Kump going in for the kill a second time, what a predator! Congrats again WJ.
Outstanding performance from my man Merlier. His best result ever. Quite unexpected too. He's never done anything remarkable and is completely by himself in this race as the team is completely geared to help Gesink in the hills/mountains.
Anyway, the real race starts now with the last 3 stages. Fingers crossed for our Dutch leader!

YES KUMP! Back-to-back victories means there's a minor chance that we get to take home the points jersey depending on what Bennett and Gesink gets up to in the last 3 days. Regardless I think we can be satisfied with the outcome of the race so far and can sit back and watch the big boys play out the GC fight!

If there was one way to describe our perfomance in this race, "Dumb and Dumber" would be the way to go

Preidler is such a weird rider this year...no idea how he can lose that much on plenty stages not showing a lot of interest.
Also Slagter was a weird one here, while in general it`s weird to see strong riders dropped when there is such huge group left for the mountain sprint. |

It was a mistake signing Preidler and I am not sure if I can keep him around. Heine was right.

Xero is going pretty strong for such a doomed team..
Senni doing ok, but that attack was a bit silly

that was a wack stage. I needed time gaps to help with TT, but looks like top 3 wll be nigh impossible to hold on to

Lucky here to not being given a gap to the front group, so Dunbar is still in contention for the GC podium. Obviously S6 is scary, but Eddie has been looking great so far, and if he can survive it without losing time, or limiting his losses, it would be huge

Pretty strong stage from Warbasse and Fabbro, about the best that we could hope for. It was nice seeing them attentive and at the front all race. But the lack of any time gaps made that performance pretty useless for GC, with so many guys on the same time.
Guess the mission now is to keep Warbasse with the leaders tomorrow and then maybe try for a surge into the top 10 with a good TT - although Warbasse has been surprisingly weak in TT's since he joined the team.
Commiserations to ivan, Preidler should have done much better.
Thanks for the report!

Six riders all on +40 seconds, the TT is key for David De la Cruz securing a good points scoring GC place.

Kind of disappointed with the stage. Not with the result in itself but more with the fact that it didn't provide sizeable gaps.
Another dominant day for Xero. That was really impressive. Bennett is growing fond of that yellow jersey. Congrats jandal!

Just stunning Brilliant team performance, up there with and probably surpassing the launching of Roux's GC raids in San Luis 2017 and the dropping of Krasno + Bennett leadout in Japan 2019. Absolute control by a surprising amount of our team sticking around and disappointing that the gaps we created weren't credited. Still very happy with Bennett's finish on top to grab some seconds and more points, and Meurisse and Areruya both finishing in the front group again is brilliant.
Looking ahead I feel even if Bennett (with his support) is top dog tomorrow, something which I'm in doubt of, I don't think it will be by enough to get the gaps we need before the TT to Gesink and Cattaneo especially. Think if he gets a top 5 at the end of the week, with Areruya, Meurisse and maybe even Bester picking up other points, plus top 2 in points and U25 and the various stage and yellow jersey points, then that's a very good points haul and our season goal here secured.
Best case scenario I can see for S6 is actually just staying with those two and Denifl, gapping other dangers like DLC and Dunbar and finishing in the podium spots for more seconds and maybe securing the points jersey. Even if he's been able to win sprints thanks to team strength we've got no evidence he can break away from the nominally stronger rivals. Could be fireworks tomorrow or another bunch sprint, I'm hoping for the former for GC reasons but also wary of a collapse that could come from it. Very nervous and excited for it

Congrats to Xero! Sadly this means we won't take home the points jersey, but happy for Jandal!

Two men show so far, well done whitejersey & jandal7!
Betancourt is desperately trying to do something, but without any notable effect. Tomorrow, well today, is gonna be his last chance to shine here.

Honestly, I am starting to regret Preidler's signing. Sure, he finished in the lead group, but not only it was too little, too late, but he did absolutely nothing in this stage. At least there's Robov to rely on activity in the stage. Relegation is inevitable and that's not a good thing in terms of roster building.
Anyway congratulations to the winners and Nemolito for the report.
PS: I know this may sound like a silly question, but why is Kim Le Court referred to as 'she'?

To be honest, I just read it in one of cunego's reports and decided to change it in my report as well. I have read before that ManxMissile managed to sneak in some female riders in the game, so I suppose this was one of them
