Wow, 2x LBL winner and a Vuelta. Not exactly earth shattering, more impressive are the things he hasn't won.
Yes, and by those standards, Froome has only won one Tour de France. |

Well he's won pretty much everything apart from the TDF, Giro and AGR as far as major races/Monuments go, and then Worlds.
Only things missing imo are TDF, World Championship and maybe Pais Vasco as you'd think that would be the perfect stage race for him.

And what he wins, he usually wins multiple times and get a shitloads of stage wins in the process. Only ignorant people will dismiss his greatness the past decade. As far as I am concerned, he is a model of consistency year in and year out which exactly is what you want in your star.
In terms of consistency, only Contador can match him and he does that in much less races/much less different races throughout a year. |

Also possibly MSR and Lombardia, but then I suppose being banned from Italy didn't help
Guess the point I was trying to make, albeit badly, is that Valverde has incredible palmares and is always there or thereabouts, but seems unlikely to be remembered as a great rider rather than just a very good one because he lacks the big wins of the likes of Contador or Evans. |

Great ride by Poland and Kwiat finishing it off. Amazing! Kudos.
I had expected you to go a bit more Norwegian-crazy than this. |

I picked what would happen-
Some strong rider (I thought Gallopin but wasn't sure) would get away near the end, and nobody would want to make a move, so they would just make it, Gerrans 2nd, Valverde 3rd.
Valverde continues his 'curse of the world championships', and Kwiatkowski picks up the 'curse of the rainbow jersey'.

He was only banned from Italy for about 7 months before he was completely banned iirc. MSR probably isn't a race for him and not really at the right part of the season for him to be in top form (although he always seems to be in form apart from Grand Tours).
I think he should still be remembered as one of the top riders of this generation. He's won more than any other non sprinter this year, he leads the PCS Ranking by 1000 points, the CQ Ranking by 500 etc and if you look at the PCS rankings at the end of each past season apart from his season and a half off, he's the top rider in a lot of them and if he's not he's top 5 or thereabouts.

Great rides by the danish team, Breschel in 4th and Valgren in that breakaway. Really impressive! |

I did (surprising, i know).
His whole autumn was terrible and WC was not an exception, i was pretty surprised to see him hanging on so long to be honest. He says that this season was not very good for him and finish of the season was very very bad. He also says he is happy to finish the WC without falling and is looking forward to 2015 now.
I just came back from holiday to watch the Elite race and it was pretty boring until the last round. Perfect race from whole Polish team, Kwiatek only rider in the field with the balls, so deserved winner.
Spain sucks with tactics like always, Danes were very good and visible.
Special mention has to go to Petr Vakoč, who was working for Štybar and in the end finished 29th as best czech cyclist in his first WT year. And he was still available for U23 category, great result! (like Valgren).

If you guys are wondering how did Polish fans feel yesterday, here's a sample https://www.cyclin...win-138250
Get your loudspeakers ready and enjoy
PS. The loudest shouts are made by Cezary Zamana and Dariusz Baranowski - both pro riders themselves.

stem is love, stem is life

I can't hate on Froome because of his riding style. personally I don't mind it really and *whispers* I also spend most of my riding time looking at my stem except when having hard headwind, then I ride like Horner on a climb

I am the only one that really has a great style. Mainly because I always go "standing on the pedals" and I look like Contador. The problem arises when i don't go standing on the pedals

I just crashed with my bike 2 days ago, and i think the bike is broken. So i went running, and found out, that i am the Chris Froome of running, because i look even more on the ground, as he looks on his stem... :/
