General Transfer Discussion (2016)

Btw, when Meintjes is maxed he'll look like this:

Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
718077717776 78576165717471

Question is, how do I train him in one season to make him Top 10 GT material. 82Mo?
And then after that? 83Mo, 72TT?

Depth is out of this world with great support for all leaders. Swift will surely deliver. Keizer better just solely be riding either uphill for 5k+ or against the clock.

Not quite finished yet, but barring one or two additions this is how Ayubowan! 2016 will look. Quite happy with transfers so far, bringing in more quality than I let go, and making my team stronger than in past years. Plus I have a lot of talents on board, so the future looks good as well.

Don't think I'll be able to achieve my Top 5 goal looking at the influx into the division of top climbers and puncheurs, but Top 10 should be achievable and it's not the end of the world if I don't promote anyway.

I like to think I profited too and got some great riders Pfft

Great squad you've assmelbed there. I too think that promotion will be a close call this season but if not, then surely next one. Gautier should score plenty, Pinot too. Bibby and Bellis are two great additions. Espeically Bibby follows closely the LLS-scoring pattern, so there are lots of suprirse possible here. Yates is a steal.

This looks like the squad that will try to keep me up in the PT this season, with 1 rider still to be confirmed. The obvious strength is the hills, with Ponzi leading the way. He's our only real top-tier leader so there will be a large weight on his shoulders to dominate that terrain and provide a large points base for the rest of the team. He also has some strong domestiques in Venter and Kwiatkowski.

On other terrains I'll be relying on my other riders to scrape together as many top-20 and top-15 finishes as they can to provide a steady flow of points when Ponzi isn't racing. I'm hopeful with some good race planning guys like Kwiatkowski and Kudus can get some strong GC finishes, maybe a top 10 in one or two races where competition isn't too high.

Overall not too confident of staying up. If Ponzi somehow performs a clean sweep on the hills and I get some other above-par performances from my other riders it could be possible. If we do go down at least I will be able to get my revenge by unleashing Ponzi on the PCT division Pfft

I'll warn you now that my strategy last time I was in PT was to do the same, and it didn't pan out. I'm not saying that yours won't, but just be prepared for the possibility of a long season.

Not looking to promote this season and with the influx of climbers it is very unlikely. I hope Ricco can outscore many of the rest with his magic Mou/Hill combo. Don't really have a sprinter to score points either. Hopefully Hoffman can find some form again, but not betting on it.

Eastman and Ratiy will find it difficult to score a lot with the current field (Ratiy especially). Ben Nasser is good and should score, but like I said, there's some serious competition in hills too!

All in all, looking for a top 10 finish to achieve one of my goals. Next season I'll have a maxed Meintjes and it will be awesome to build a team around him. Will probably ship out most foreigners and limit them to Americans/Oceania riders.

That's one nice looking team mate. Your climbing department is PT worthy, and you have also a pretty nice hilly section. Having also a good TT(T) setup will help on several occassions. You do lack a good sprinter and a good cobbler, but I suspect you don't have too many of those races.

I would be very surprised if a team like that won't feature in the top 5.

You'll definately need to make him 82MO as quickly as possible to make him a top 10 GT candidate as there are several 81MO riders with better TT and some even also better in hills. And yet they struggle to be anything but thereabouts. And I think the competition is getting stronger and stronger.

So you should make him 82MO imo - But if you expect to make him better in hills and TT aswell you could save quite a bit of money by training that first Smile His OVL will rise if you train +2MO I suspect.

You'll probably need Ponzi to perform atleast what he did last season to stay up, and that's not all too realistic imo. I have a hard time finding riders to score points and top 15-20 results are not enough in the PT - Ayubowan! proved that last season, so you definately need a strong Ponzi. Or perhaps train some of your other guys.

I like your team very much though.

Quite concerned to how this season will be. Despite the signing of Duarte, who should be a better second man then Pedraza was last year to bring points, we should still be in relegation fight.

We dropped Machado and Rizza, so that's two mans out of the Cabrera train already, and despite still having Dall'Antonia and Cardoso, the second will for sure leave, so Mora and Sepuvelda should be the first man of the train. Obviously, as south american team, screw cobbles

Hills department is not very good as well. Grippo is the new "leader" for that, but he's not going to be good enough to fight for PCT hilly classics, maybe not even top 15 seeing as Becerra did the past two years for us...

Only just!

Rujano and Duarte are a nice pair of climbers and you've got some impressive depth for the mountains. Hills will be the worry though, might have to rely on Pirazzi's impressive fighter stat for some breakaway success Pfft

So perhaps I've got the best cobbled South American squad? Grin

Since everyone seems to be doing it at the moment I though I'll present this season CT-dominating squad Pfft. Note that I'm still looking to add one climber to the squad:

Definitely think we're able to fight for promotions spots. But I thought that last year as well and look where we finished Pfft

nice team! you'll struggle a bit in the mountains but you have a nice stable core of puncheurs and sprinters, Id be surprised if you didnt promote

Shonak
If Drapac reaches Lavoine / Serebriakov' heights this season than yes, maybe promo. Very strong sprinter core so you'll need to do on those flat stages. Seeing how Selwink's Serebriakov scored like 3 pts in the first season and then a billion more the next year, I hope the deciding factor of it all will be on your side.

Pretty nice team Marco, you've got a great sprinter base and some decent puncheurs (Lejman's worth almost nothing though), I'd be surprised if you didn't make the top ten at least this season, as well as a good shot at promotion.

I guess we are near enough done and nothing big is going to come into the team.

So...

Looking at our team I'd say we are just not good enough to stay in the Division I basically tried everything to get another rider in after Phinney but it was always going to be a struggle with his wage and in the end this was the best I could do.

Really I think it's going to be when Phinney is racing we can win the rest of the team it's pot luck and breakaways
