I can only speak from experience. When I messed with numbers (increasing the amount of riders), the WC races would crash. It was OK as long as I switched two nations' allocations (e.g. 9 for Colombia, 4 for France), but whenever it didn't add up in the same way as before, it'd crash.
Now this may have been changed in PCM12 (or I may have screwed it up in the past), so it's worth a check anyhow. |

There's no need to post in 2 threads and I'm pretty sure it does.

the youngrider XMLS need a lot of improvement
Just checked my savegame, there are 2 potential 7 riders, 1 tour, 1 climber who have high climbing but extremely limited hilly potential (62 hill)
that should be ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE for such potentials
hell even a potential 5 tour rider or climber should have hill stats close to his MO stat, otherwise you'll wreck the balance completely.
Neesd to be looked at. Perhaps I'll do it myself. |

If anyone can attach the xml files, I can look into it as well. Bored at the office and all the tools available to check out / edit xml |

Hi! I remember making some changes to these files, not because of those evolution limits, but related to the initial stats of young cyclists who are quite unrealistic.
Never a 20 years cyclist appeared in his first season with 76-78 stats.
In my opinion, a rider with high potential with 20-21 years should have no more than 73 and a rider with 18-19 years a maximum of 70 in stats.
I'd like to see these changes being implemented in the Daily DB, although there are some players who like these cyclists with high values. |

In the Daily DB, it's max 74 for a 21-year old and max 71 for an 18-year old, so that's already implemented.

Alright, my work is done and I have fixed the TypeRider xml files. They can be found in the attachment.
Note that I've implemented a maximum stat of 82, so Superman will not exist when you use these files. Potential will also mean more now that the randomness of stats will be much less.
On top of that, I've upgraded fighters a bit on mountains and hills, so they will be more competitive in races where they would realistically have their best chances. The best ones will turn out more like Voeckler, Sanchez, Casar, Voigt, Fedrigo etc... now.
In order to use these files, just overwrite the files with the same names in the XML folder of PCM 2012. Backing up the originals is a good practice though, so you can always go back in the unlikely situation that the changes will mess something up.
I don't know about compatibility with ongoing careers, but I would assume that already generated riders won't be affected and new ones will develop according to the new files. If you want to try this, make sure to not only backup the old files, but also your career!
Feel free to integrate the files in any future PCM.Daily release or release them seperately as an Extra. Happy to help

Cool work
Tbh I like the occasional eddy-merckx-superfreak. So I'll do a minor modification that makes it possible for a freak of nature to occur once in 10 years

Sorry for the long radiosilence at my end. I've been too busy at work lately. I was already pretty far... but I didn't get around to finish it.
I've created the 2013 calendar, altered all the program_info... so that is done. In the attached .cdb is the work so far. I'm still in the proces of altering the fitness_program's. I want to link the fiteness program to the leader_specialization and build it up from there. I hope to get arround to it this weekend.
Have a peek and tell me what you think of it.

I'm close to finishing the new fitness program's. When this is finished the 2013DB has the new (current corrected) race dates, all the race programs are altered and the fitness programs are modified to the new calendar. It would be nice if some of you could test it and post the top20 results of the World Tour races... I will do the same, but the more test-results, the better. Any volunteers?

Will do. I had started playing with the one before without the fitness schedules but will wait on this one. Can probably get through some tomorrow if you post later today. |

Played around with your prior version and got through mid-march. Rather than posting the top 20's I dumped the results into excel from the CDB file and coded the time gaps.
This way you get all the races and all the results. You can filter on the race to look at a race but also by filtering on a rider you can see exactly what they rode. If you like this I can run through a season and create one file with all the results when you have the new version.
Cut out sprint points, mountains etc. assuming you just want overall results.
Don't think it is going to attach here however, shoot me a PM and I can email it. |
