Hesjedal Wins in Britain!
While I've been on my mid season break, Ryder has been over at the TDF. With the help of Andrew, he managed to win stage 2 of the TDF this year! Unfortunately, no time gaps were counted, so he is still behind on GC, but it's not great to get a win and the team is feeling great over in France!
Meanwhile, it's been a bit since I've updated you guys. I rode at the Irish NC's, but there were no TV pictures. It ended up being a sprint, so Sam Bennet took it. I didn't have much of a shot.
Anyway, I hope to talk to you guys soon and update you on how the team goes in France!

Don't know how long this has been back? But that doesn't matter much
Great to see Hesj take 2 stages, maybe he can fight for a top 5 over there! |

It's kind of back whenever I have time or motivation to play through 3 months that Dan isn't a part of.
And I hope so! Thanks for commenting!

Thanks for the support guys! Glad to know people are still interested in this story!
I will have a lot of time this week to play through the TDF, then i have a busy 2 weeks from school. So look for the story to continue again with Dan's racing some time in early May.

The Tour de France is over, and the results are in. Chris Froome easily took the Tour, taking it by over 8 minutes to Nairo Quintana and Alberto Contador.
But as for Garmin, we did very well. Ryder and Andy did some amazing work, finishing 4th and 10th respectively, through their consistent and tag team approach. The team also got into a lot of breaks, and Tyler got a lot of high places on stages.
It was a great race to watch, and the team are very happy with their results. AN interesting note, is that on the final stage, Yukiya Arashiro stole the show from the sprinters, winning via a late km attack on the Champs Elysees. It was quite a finish!
For me, it's on the way to the Tour de Pologne. I've been training a bit, but I'm really just getting ready to start my fall classics campaign!

Well, after enjoying the last month on my couch, watching my teammates ride their bikes, I'm back on mine for the Tour de Pologne! I've won this race before, so it always will hold a special place for me.
The parcours are simple. Half flat, half very hilly. I doubt I can make a run at GC, but maybe if I ride into a bit of form, I'll try my luck in a hilly stage.
Obviously Pologne has it's six rider team, so that's what we bring. Nobody is really in shape this time of year, so no one is our distinct leader. Without a leader, everyone has some free reign.
| Steele Von Hoff | Sprinter | | Daniel Martin | Free Element | | Rohan Dennis | Free Element | | Nick Nuyens | Free Element | | Ramunas Navardauskus | Free Element | | Nathan Brown | Free Element |
A lot of strong sprinters on the start list, but not a lot of GC guys. Rafal Majka will be looking to do well as a leader in his home country. He likely has better form than rest of us.
Well, not it's time to get racing! I'm excited to be back on my bike and in the thick of things!

Tour de Pologne - Stage 1
A token flat stage. The little bumps on the profile won't mean anything.
Edvald Boassen Hagen fell early in the race. That was the most action in the first part of the race.
The break still wasn't away at the intermediate sprint, Viviani nipped Coquard.
The sprint trains got ready as they approached the banner.
Viviani, Kristoff, and Degenkolb launched their sprints. We had Von Hoff and Ramunas freelancing to get a good wheel.
Degenkolb got a perfect leadout and held it. Kristoff and Viviani followed. Von Hoff and Navardauskus both managed to snag top 10s for the team.

A good start for Garmin. Lets hope Von Hoff can improve and maybe even grab a victory!

Tour de Pologne - Stage 2
A pan flat stage; another one for the sprinters.
Breakaways exist. But not for too long.
Katusha took to the front. We tried to keep our guys around.
Ramunas and Steele were both positioned well, so we tried out a makeshift leadout. They went a bit early though.
Everyone launched the sprint, and Steele was kind of getting swamped. Looks like he went just a bit early.
Kristoff won the sprint, with Steele falling fast back to 9th place.
