When speaking abou rubbing the faces, i am having shipped now the i7 with 16GB Ram and GeForce680, so i am looking forward to play on extreme graphics once again, after having problems with Pcm 12.
It is a desktop of course, there is nothing like gaming laptop, that is just advertisment...
Also from where is that info about new difficulty? Because i would be looking forward to it very much ,as the game with my favourite strong teams is sometimes too unchallenging on extreme.

On the topic of system requirements: What about maximum graphics settings with the PCMDaily DB?
I remember when I tried to do max settings in PCM11 with the Daily DB, my game crashed very very often. This wasn't because of my PC (i5-2500k, Sapphire 6950 2GB, 8 GB RAM, Crucial M4 SSD, Z68 motherboard) but according to the forum this was because the Daily DB was so big, combined with the fact that PCM can't handle large DB's on high settings.
I think it was Cruetrue that explained to me that even though my PC was fast and strong enough, the scale of the DB meant that PCM would crash if I turned my settings high, because PCM wasn't programmed to deal with large DB's on max settings.
Some examples we discussed back then were the fact that PCM was 32-bit software, so it couldn't actually use more than 1.8GB of RAM, even though I had 8.
Have you guys tried the Daily DB on max settings in PCM12 and had crashes? Or do you think crashes will still happen in PCM13 with max setttings and the Daily DB?

As far as I know, crashes have only got to do with the DB when it comes to new stuff the DB uses in 3D (and nothing to do with number of teams, riders, etc), at least assuming you're talking about 3D crashes. And indeed, it didn't matter the computer you had, the game would crash if the 1.8 GB RAM limit was reached. However, this limit has been increased in PCM12, so the game's less likely to crash because of that.
As for what does the DB in 3D add that could make the game crash, it's mainly new equipment (in the Off. Release there are e.g. only 8 different textures for frames, while in Daily you could have more than 20 loaded in a race), more rider faces, etc.
This (performance side-effects) is the reason for two of the 2013 DB Extras: the no-equipment version is for those who want some more performance and don't care as much for equipment, and the faces pack is only included as an extra and not in the main download because it makes the game heavier and imo, unlike equipment, doesn't add that much (you can only see the details when you are really zoomed into a rider's face, which I guess isn't the most used camera angle, and even then several riders aren't much distinguishable because of PCM12's rider/face model).
So to sum up, crashes are less likely in PCM13 because of the RAM limit that has been increased. If they still happen, though, then you'd have to make a choice between lower graphical settings, less equipment, no faces, etc, that's a game limit and there's not much that can be done about it. But tbh, I don't think it should crash often. The reports of 3D crashes have been considerably lower in PCM12 than in PCM11~earlier iirc
@superider2010: did you try replacing your Local.cdb (to get back to how it was before your changes)? Local.cdb does have something to do with difficulty, but changing graphical settings shouldn't affect anything on it.

Well, assuming that the new difficulty affects the gameplay like the current difficulties (a bonus or penalty on AI stats), it probably won't be anything that isn't achievable today by editing Local.cdb -> STA_race_difficulty (editing the coefficients of bonus/penalty of AI stats per difficulty). Pelizzoti used this some time ago I think to play his story in "Extreme+"
As it was explained in a previous post, it is now possible to play or to “fast forward” a whole stage. Consequently, we had to update some mechanics already present in the game, such as the “rider switch”.
In the previous TdF games, we could switch rider between 2 sections. This possibility had been included for 3 reasons:
-creating more complex strategies. For example, go on breakaway with a rider during the 1st section, harden the race in the 2nd section with another teammate and, in the last section, attack with your leader and try to win with the help of your rider who has escaped during the 1st section.
-giving a new opportunity if the planned strategy fails. Indeed, in the previous example, if the breakaway did not succeed in the 1st section, it would have been very frustrating to have to finish the stage with a tired rider who has no more hope to win.
-and finally, the most important reason is to allow the player to be at the heart of the action.
Since there is no section allowing the “rider switch”, this possibility had to be updated, it was impossible to remove it from the game. Rather than being obliged to wait a precise moment, we let this option available at any moment: you just have to use teamcom to display your teammates on the screen and select the one you want to control.
Giving this opportunity allows to be always at the heart of the action and to control all the moments of the race. For example, on a flat stage, in the last 10 kilometers, if you think that you don’t have enough time to resist to the comeback of the peloton, you can take the control of your sprinter in order to try to win rather than watching the peloton overtake your exhausted rider.
Here a screen of the new teamcom (menu allowing to switch rider or to give orders)
We don't want more info about PCM 2013 but we want less info about TDF 2103.
I guess we could even live with zero (0) info about TDF 2013 because this thread is about PCM 2013, which can easily be verified by looking at the thread title.

I would want infos about the TDF 2103, it would be pretty interesting!
But yeah, this thread should be kept for PCM 2013.
So I've been analyzing the live stream deeper and deeper, watched it many times already I found something interesting for PCM 13! (well, less interesting for those with good pc's which can download PCM.Daily's espansion pack, but good news for those of us that only use a realname database)
Take a look at this screen (stage-mode)
It says 2013 in the right top corner, with arrows, so there will be variants in the game at the time of release, I believe!
These arrows also appear at the World Championships (luckily!!)
Cool! But I guess it's just 1 variant, say, Cyanide brought out a Cyanide variant pack, but right from the start
Also, those things on the right, does that mean that you can play custom tours of every race as well? (First stage 4 TdF, then stage 7 TdF, then Stage 14 TdF and then Champs, to make a 4 stage-tour, for example?).
Maybe this was already announced, and maybe I see this wrong anyway, but I only knew that that would happen for TdF 2013, not PCM 2013. Or did I miss something(haven't watched whole stream f.e., skipped some things)

You've always been able to select/deselect stages in stage race mode. So you have always been able to play a totally flat Tour for example. Those symbols are different...
Will investigate on release day live for you
