Well done by Stake to stay in contention. Excited for what his GC position might look like after the TT, eventhough we need a great daily form. Had hoped to see Amezawa among the aggressive riders on the final hill there, but hopefully that was his bad day. If so, the final two stages could be a lot of fun.
Thank you for the report! |

Good to see the stage was a little animated. Congrats to Bushwackers on the win!
Jensen with another solid ride. Eddie doing well again, hopefully he doesn’t shit the bed in the TT tomorrow like he did in Malaysia. Hopefully he can sneak his way into the top-10 or 15 tomorrow before the final stages.
Thanks for the report

We've been involved on both stages 2 and 3 but no time improvements so far. A bit worried Kelderman will now be too far back after the ITT for him to make any impact in the final two stages but let's see.
Congrats to the winners and thanks for the reports Nemo

Fun race to this point, thank you Nemo. And thanks for the congrats. Ponzi showing he still has some left in the tank, at least in the PCT

Maybe I should have brought a sprinter. Two hills days both unselective. Lots of aggression from puncheurs, but it amount to nothing.
I can't complain since that keeps Warbasse in a decent position time wise ahead of the TT. Now he's gotta execute. TT's are an area where, unlike mountains, he's tended to underperform with me. We'll see if he can reverse that trend here. Would nice to see him slot into a nice minor GC spot.

Wow, are some time gaps really too much to ask for?

We've been really lucky to keep 2 podium places at this point. The TT should help us I guess, but at this rate I find it very unlikely either of our leaders to end up in a meaningful position after the last couple of stages.
Congrats to UBS for the win,

Absolute DESTRUCTION. noone's even CLOSE, we are way too good it's not fair to have a team so incredible. Gesink will probably win in the end but it's clear who the actual winners are regardless of final GC standings.

Ok-ish time trial by Oomen, now let's attack those two summit finishes!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ok. Let's support a lvl 3 rider as our GC hope, because we don't have anything better to do here

As expected...
Now we have two stages to claw back the gap for Hagen while also looking to keep Haga high up in the GC. Will require some juggling to get this right.

Balloni and Rekita slightly too slow for stage points, guess that's pretty realistic. Pretty disappointed by the younger riders, though, especially given that the likes of Pogacar or even Carapaz did better... Guess conditions were slightly changing, as always. TT bingo ^^
But wtf is Moscon doing there? Sure, he's no good TTer, but that result is close to refusal to work... Well, guess PCM20 doesn't like him, and tries to show it on every single stage in this race. What a (inexplicable) contrast to Southland...
Btw, who has broken Bobridge? A shame to see him doing such a horrible job...

Good stuff by Fiedler, gives me hope for races where pure TTers ride for the GC. Not so great by Rosskopf, he continues to disappoint on long-ish flat TTs. We need to be better than 27th in the GC (though 28th by Hadi is solid), not too confident that Rosskopf is strong enough on the hills to improve.
Congrats to quadsas, that's one deadly combination.

Really disappointing from Warbasse, damn. Finishing behind a bunch of guys with no time trial skill whatsoever, as I feared. Similarly for Sterobo who clearly had an off day.
Not sure where we go from here. Eg had a nice day and is now our best rider in 23rd. Similarly Roe impressed once again. But those guys are the domestiques. Them being our best riders right now is not a good thing because they have very little chance to survive the next two stages. I'm not exactly sure how we can go about this in a way that makes sense from here. Maybe just send Aranburu up the road and let the others stay sit in the wheels, see who holds on.
Congrats to quadsas, domination once again.

We've not been too impressive I've got to be honest. Still, we have two in the top 10 but Fraile probably should have done a much better time trial. The last two stages should be the most selective so I can only hope we don't lose out on a decent race result here.

Good TT by Stake, which is encouraging! Amezawa lost lots of time, as expected, really. Now he needs to bounce back in the final two stages, which looks super hard. Really, really hope he's' allowed to go for it by the AI, and not be Stake's domestique.
Obviously Stake's GC hope also looks good, as he could do a top 10 or even more if he gets lucky with daily forms, but it's still kind of close. I mean, still a rider like Amezawa, with his really poor TT, is less than 2 minutes behind, and that advantage could disappear really quickly on those final climbs, both on stage 5 and 6.
Thank you for the report, and congratulations to quadsas on a monumental stage! |

Gesink doing well I guess, but not too shabby. Disappointed in Barbio actually. This should have been a good stage for him.
Congrats on the win quadsas. That's quite the duo you got there!

As dreadful as it could get. But Stage 6 could still save us as gap to 3rd is tiny, just need to climb a few places for an overall great tour

This is pretty much why I brought the big guns. The harder we can make the race, the bigger advantage Oomen has over the puncheurs. I got really scared when Novak attacked, but somehow it worked out ok. Now we need to find 10 seconds somewhere tomorrow..
