Cav was stronger than Sagan today.
If you mean physically, maybe. Or maybe not. But cycling isn't JUST about legs. Riders aren't donkeys, there are other elements that come into play. Tactics, positioning etc... If you're the strongest physically but get your tactics or your positioning wrong, you won't win. And vice-versa.
Other than for an accident like idk, some dog crossing the road, the best on the day always wins because to be the best on the day, you have to be a combination of strong and smart. Not necessarily the strongest or the smartest, but the best average of the two 
Side note: hurray for the French who managed to make a total mess of the WC once again :/ |

So, Velo d'Or for Froome or 2agan? Both with amazing seasons. Whilst Froome has the TdF and 2nd at Vuelta going for him plus a olympic bronze medal (but it's in the time trial, so.. not that awesome really..), 2agan was consistent all the time and had three major highlights (Flanders, Green + 3 stages, WC).

Hard race today..you have to admire Cav. how he managed to keep himself inside very selected group.
Sagan is worthy world champion..he is best man to wear and be visibly again at the next year.
Cav. damn he was good today..Sagan was lucky to slip true barriers and Nizzolo. Cav was on he's wheel and chosed other side. It was only possible option..he was bit stuck behind Matthews..then he was again fastest man. But to late. Sagan played him out today.
Tommeke..I really like that guy, amazing bike rider, legend already..and I am really happy to see him at podium again. |

Has to be Sagan for the Vélo d'Or imho..
And i don't think Sagan was "lucky to slip through", the guy has a consistent record of excellent positioning. After a while, luck isn't an explanation anymore, it has to be skill |

Aside from Laporte who outclasses the competition so much he probably won't be counted. Sagan deserves it 100% but it tends to be biased towards the TDF winner, so I guess chances are Froome will get it.

Are you serious? A random domestique shouldn't wear the rainbow jersey for a whole season, its reserved for the best riders in the world. Not a by accident-attack from Leezer in the desert of Qatar.
If he was strong enough to hold up in that spot then he totally deserves it.

Its a personal preference. Leezer winning would just about have capped off the worst Worlds for me, a random guy you'll never see wearing the stripes. |
