire, Chavanel and Radochla have good chances.

img267.imageshack.us/img267/273/pcm0007.jpg
A pretty flat stage where we expect a mass sprint. So Rojas can show his skills. The small hills won`t stop the sprinters normally.

img337.imageshack.us/img337/7236/pcm0010.jpg
Martin wears the Irish shirt the first time after his win. Although it`s a nice shirt, we hope that he will change it soon.

img708.imageshack.us/img708/4378/pcm0011l.jpg
Some riders try it with a breakaway. When it works in the Tour de France then why not here?

img207.imageshack.us/img207/9623/pcm0012nn.jpg
Meier and Dao are doing the pace for Rojas. The gap melts and a sprint is very probably.

img443.imageshack.us/img443/8499/pcm0013y.jpg
14km to the line the group is caught and the sprinters are brought to the front. Rojas is in an excellent position and still full of energy.

img839.imageshack.us/img839/9098/pcm0014d.jpg
And he takes the first win for Garmin. We can still win a mass sprint. So he also takes the first yellow jersey for our team.
On the last lap there were some splits and some climbers already lost some time. Tschopp (+1'55), Rujano and Nose (+3'22), Hoogerland (+6'36)
Meier finished last after having a puncture but he was important today doing the pace in the first half.

Nice win with Rojas. Great signings also, I hope that you can get Fuglsang too.

roturn
Thanks. It was time that he wins something with his stats. He will lead our team in the Vuelta so he will have a chance against top sprinters there.
Next year it might be difficult for him. Wih Haussler and Goss 2 "better" or similar sprinters are challenging him.

Le Tour de France - Stage 3
Saint-Malo - Nantes
img818.imageshack.us/img818/1574/pcm0001.jpg
Todays stage is much more flat than the last two. It will be excited how the real flat sprinters will perform. Top favourites are Farrar, Greipel, Boonen, McEwen and Hushovd. But there are plenty of other good sprinters.
Real winner in 2008: Samuel Dumoulin

img259.imageshack.us/img259/1595/pcm0002z.jpg
Kreder already got the maximum of what he dreamed before the Tour. He will wear the KoM jersey for some days as there are no points today and tomorrow in the timetrial.

img810.imageshack.us/img810/89/pcm0003.jpg
7 riders attacked this morning. Roux and de Kort are there again. They were already in the break on stage 1. But as there are no bonus seconds at all in the Tour they won`t be able to ge an advantage if they don`t reach the finish first.

img42.imageshack.us/img42/3654/pcm0004.jpg
Zabriskie and Peterson work for Farrar in the peloton. Farrar has a good feeling for this stage.

img843.imageshack.us/img843/4629/pcm0005.jpg
Later Cofidis is supporting us. With 6 riders they are working for Bonnet, the overall leader and best sprinter in their team. But also Dumoulin, the winner of 2008 is an option.

img291.imageshack.us/img291/5134/pcm0006p.jpg
17km to Nantes the group is caught. This gonna be a sprint now for sure. Farrar is still feeling well. But also Boonen, McEwen, Steegmans and Greipel are in the front rows.

img403.imageshack.us/img403/2550/pcm0008o.jpg
It is Tyler Farrar with his first career win in the Tour de France after many top 3 results in the last 3 years.
He wins with one bike lenght ahead of Boonen and Greipel. Haussler on 4 and Bole on 6 will also collect several points, but Farrar is back in this ranking. Just 8 points to the first now. Vansummeren and Boom did an excellent job today.
Bennati is king with +51min after 3 flat stages Grin

Go Farrar! Great win!

Batista15
Well, where should I start!?
First of all, great transfers with Goss and Haussler! Especially Heinrich Haussler is an amazing signing as he´s so strong in France at the moment.
I´m sure Farrar will take at least one stage. Rojas did a great job in Austria, congrats to that stage win!
Last but not least, I think it would be awesome if you were able to sign a better stage racer. Nibali would be great but as you said..maybe too expensive. Anyway good luck for the signings and of course for the next stages

Batista15
Haha, as I just said a few seconds to go, he will win at least one stage Wink
