There's really no point in asking - not here, not in the endless private messages, not in comments to news articles.
We missed way too many release dates with the latest release, so we're not going to go through that one more time. Instead, we'll be conservative and say it's ready when it's ready.
That way, we're not disappointing anyone, and we won't get killed for being late |

Can anyone upload file 14 again? Unfortunately non of the existing links work.
It would be a real pleasure for me ;-) |

I'm buying a new laptop, which will arrive today or tomorrow, hopefully. Do you think it's strong enough to cope with the Expansion Pack? I still prefer having a "lesser" database (PCM.Daily Realname) but smooth gameplay than an amazing database but a slow gaming experience.
Specifics: Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E540 20C6 - Core i3 4000M / 2.4 GHz - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit - 4 GB RAM - 500 GB HDD - DVD-Writer - 15.6" wide 1366 x 768 / HD - Intel HD Graphics 4600 - keyboard: Belgium AZERTY |

Mmm... Not an expert on that, but have you given ''Can you run it'' a try? I believe you can insert specifics. If the bar reaches a bit further than minimum, then you're safe I think.

Yeah, but "can you run it" for Pro Cycling Manager won't be a problem. The problem is that the game gets slower with a bigger database, no? |

Yeah. That's why I said a bit past minimum
The further the bar reaches, the more chance it runs smooth with a DB

Oh okay good tip, I'll do that when I get the laptop.
Hope I can pull it off. Realname database is already so amazing, I'm sure playing with the Expansion Pack would be even greater |

Slower in what sense? In terms of 3D playing, most of the "slowness" of good DBs ,ainly come from the use of equipment, which is pretty much the same amount in the Real Name DB/Expansion Pack. The HD shirts of the Expansion Pack shouldn't be a problem either, since the "non-HD" shirts are the same size as HD (just worse quality).
In terms of career, sometimes it'll take longer to go through days because there are more races, but I believe that isn't anything hard to live with. It is true that, the bigger the DB, the higher the chance that PCM messes up some info and might create problems in your career. But Daily's DB are well within the limits of acceptable and there isn't much difference between the Real Name DB and the Expansion Pack (both have 100 teams, around 3550 riders in both, the main change would be races but ~85 more races shouldn't really be a problem).
Summing up, it's true that big DBs 'slow' the game, but, in case you're referring to 3D mode, if it works with the Real Name DB, it should work very similar with the Expansion Pack. If you're referring to career mode, there shouldn't be really any considerable problem. The main difficulty should be downloading the 14 GBs, but after that it's all joy and fun

Hi!
After I re-installed my game, I´m trying to install the DB once again, but it keeps stopping at /CM_Stages/top_giro__18_v7-emmea.zces
Can I somehow download a new file to aviod that?? |

Huh. Okay, maybe I should try it. I just tested and my laptop allows PCM 13 to run on full graphics and even load faster than my previous laptop on graphics 4.
But, like you said, the main challenge is downloading the entire thing |

Try checking the filesizes of the installation files, they should all be 950 MB or something (except for the last one). If there's one in different size, that one might be corrupt.

The files are as big as they should. And the files worked before, since I had the DB installed before I made a re-instalation of PCM.. I´ve tried check the CM_Stages folder, and I think there is something wrong, but I don´t know what. I have 4 files about that stages, where the instalation stops.
top_giro_18_v7-emmea.cds - 7Kb
top_giro_18_v7-emmea.zces - 0Kb
top_giro_18_v7-emmea.zces.old0 - 0Kb
top_giro_18_v7-emmea.zces.old1 - 0Kb
I´ve never seen this before, so I don´t know what to do |

Can someone tell us how far the 2014 database is? Not a date, just sort of an 'overview'. Thank you, really looking forward to it.

I'm going to kill one giraffe for every time that question is asked
Seriously, though - it's coming along just fine. I got caught up with (real) work the entire last week which did delay some stuff. The good news is that for each day the DB is not released, more new jerseys, stages etc. are released and can be added to the DB. |

You mean the big green "download" button on the Expansion Pack download page?
