Perhaps it was the train interference, but I'm just gonna assume English did wonders for Vesely. Go Felix!
Stuyven losing time is not a problem, on the contrary, perhaps we will do everything to help Vesely over the hills.

The worst part is probably that he doesn't get a mention anymore when going over the dropped stage favourites.
No mention for Howard either, not a good start
Good to see we’re starting off the exact same way we did last year. That was absolutely pathetic.

Welp, first bad thing of the season. No idea how AKA gets caught behind a split like that with his flat and energy stats, but it happened and we'll have to deal with it. Maybe it has something to do with Jensen being present, but I have to doubt that since it was a pure sprinter's day and the majority of our team got caught behind with him.
Now we'll just have to help Jensen and the other puncheurs make a significant difference on the hills because our hopes of a good GC in a sprinter's race are over.

Jensen cracked hard in the end after looking to be in a good spot going into the climb. As a 3 star favorite, 20th is obviously pretty bad. He managed to stay on the same time, but with the TDU time bonus structure, finishing that far back is a significant loss. A decent GC place basically requires great results on the next two stages now.
On the bright side, Skjelmose is in white!!!

Vesely's GC ambitions in the bin, not that realistic anyway

Great stuff from McCarthy to grab a stage in the first hilltop finish with a small gap to the group as well! Unfortunate to not gain the GC lead, but this sprinter guy did well to just hang on. Credit where credit is due!
Hoping for the queen stage to play out similarly, with Storer paying back for his desastrous GC outing by supporting his captain into a great position for the final kick.

The positives is that Meurisse didn't drop any points and might be able to hold on for a deep GC position. Congrats to tsmoha on a homesoil win!

Seeing the training of a local rider paying off on home soil is just amazing, congrats to Amaysim and McCarthy!
Congrats also to Crabbe, who launch their season pretty much in the best possible way!

Solid ride from Houle. Obviously not nice to lose time and to fail to get big bonuses but 3rd on GC looks alright especially if he can get some better sprint results to come. And what a cool result for our neo-pro Corbin Strong from the breakaway in his first ever race As you said in the report really surprising to see him have that energy (and considering he's 68HI 70ACC even if he had full energy it's surprising) but very nice. Also with van Wilder in the breakaway yesterday was good to see.
Really going to stop rooting for Eislers now, good on him for sprint wins but now he's annoying

Probably the most underwhelming 3rd place ever. Borges not seen until he crossed the line 3rd ahead of the rest of the pack means he would have probably contested the stage with McCarthy if he didn’t decide to sit at the back of the peloton going into the climb. Ugh. Hopefully we can get a little bit of luck on the next two stages.
Thanks roturn.

I stan the McCarthy training and looks like it pays off early! Question is if he can maintain that level throughout the year.
Will always cheer him on!

Sucks for some of the teams with puncheurs that they lost time here today, I hope they can make up for it tomorrow.

Surprised to see Eislers hold on in stage 3, so I can't complain about the time loss in stage 4 Still way above expectations!

Frustrating lack of bonuses, but at least I put the hoodoo on Eislers. I'm now officially not supporting McCarthy, Benoot or Borges either

Solid depth scoring here. Massive win for Zara congrats LLS! Kennaugh continues his trend of finishing second in bunch sprints, but at least Dzama puts 4 points on the table as well, but have traded those points for a stage win from Kennaugh 100%.
