So no NCs for TomTom this year. Shame.
Yeah we were doomed when it turned out to be a hilly NC. We're chanceless on that.
And yeah, NL has a big field and favourites do actually have a chance in fields of this size

For a moment I thought Maaskant could make it.

Ah we can now look for Nederland jersey finishing in the midfield of PT stage races and classics

I hate my team. No early break, no mid attack, not giving a shit in the finale. It's just a home nationals and five riders...
The ITT though is great. Well done Keizer. |

Pretty exciting Road Race in the Netherlands, the bigger race work a lot better.

I fear the day the Japanese NC is posted and I dont have a PM saying "congratulations you have won a bet" Its more stressing than my midterms.

Well. Sorry to tell you. But I hope to see such a PM then.
But normally I am for your team. Honestly. |

Too bad Warbasse couldnt quite catch up or that Newton couldn't do it either!
A pity that one of code's last acts as MG manager was to make his riders eligible for this - but it guarantees a couple of interesting bidding battles over Americans in the transfers.
And even though I know he has sometimes been ineligible due to being World Champion, I was quite surprised that Phinney has never been American time trial champion.

Tell you what, I won't update the bet until after you've commented on the race in this thread

I really thought Newton had it on the downhill attack. It would have been so magical, and then I remembered... This is Newton. Just when things look promising something happens to slap him in the face and bring him back to reality.
Doesn't matter if it's in The Comeback or the Man-Game.

Great, great racing in the Netherlands, and finally something from Gesink this season, congratulations alexkr00!
He just needs a little bit of training now and I'm sure we can finally see Gesink consistently fight for the top placings
Also cool to see Carlsberg do the double in Denmark, which wasn't obvious at all looking at the startlist, I thought. |

Disappointed to see Gesink and Posthuma losing by that margin the time - trial. It's a real shame Posthuma couldn't make it five in row but I guess it was a long shot anyway.
Still, fantastic to see Gesink finally getting the national champion jersey!
Thanks for the congrats and of course to tsmoha for another great report

It's Bizarre that the dutch were not bizarre. It's also bizarre that their NC jersey will get so much air time next season, when its wearer spends so much time on the ground

Well Rosskopf is a decent rider - so should be an interesting scramble for him and Cruz as well in the Free agency. Certainly two riders putting themselves in the shop window.
I did enjoy the US championships but I guess it is a bit disappointing not to get a decent battle between favourites.
