Pogacar is kinda scaring me as he looks very shaky and making some weird decisions. Still in a good position for now, but I'm not confident going into the final two stages.

Areruya really going for it all but not getting the time gaps. Not sure how I'll end up feeling if he wins another sprint tomorrow and then slips in the GC on the last day which seems a very possibly outcome - three stages, green, maybe KoM, but not our big goal or the GC points we need. Would be hard to fault him. Two of the biggest days of our season coming up.
Fouche shocking but guess he must have helped Areruya conserve energy quite well.

Aular seemed to be riding quite decent, very attentive but unable to make the difference with some other riders in the end. A shame there aren't more time gaps, hopefully he can perform similar on the final stage and not do anything stupid tomorrow/tonight on the sixth stage. Thanks for the great report to Sean, and congratulations on another Areruya victory to jandal

Some good stage results so far, but not the ideal start for Prado to be dropped on Stage 2. Cort is doing well but I think 15th to 20th on GC is the realistic target, with Prado hopefully not too far behind. |

A pity Aular just couldn't hold on, but at least he stays 9th in GC. Ideally he would gain a place or two in the final stage, but in general we can't be too mad about a ninth place here in this field, so as long as he doesn't tumble in GC (as well as Osorio and Lopez Nolasco keep their placings), we will leave this race content. Let's find out tomorrow. Congratulations to jandal on another win and the GC lead, and thank you sean for the great report

Good effort from Cort and Prado there, hopefully the former may be able to hold onto a GC top 10 and the latter climb into the top 20 on the final day. |

Not great to lose time there. Galta looked strong throughout, but then clearly couldn't keep up with the acceleration of the better punching climbers as things flattened out. Now a top 5 seems very unlikely, and holding position is probably a more reasonable goal. Unfortunate given how attentive he's been throughout. Gregaard and Aranburu are at least still in solid depth spots, hopefully they can maintain or even improve on that on the final day.

Another win and finally into yellow is great to see, but a combined 0s in gaps from all the hill/medium mountain stages isn't good enough I fear. Mont Blanc seems very tough to hang with Morton on a good day, but counting all the possible fatigue it's an insane ask. Normally I could hope for 3rd, maybe 2nd if you can keep Padun within 30-40 seconds depending on bonuses. But with fatigue and a bad day a lot of the Top 10 could end up overtaking. Who knows - a huge day for us coming up.

I would've taken 5th for Pogacar before the race. I just felt he was always there, but always short and actually so close to finishing 3rd or 4th, never happened though
We needed every point he got us, because our depth here was truly horrendous. We'll take the points we got and hopefully those stand us in good stead as we're quickly running out of scoring races.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to cycleYorkshire on a deserved victory

Ki Ho Choi!
Good job on Stage 6 by our leader to stay with the leading group. He did an even better job to go early and then grind everyone barring Morton down to take 2nd on the stage and jump to 4th in the GC. Good depth points for us but we could've got a bit more I guess. Still very happy with how this turned out.
Congrats to ryant on the GC. Hard on jandal to lose the lead at the last moment (Choi getting 2nd probably was the reason in the end ) but still a great race for him as well
Thanks for the reports Sean!

Thanks for the reports Sean and congrats to all winners!
This was always a write-off but I do believe Bennett scored a point!

Rough one for Xero here, we need to figure out how to solve gaps on hill stages because they're just not selective enough.
Thanks for the reports, was a fun race to follow though!

Invisible outside of van der Kooij's sprints. We definitely could have tried to get into some breakaways with no GC hopes.

For a moment it looked like Galta might have used his team to launch off into greatness. Unfortunately he just didn't have the legs in the end. A somewhat underwhelming finish to an overall great season by him, but he just ran out of steam. 8th is around the bottom of the acceptable range of outcomes for Galta's GC here, given the field, although points wise it's at least better that a lot of the guys above him are PCT and won't be competing in the rankings.
That said, Gregaard's superdomestique work has certainly not gone to waste here. To finish 12th on GC is a huge boon for us. When you combine 8th and 12th, you get a points total almost equivalent to a podium. Obviously that's not how scoring really works because it took another rider spot, but given our usual lack of depth over the years, we can take that as a bonus. Gregaard has been a stud all year - hope to see him attacking soon at the Tour. Add Aranburu's minor placing and our team's classification win, and we didn't score terribly here. I would have liked a couple of better results for sure, but at least we shouldn't lose much ground here.
Congrats to ryant and thanks for the great reports!

Aular did exactly what I hoped! Good from him to stay on until the end and gain two spots in the GC. Nice to see Osorio hang on quite a while as well and score some minor ranking points with his 28th in GC. Nothing spectacular of course, but always nice to see a self raised little man do relatively well. In the end we'll leave this race with like +-15 pprd, which is definitely decent for us with the riders we brought here. Quispe scoring some KoM-points with his attack on the second stage once again proves what an amazing rider he is, and that his versatility knows no limits. What a legend.
Congratulations to ryant on the stage and GC win, and to others who did well. Good to see Choi doing quite good as well here.
Thank you for the great reports, sean

Shame to see Cort losing ground on the final stage, but with Prado moving up the GC we come out of the race with decent scoring overall. Thanks for the reports and congrats to ryant! |

Morton, yes!!!
Sorry to see Arureya lose out in the end, truly a stud of a rider but I'd like to think 3 stages a jersey win and 2nd overall is more than enough compensation for you.
As for us, that's his first race win in our colours which just about saves his season after a rather anonymous Vuelta. A stage win as well makes the win even more sweet - thanks to Choi for helping us out as well
Thanks for the reports Sean and congrats to everyone who got something this race, including Polar and Latour.
