Vosekalns seems to have had a +5 day based on how good he climbed with the top climbers but on a day where it had little effect unless he does the same on the remaining stages.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Very happy to see Areruya doing well, even if slightly soured by that earlier time loss. But that's the kind of performace you want on that stage

As cunego said, the fact that I'm not wetting myself with joy at the fact that Areruya's mountain debut as a maxed rider involved beating multiple 84MO guys is a bit sad but that's life when you do stupid shit like lose time on a bumpy stage Love that despite that he's still beating stupid Padun in white jersey atm
Brilliant from Higuita to get into the KOM lead, perfect tactics from the team after he and Areruya lost time and hope he can keep it up tomorrow. Other acceptable tactic would be to stay with Areruya to try get a stage win but would prefer him to defend his jersey A good sign for his many non-Areruya races too as this is what I want him to be doing, he has such perfect stats this year to be in that Egger/Sergis-type of role chasing stages and KOM jerseys.

Very good stage by Olivier. First following the attack, then having the energy in the top5 group. Losing a few seconds on Guldhammer not ideal, but nothing too bad yet. Gaining on Goday, Yates, Cattaneo a lot more important.
4th in the GC now is looking promising, in especially as the final stage looks similar as this one and the next hilly one should suit him actually.
Herklotz aka "The Cheat Code" doing what he does. No one able to challenge him without Lecuisinier, Phinney around.
Depth wise Ciccone still can`t really live up to his 77 mo, barelly riding better than a 75 mo rider, which unfortunately sees Olivier isolated a lot earlier than hoped. Luckily depth this year is good enough with 3-4 other riders in big races to help out there a lot better than in TA. |

Bold move from Dombrowski, but wasted too much energy and now he'll only fight for third. A bad day for the team all around with Majka and Brambilla also losing their positions in the GC.

What a brilliant tactical display. Thank you SotD.
Textbook stuff there the entire climb.
Start at the front, latch onto the first favorite to attack, let him pace you while observing the situation, wait until the first rider catches up from behind, and immediately attack to avoid getting outnumbered and giving either of the two a chance to recuperate or play games.
Of course that's a ridiculous gap at the end, and I feel particularly sorry for Dombrowski for wheelsucking like that.
On the other hand, congrats to Pluchkin for a great ride and to Xero and Carlsberg on their very successful day! I enjoy watching both of you be happy about your plans coming true.
And I second bbl's notion of the high report quality!

I wasn't gonna mention it as it hasn't been an issue so far, but the team behind Silvio has been really disappointing so far this race, and it finally caught up to us.
Sadly a main feature of new PCM's, this inability to coordinate a coherent chase, made even worse on undulating stages with these splits.
I hope everyone involved will do better on the final stage tomorrow and we can bring this home.

Groenewegen and Bewley did beat the AI...
No way the GC riders should have allowed this move and then think two sprinters are enough to bring them back. Most awful +5 day possible for Groenewegen...
From 4th to 7th due to that with the 3 attackers being the lucky ones here really, plus obviously puma to still have the lead...
Tough to see Olivier improving enough now as 6th is probably the maximum... Wheni had hopes of a podium even with that stage suppressed to favour him...
Thanks for the report, quality was great, my team at own fault for ruining the outcome here... |

After cutting it short in a few breakaways, I feared that Vingegaard would blow completely, but it turned out to be a great performance from him. With this being such a long stage, I somewhat fear that he will be a bit short of energy on the last stage, but fingers crossed that he can hang on decently.
Areuya seems like the real deal. Congrats on a great win, jandal!

4th stage in a row on the podium! Third in a row for Guldy. He's been remarkably consistent, especially given his aggression. Awesome to watch. Aranburu showed up today too to finish 10th after some hard work to close down the break. Every day a different one of our superdoms showcases their talents. If this was PCT, I'd be wishing the same guy was going for secondary GC, but don't have to worry about that here. Every guy can save their energy to go hardest when it matters.
The split on stage 3 is now vindicated I think. Even with Roglic as the counterevidence, I doubt Guldhammer and Areruya both get away there with so much leash if not for the deficit to Herklotz they already had. As is, it was extremely strange for the peloton to let them go up the road by that much and put sprinters on the front to chase. If Herklotz somehow loses now, that would be extremely frustrating. I still think he'll beat Roglic easily though.
Edit: Oh yeah, and we now somehow lead the team competition in a PT climber's stage race. If you had told me that two years ago I wouldn't have believed you.

It’s going to be a long season if this is the level of de la Cruz. Boy what a dissapointment.
And I who thought he couldn’t sink lower than 20th. He sure proved me wrong.
Still not a single rider bothers to attack. Ouch!

He's here!
Similar to bbl my hard feelings about stage three are gone now. Very nervous for tomorrow but super excited too. What a ride that was today to announce himself to the top level. This season I wanted us to leave with great memorable rides and our pride intact, and these are the moments I dreamed of for that goal. Brilliant!

I'd love to hear PCMs thoughts about the Evonik tactic on this stage because that looked kinda weird. Why would bring Vosekalns into the break but don't even try to pick up the KoM points? And not trying to follow attacks in the end? I guess to save the current GC situation? Not sure if i agree with the plan but as long as Stoltz prevented Vosekalns from having to work too much in the break, i guess one could see it as a way to defend that top 20 GC?
Spoiler That said, i love that we attacked in the first place. That has to be the plan with our lineup here so well done.
Congrats jandal <3

We are too weak to do anything. Also that guy who let Roglic go has to be really, really stupid. What a moron.
Also love the podium, great to see the right riders finishing on top of this stage! And congrats to Xero for a massive win.

Well atleast we tried this time around. Still a very very dissapointing race for us.
19th in the GC is very uneasing from de la Cruz when he's mainly riding his own chances. Bongiorno could have done better and that wasn't the idea when "swapping" them. Mavrikakis not even in the top 50 here makes me wonder if investing in making him 79MO is worth it.
Only rider to show what I expected is Giannoutsos.

Dropping from 7th to 8th is not ideal...can`t really complain about Olivier as he tried it all and showed he was strong once again.
Nothing wrong to lose against Herklotz, Dombrowski or Morton really. But he shouldn`t have lost against other riders on that passive stage 7.
25th Koep is excellent today, just only top100 by Ciccone shows the missing mountain support.
Unfortunately a lot of missed points here, which hopefully won`t matter in the end as there shouldn`t be too many missed opportunities in my leader`s races.
Late top10s in both PN and TA won`t score you a lot.
Thanks for the nice reports! And congrats Puma for the deserved and in the end dominant win as also to all others, who got something from this race, in especially eBuddy for that late and well earned Dombrowski push forward. |

Good to be done with the triple Under 200 points I believe for the three races for us, so really not much to see, but at least some good performances here and there, with the stage results here in T-A being the highlights from the triple. Vingegaard dropping a few places today, but all in all a solid debut race from him.
Congrats to cio on the GC win!

Lots happened on that stage, very well reported, just as the while race was!
I'm happy that Godoy tried a big move. He didn't get Roglic levels of luck but he made it into the Top 10 GC, and I am happy with that as the first immediate benefit of his training.
