It was Riis who threw Tinkov out, not Tinkov leaving Riis behind to start his own team

If that's not Rovny it looks a lot like him

So it's a repeat of 2006 then?
Though I think it looks more like Sergui Klimov. |

That pic is from 2006 when both Trusov and Rovny were riding for Tinkoff Restaurants. They're good candidates for the new team, though.

The whole thing about performance analysis and Froome not being clean was only a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean. From the interactions I’ve had with him over the years he’s been a complete gentleman and his performances certainly haven’t come from nowhere.
so its a sky rider |

I read that earlier today.
Nobody in the peloton thinks Froome cheats ? He mustn't talk or hear every one then.
There's quite a lot of concern among (French) riders and staff about how skinny some riders have been for two years. Namely a couple of Sky ones.
John Gadret (of all people ) had a rant at them.
Doubtful argument about Froome matching Armstrong's era times naturally because there were more attacks and rest back then, and it's more steady now. I remind quite well a dark blue train pacing its way till half climb, then the last rocket (Armstrong) attacking and keeping an insane pace till the summit. Maybe we didn't watch the same races ? Or maybe I don't have a bias towards the English-speaking cyclists ?
Also the bit about Froome not coming out of nowhere. Right, he was already a pro, bound to become unemployed, when he became the best rider in the universe. That's not nowhere.
Defending O'Grady ? Erm, I could probably think of less disgusting cheaters.
He's right about Europcar, much less aggressive this year, and getting reeled in by FDJ (and others). Others French teams are not too fond of the guys in green.
He seems to buy the explanation that Contador is less good because less or no dope these days. I admit he's getting old, but I tend to also buy that. Not sure who else he's pointing his finger at. Andy Schleck ?
I liked his former columns better. This one is too biased.

Juanjo Cobo, the last who dared to beat Sky's A Team.
I also agree that this article is a big load of bollocks. Still waiting for a GT winner to get busted by the biopassport as well.

All his articles are more bullshit than reality. It's a gimmick to get views, they write what they know their target audience wants

Maybe by mentioning a former GT winner he mentions Basso? After all he won Giro in 2006 (doping summit), is known for doping, and after another victory in 2010 he has never shown his past power. |

He and Cunego were the two I thought about when reading the articles.
Besides them, Contador and Cobo, I can only see two other possibilities, but I think it's too early to judge both of them. Wiggins and Hesjedal.

I know, but this is specially biased. Santambrogio and Sayar? Bad. O'Grady? Ba... wait he's Anglophone, good.

Nah, Basso is just old. He came back strong (of course not ET anymore), and has gradually gotten worse since 2010. If he's mentioning Basso he could as well be mentioning Evans. Oh no wait, Anglo as well.

I'm under the impression the Secret Pro is a Sky rider. He even mentions the fact that he and his team is heavily criticized on internet forums. Can't think of any other team right, now? |

From reading the blogs through a couple of times, there seem to be four races I'm sure that the Secret Pro races - TdU, Amstel, Cali, and the TdF. Only rider to ride all four of these races is Amael Moinard (very long shot I know). Fits with the thing about the Giro helmets; and also about having ridden GTs (in the plural) last year, and with mentioning the Vuelta (which he rode in last year as well) but doesn't really fit with his general opinions.
Perhaps it is not just one person, but two, or maybe different ones for each blog? They all sound a bit different.

Do we even have any proof TSP is a real pro?
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

So, after the French Senate revealed the paperwork that led to riders being identified for their EPO use in 1998/1999, there has been some reactions from involved people (riders or DS at the time) :
Jacky Durand acknowledges everything but say we're living in a different time and nowadays cyclists shouldn't have to pay for the mistakes of people from his generation
Moncassin thinks cyclists are being witch-hunted.
Armstrong wonders what good it makes to the sport.
Jalabert takes note of the announcement of his 1998 positive.
Zabel is surprised he tested positive.
Lefevere suggests a country with as much unemployment (as France) shouldn't spend money in antidoping commissions
Omega-Pharma supports Tom Steels
Belkin sacked Blijlevens
O'Grady was asked not to join the Australian Olympic athletes board.
Olano was sacked/resigned from the Vuelta organisation with immediate effect.
Rather different levels of hypocrisy. There's only Durand's which is not worth too much contempt, I think. |
