What a great way to ruin a cool stage by handing FroomeLite.exe the win. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I think you have to replase your avatar to : i hate zakarin so much, most dope rider in history, burn in hell m...r fuc...r. Meantime, i'm very happy, and wish good luck to all riders, especially to Porte.
It's great to hear youre happy with his wins. It wont last long but knowing UCI its not 100% certainity. |

According MPCC one rider from Bardiani-CSF should not have started the Giro d'Italia due to low cortisol levels. |

Contador riding without a helmet. Rules state he should be disqualified. Will he? No. |

He was clearly just adjusting his hat and/or helmet for his comfort. Noone can actually think this is the same as the Porte thing? |

So why not pull over and stop at the side of the road to adjust it?

I remember seeing a Lotto NL - Jumbo rider taking his helmet off towards the back of the peleton at a spring classic. Did anything ever happen to him? |

Nope. I don`t think this should be punished and am quite sure that most riders do it once during a stage or race.
Just another example of a rule, that could need some smaller fix or more specific explanation. |

He should, but i have seen hundreds of riders adjusting their helmets without punishment. They turn a blind eye to that rule under these circumstances, they have always done. |

Race jury has been interpreting (most rules clearly need interpeting) that rule for 10 years (or how long helmets have been mandatory but it's about ten years iirc) in the same way for all riders in all races. Riders can take of their helmets to adjust somethings but only for couple of secs.
When the rule was first put in place there were races were riders were taken out of the race because they put of their helmets on the final climb. (Which had been allowed the previous year as some sort of transitional arrangement. Those are only times I remember riders taken out of the race because of taking their helmets off.

Peloton is spread all over the route on mountain stages and every team has only two cars. so they can't be behind every grupetto. In that case assistance from other team cars is allowed.

Except the rules are that you cannot take a wheel from another team or another teams rider. There's no exceptions given in the rules. It's a flat no and a flat penalty.
You can take mechanical assistance from your own team, own teams riders or the Neutral service's. Meersman didn't, he took assitance from Sky (lol) but get's away scot free. Where's the consistency? He should get a 2 minute penalty and Sky should get a fine.

Going to keep dragging this matter out despite the fact we all know a number of rules in many sports aren't applied by the very letter of the law at the discretion or interpretation of the match\race official(s) aren't we? We've all seen athletes do stuff which by the very letter of some laws is considered a punishable offense, numerous riders even just this year have already by the letter of the law broken the rule about wearing your helmet at all times during a stage\race .
Makes for a lively discussion but the way some people keep bringing it up conveys it in more of an eye-for-an-eye situation than a serious discussion.
