Just came home and watched the last lap in replay. Seems like I didn't need to see anything else. Guess it that was the expected borefest?
Thank God Gerrans didn't win, which is the synonym for a borefest victory. Hell yeah Kwiatkowski, getting in the downhill.

Surprising performance by Degenkolb. When you are ill 3 days before the race, and you still finish 8th...great race from him.

undeserved, the Zubeldia-award should be for being invisable and achieving something, they failed to do so.
True, they didn't live up to the achieving-part of it, but the invisibility... that should almost be enough to hand it to them |

Wouldn't call the action at 67 km to go borefest

Nice to see an attack rewarded and a likeable guy winning after his team rode for so long earlier on too. |

Like I said, havn't seen it and will read up the details maybe later. With so many riders still upfront and in contention at start of last lap, I just thought that hardly anything happened and pace was too slow to create major splits.

What an incredible ride by Paterski to help Kwiatkowski today. This guy should ride in WT. |

You can skip to the last lap and not miss anything of real significance

I just wanna come back to that moment with 140 km to go, when Kwiato for a minute took the lead on the downhill to the finish line - like he knew what is gonna happen and what he's going to do.
PS.

Yup, in the end it had no significance. But it was exciting enough to earn this race the right not be called a borefest.

exaggerating is also a job who was it again that lead the peloton over the final climb? https://www.youtu...dWQ1w#t=59
propably the only time we've seen someone dutch. I was going to suggest giving the award to Rui Costa but apparently he's right behind Mollema
but have you seen the US anywhere?

When your team featuring Talansky and Van Garderen is riding for Brent Bookwalter, you don't expect much.

Just watching that video: did I just hear Liggett saying that Gerrans is 'the most shrewdest tactician in bike races'?
Not only is that gross misuse of the English language, but also hilarious in its staggering inaccuracy.

Staggeringly inaccurate? He is pretty good at placing himself in the right place in a race

Surely Valverde has some record for podiums at the World Championships now, without ever winning.

Quite probably, have to wonder how the history books will remember him. Possibly the best rider in the last 10 years in terms of consistency but very few wins in big races. |

Wow, 2x LBL winner and a Vuelta. Not exactly earth shattering, more impressive are the things he hasn't won. |
