Stage 2 Kraftwerk had confidence in Moazemi and Bol did a great ride on the front, mopping up enough points to go into the KOM jersey! Moazemi finished strongly for a great 3rd place. Sadly team leader De la Cruz couldn't keep the wheel and lost 43 seconds.
Stage 3 Better day for De la Cruz finishing 8th in the first group, up to 9th on GC.
Congrats to roturn and thanks for the reports redordead.

Well that's really frustrating, I felt it coming that Bennett would undershoot here but still it shouldn't be happening. Not over yet though but a big blow.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Nice AI there. Attack with 50+ km to go, get a couple minutes gap, and then sit up to get caught in the last few km

Martin staying out of trouble which is all that really matters. Although, given we don’t have a sprinter, I wouldn’t mind seeing someone in the breakaway.

Aegon came into this race fighting to avoid relegation. They'll leave the race as a mid-ranked team. Chapeau!
Great racing there from ISA and Degenkolb too to secure himself a stage win. One more for the sprinters, before we should get the GC deciding stage on stage 6. Looking forward to follow it all! |

Kraftwerk did the sprinters a favour chasing the break but Cav was in the wind far too early finishing a very disappointing 11th.
Bol still thinks he has a chance for the polka dots apparently, we could do with him supporting his leaders rather than in the break tbh.
Congrats Scorchio and thanks for a great report redordead.

Boily did well to take 10th there, albeit no points. Nice to see after Nizzolo fucking up once more by missing the time limit on stage 3.
Stage 5 will be all about survival, and then hopefully stage 6 can be somewhat decent.

Better from Van der Sande there, and nice work from Kamberaj to set that up - a promising sign ahead of him replacing Van der Sande next season |

It was great to see Zoidl trying to win the stage. It would have been a brilliant way to move close to the expected points for him, but it wasn't meant to be.
Fortunately for Boily the stage was ridden just slow enough for him to cling on to the wheel of Senni and get s.t. as the big guys.
The upcoming stage should suit him much more - and on paper he could climb a spot or two in the GC. I do fear that the stage is a bit too difficult though and suits the climbers better.

They last two stages didn't really were as ideal as possible without big stage points or time gaps, when Olivier could sit a lot saver in his support by now .
That said, no one was able to close the gap neither, so all fine.
Support wise hugely surprised how low Velits is in comparison to Machado, who is having his best performance here. |

Awful positioning there... Almost ruined it.
Just from his real sprint in the end he actually looked strong and did pass lots of riders, who then we're given a time gap even.
But the back of the group position did cost him a better stage result. Quite sure if being in a top5-10 position under the Flamme Rouge, the podium works have been the minimum here if not the stage win again.
Not sure if having a weaker struggling rider protecting him did make him drop due to blocking.
One more stage to go. |

Sorry for not being active during the race. It's been a steady and solid GC race from Iturria and we've been active in the breaks. Serrano very close to a stage win as well, so all in all we're quite happy with the race given our lineup.
Hopefully we can do something on the last stage as well. Solid race from Oliver and Aegon. They were under quite the pressure before the race, but he's lived up to it.

Jesus Boily. WTF was that? In first position with 1km to go and then losing 1’30”? That wasn’t exactly what we came for...

Such a hard race for us, as to be expected really. Two stage podiums are ok and Kennaugh is in the top 20 GC as well but Engers alarming inconsistency means we may get even less than what we hoped for originally.
Hopefully he can turn things around in the last stage really.

Abject from start to finish by Carthy. 2/5 on goals it is, and the title race drags out for a little while longer. |

What a boring couple of GC stages in terms of action from the big guns. Very very disappointed to see Martin lose time for nothing and drop from 5th to 8th. Sums up our season really.
Thanks for the reports!! Wish there was more attacking riding to report

A couple of very strong results in these last couple of stages with Goh and Gesink. Still, there's no getting around the fact that this has become a catastrophic race for us.
Anyway, there have been some terrific reports there, red, thanks for the effort!

Idiotic to throw away the second half of the race that much in terms of stage points.
But in the end this was still one of the best races for our team all year. It was always expected to have a strong final part of the season but the latest races didn't work out as good as hoped, but luckily luck turned around with TONE and now Maroc. Great performance by the team and Olivier in especially.
Thanks for the reports. It was a brilliant read. |

Our PCT journey has ended and the Adastra N Hell Energy Cycling bows out with a Top 3 finish on the final stage of the final race where we were eligible for points
