Superb stage from Gallopin! Expected this stage to be more selective, but good for us that it wasn't! Hopefully we can defend the top 10 now. I think it should be doable looking at the relatively easy profile, but you never know of course.

Mmm okay, some places climbed in GC for Eddie, keeping the U25 ofc, and Mosca getting into the GC Top30. Would be nice if we can join the breakaway in the final stage, probably Mosca is too close in GC to be allowed, but he would be perfect for the stage

....
That was the perfect stage for us.
Until you mentioned who the two Puma riders in the second group were.
??????
Stüssi would be 6th overall now if we swapped his result today with either Vasyliv or Niu.
I mean.
Great stuff from those two, particularly Niu is insane for a second straight year and keeps being worth at least twice his wage. Shame he's far down in GC.
Teams classification would be an incredibly unexpected bonus.
I was right about the MO stat influence.
We can score rather well here if we stay similarly attentive and proactive tomorrow.
But why?
Why do so many of our good rides come with a "here's how this easily could've been even better" lately?

It's another okay day for Nepomnyachsniy. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Hopefully it's not a stage for GC shakeups. I'd still love to see us get in the breakaway, but that's probably even less likely now with our GC position.
Phinney wraps up the overall and Hagen gets a deserved stage win, congrats

Good stage result from Kwiatkowski! Happy with the stage result, especially as a potential GC result after the TT was gone.
The final stage feels like one for a breakaway, fingers crossed we can join the action up front. |

Well that was dissapointing... I guess we won’t attack no matter the situation.

Awful performance once again by De Bie...really not sure what to do with him.
10th in a TT heavy race obviously not even too bad. A lot though also comes from stronger time trialists being dropped on day 1 already.
But that on 2 hill stages you can`t get a proper gap to many riders is just not like a 84 rider with decent backups should ride. On the 4th stage he was in the selective group but then coming in as last from those to avoid getting stage points.
Today he attacked! Which is a big bonus. But attacking from a 60-70 rider group is not useful really. The team should have been strong enough to at least deliver him a podium or win on one of those 2 stages. But he simply rides like a 79-81 hill rider instead of a 84 puncheur.
Have paid far too much into him, when I really should have spent this money into riders, that already did perform decent.
Thanks for the coverage and congrats to a well deserved and expected Phinney win. |

Nepomnyanchsniy lost one spot in GC to the break, so it's not the end of the world. 16th is a good result and one he is well capable of, but sometimes he loses way too much time on random stages and underperforms in TTs, so this is a welcome sight
As expected we put no one in the break again even though it was pretty certain there's where the win would come from. Boeckmans holds on to 4th in points standing and Poljanec creeps into the top 50 for a few more points. So all in all it's a good race for us
Congrats to Croatia on the win and thank you Abhi for all the nice reports

Happy with race. Würtz did good to hang on in the climbs and a good podium in the TT. Stake Laengen back to his best level again and some decent depth rrsults. Congrats on the win, Croatia!

Happy with how that stage turned out. Brilliant to get a 7th place in the GC. Gallopin hasn't really been as good this year as he was the last, so nice to see him have a successful race here
Also good that we managed to have a rider in the winning break. Impressed that Veyhe managed to stay in touch over the hill tops, but his sprint was a little bit underwhelming. Would have liked to see him use his flat/acc skills and attempt a late attack, but I suppose he might not have had a lot of steam left in the engine.
Congrats to Croatia and thanks for the reports!

Kinda lame stage results once again, Howard could have done better. Other than that, I'm pleased with Bobridge continuing his good season and taking another GC podium. Didn't expect Keizer to be ahead of him and would have preferred an attempt on that final stage, which was always going to be a less selective stage though. With the breakaway taking it easily, it was clear there would be no significant gaps in the main group.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to the winner(s).

Mmm nice to see Cristian in the breakaway, and it was a nice attempt to steal the stage win before the sprint, but at the end we get 0 points of the break

Been a bit inactive lately so read up on this race first now. Dissapointed in the timeloss Buchmann got early and after than pretty much a breakaway race for us. Quite nice with the last stage, even though a stage win would've been great.

Great performance by Kangert! 6th in GC is way above my pre-race expectation.
Bibby also shows that he's still a capable rider and Geoghegan Hart shows his promise again.
Thanks Abhi!

I was a little bit disappointed at our tt result with three top 10 favorites and only one just barely making it. Luckily that one was Brändle who needed the good tt the most. 5th in the final GC is a decent result and about what I can ask of him with this startlist. Additionally getting the KoM jersey with Sirironnachai is a great surprise. A great wrap up of one of the best months of racing in my team's history!
Thanks for the great reports Abhishek and congrats Croatia on a calculated win! |

Thank you for your reports, Abhi!
Our highlight here is definitely Foss taking third in the U25 classification. Fingers crossed he can build on that moving forward
Congratulations, Croatia! Phinney doing it in a dominant way, really, eventhough the gaps in the TT were small. Well done! |

This is just not Air France's season. EBH dropped like that on an easy stage ... on home soil.
A couple of stage wins don't quite make up it. Disaster. |
