Barguil for Guldhammer, Ahlstrand for Zabel/Guardini, Bewley for Trentin - I guess you did a good job here
Fabbro is a great addition as well, adding great support for Warren - I'd have loved to get him as well, but just couldn't. Quintana is a good asset as well - although I still hope you'll let him go next year so I can complete the family (or we swap Nairo vs. Barguil, wouldn't say no to that either )
What worries me slightly though is that your formerly strong TT department is almost entirely gone - I hope it won't come to haunt you in the end! Although personally I'm happy that I finally got Balloni one year later than I hoped to
May Cissé prove to be as valuable for Ahlstrand as he was for Guillén and Reinhardt the last two seasons!

Nice looking squad and I think you are well set up for a return to the PT. Love the acquisitions of Bewley and Barguil (can't say I wasn't interested myself ). Look forward to see how you go this season.

Really strong leaders, and good home for Fabbro. Hoping he will be a great right hand man for Barguil, potentially for a few years.
Obviously we were incredibly thrilled you decided to go in the direction you did, as Guldhammer and Trentin will be our main pieces this season. Glad it all worked out how it did.
So, from Mapei 2020 2.0, good luck to Mapei 2021!

I think the 4 leaders are all very good and especially Buchmann might profit from the weaker puncheur field this year. The depth is also pretty good with riders like VDP, Fabbro and Destribois all well suited to attacks.

Incredible turnaround, I'd go as far and say you should at least be Top10, more possible with some luck and smart planning.

Lovely looking team, VDP really fits in well with your team.

I agree that you've made the jump to a PT level squad again quite easily, with a Top 10 surely possible with good planning and a bit of luck, particularly regarding whether Bewley can still make front groups and how Barguil is used.

Very nice development indeed, and seems like a good shot at staying up by quite a margin. Further development will be needed in the future with Bewley already in decline and Ahlstrand not all that young - but for now you'll be safe and sound

The end
I joined this game in 2010, same year I got together with my wife. I married in 2012, still playing this game. Got my masters degree, my son and my first real job in 2013, still playing this game. Got my daughter in 2017, still playing this game. Got a new job in 2018, still playing this game...
Now we are talking 2022, 12 years (and 1 month) since I made my first team thread. My activity has been declining for the last few seasons. I hoped that a change after the last promotion in team composition could turn it back on, but alas My interest in real life cycling kind of dissapeared many years ago as well, which might be one of the reasons my motivation left me.
Thank you for the fantastic work done by the admins and moderators to keep this game alive
Thank you for all the good memories, all the good chats and all the good laughs. The members of this game has been a part of my life for 12 years, and I am really happy for the time I've spent here, talking with complete unknowns from all over the world.
From the start with a small scandinavian team lead by Løvkvist and Kessiakoff, trough promotions and relegations I have had a great time. Great memories include my 2 wins in my first season (Sabatini and Vaitkus) to promoting by winning PCT, to Taaramae winning TDF and many many more.
I hope this game will continue for many years, and maybe, maybe some day in the future I suddenly get time and motivation again and start up with a new small team, but until then I would like to wish all of you all the best and say some big thanks to all of you.
To the end of Mapei, T-Mobile, VolksWagen and Telenor-SAS

Sad to see you leave, Heine. At least you can go out with the monument win for the king himself in Roubaix. Thanks for all your effort over the years. As a fellow Norwegian, we have of course been in transfer talks a lot of times, even though we never had the biggest deals between our teams. Enjoy life!

Always have enjoyed the offseason talks we had about riders, transfers etc.
Will definitely miss those.
You`d been a long, long part of the MG and managed a very likeable team, which not only this season but already in the past saw a lot of competition with mine as well.
Hoping to see you around here and there still but most important all the best for the future with your family. |

While we might not have had the biggest rivalry on the road, we constantly seemed to clash on the transfer market and I will miss all those talks sparked by that and the way we constantly could bounce trade ideas between us and get creative.
All the best to you and your loved ones!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

I don't recall us ever talking or making deals in my relatively short time in the game.
Still I wish you all the best in the future

Oh man. This one hurts… I’m really sorry to see you leave the game although I Can easily follow your reasons having a lifesituation and timespan in the same relative spectrum.
Thanks for all the chats, deals and discussions throughout those 12 years, and I wish all the best for you and your family! I sure do hope you will drop by from time to time, and if the game exists in the longer future (I unfortunately have some scared feelings about that), that you will rejoin the game and community.
I will surely miss having you around, and as part of a rapid decreasing long-long-term members list I really feel sad about this news.

Really sad to see you go. I always loved your teams, and you were always a great manager to work with and talk to every transfer season. It goes without saying, but I'm only getting to live out my MG dreams this year because you helped me make effectively make my team Mapei V2 . Of course, it also hurts to lose any team with such a long and storied history, but obviously real life comes first, and you can't force it.
I wish you and your family all the best!

Wow this is super sad to read, you'll be missed a lot! A true legend of the game and always a pleasure to chat to and deal with. Hope your team lets you go out with a few final great moments in the rest of the year

Very sad to see you go. Loved our chats regarding transfers and otherwise and always knew I could bounce ideas off you when required. Like others have said, have always admired your teams and I think you built a very likeable one this time as well
Hope you do find the motivation to come back some time in the future. All the best for real life!
