Oh dear, most of the track TT riders making it through that stage isn't ideal. Glad I didn't send Lutsenko here.

First challenging PT stage, none of my guys in the top 100 on the hills.
I guess it doesn't really matter now. 25th or 105th is basically the same when you're all on the same time. Now up to Kamna to capitalize. Although with all the pure TT guys also making the cut, we can't really hope for anything big now. Hopefully a top, idk, 15? 20? Top 10 would be awesome, but very unlikely now.

Major bummer that 167 rider same-timing. Glad I'm not here looking for points. Phinney still not getting older it seems. Congrats on the win.expecting another one tomorrow!

That was a brilliant first sprint for Max Kanter!
Thanks for the kind words on the leadout, that wasn't an expected outcome of this lineup, but certainly a well-received one.
We likely won't see that combination any more, but I'm confident that homegrown Joris Nieuwenhuis can fulfill the Ganna role here at least as well.
As for stage 2, mixed feelings. Obviously Ganna is very much still in the mix now, but literally everyone else is as well...
We have brought a fully TT-focused team here outside of Kanter, so I hope that some random depth points will come in alongside whatever Filippo can deliver.
With the randomness of this race known in advance, no GC outcome will be too disappointing, particularly with the points we are already guaranteed from the sprint.

The lack of action means that we benefit from another day in yellow + green which isn't to be sniffed at. Was really expecting for more separation on this stage given previous outcomes. Had been hoping to see at least the 1-D TT riders knocked out of the GC equation to give more all-rounders a chance at top 10-20, which would have suited our roster, but not to be. Tomorrow we get the first look at how random or not the TT AI acts.
Phinney doing Phinney things however is no surprise, and hence the GC victory feels all but wrapped up already.

That was a surprise. Phinney should be in control of the GC after that, but certainly a podium seems within reach for Würtz now, even though the TT is a bit shorter than ideal. But come on now, Mads!

Weird to see Pogacar so low in the stage results, but at least he makes the cut. TGH did pretty well, but it doesn't really matter as everything comes down to the TT now. Borisavljevic ended up being a bit of waste here.
Hopefully we have a bit luck and score some good points with the TTers.

"Bjerg is the new GC Minion" really made me laugh Happy for them to have a good start to the season. Cedevita maybe expected a bit more, especially behind Lammertink, who did reasonably well I think. The podium is pretty much exactly as expected, some surprises behind, Cataford perhaps stands out.
Very enjoyable report, thanks for that roturn. Also, those back wheel discs look absolutely sick, another huge shoutout to Oleg there!

More or less the perfect result for us that. Great to get the season going with a win on the first TT of the season. Nothing to do with Phinney GC wise, but 2nd in GC is way above our expectations. That gives us a lot of encouragement for the coming races.
Thanks for the reports, roturn!

Indeed.
The only TTer who did okay was Lammertink and I kinda ended up wasting 3 RDs for both Pogacar and TGH. The final point count is okay, but just okay given the fact the race came down to a single time-trial.

Würtz the New TT king! Somewhat expected results, both for the stage and GC. Congratulations, both jaxika and tastasol.
When the hilly stage went the way it did, I am very happy with Swift and Potts giving us some minor points for the KoM classification! |

Impressed at how irrelevant we were. Good thing we're in PCT I guess.
Congrats on the win jaxika and tastasol!

Oh dear lord...
Not too many of those races, otherwise we'll be dead last in the ranking.

Time - trials are our worst discipline so no surprise we didn't do well here. Phinney already delivering. Congrats, jaxika!
Thanks for the reports!

Once this became a pure TT race, we were always screwed. Not great from Kamna, but way too much competition to expect more. Basically a useless three race days for us. Not the way we wanted to start our PT year, but probably a signal of what's to come.
Thanks for the reports.

I feel robbed from this race. Had there been any sort of gap on stage 2 at any point in the field the result would have been far stronger as we had six guys in the top 30 on that stage with all of them at least average TTers. Considering that Foss had a pretty decent tt, we could have easily scored 100 points more here even without Lopez getting an extra split away from the other podium contender.
The good takeaway from this race is that this sort of lineup seems to keep my guys well positioned to benefit from more favourable splits in similar races which could give some nice depth points in the future.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Cataford rescued that for us with his 5th place, although looking at how De Bie did compared to the other puncheurs it's frustrating to think we could have quite easily had two riders in the top 10 had stage 2 been at all selective. That being said, in point scoring terms the difference isn't huge. Thanks for the reports! |

Obviously a solid and unexpected GC result for Durbridge. Not too happy with the race from a neutral point of view.. but.. WE ain't neutral in this year's PT... sooo..
Thanks for the reports!
