The non-sensical 2 positives and the team's out rule has been scrapped. Good thing, no idea what kind of bureaucrat came up with that bs.
Probably because 2 positives with a shared team bus and hotels probably means 8 positives plus staff? Big risk.

Hopefully this.
Plus Landa gets exposed for the farce that he is.

Why the hate? Landismo will never be exposed.

I really dislike his posing in the victim attitude. He goes to teams where he knows he won't be the leader, but then he moans about not being the leader.
Now he is finally leading a team heading into the World's biggest race and we will see what he is really made of. And in my opinion he will not deliver. But we will find out in three weeks

Would have preferred if he had stayed with Astana but Sky and Movistar moves wern't too bad in itself, just didn't work out each time and he had some bad luck with crashes and being unnaturally strong in some races for its 2nd peak.
I would love but doubt it that he can challenge for the Tour but maybe he can ride into form for Giro or Vuelta. He is a master at the 2nd GT of the season.

So what does everyone think are the chances of the Tour actually lasting the full 3 weeks? France seems to be struggling to control the virus at the moment. I can see it being cut short. Or at least not finishing in Paris with the last stage cancelled.
Some teams have already started talking of trying to take the Yellow Jersey early in case the Tour suddenly gets cancelled half way through.

Just my 2 cents on this.
Why trying to force it before it even started...move it back another time or cancel for the year. I know there are lots of jobs, organizations, companies involved losing lots of money.
But so it is when forcing it and making the situation worse.
Right now it doesn't feel realistic to make it 21 stages and with the situation becoming worse again, not sure it should even try to.
Paris Nice already felt wrong to me. Atalanta Bergamo in CL shows what negative impact a sport event can have. |

My top 3:
1: Pinot
2: Bernal
3: Dumoulin
Think Roglic peaked too soon, just like Porte and Fuglsang other years. Dumoulin lacks much more time trial. Bernal still can not keep up with Pinot in the mountains and on time trial.

If they can keep it to essential staff only, it could work. If they do their VIP stuff, allow spectators to gather and don't control the press properly, it's going to be a huge fail. It's up to the organisation basicly.
The biggest problem I think will be the local mayors. If one of them says "not in my town", it's game over.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

This. Unless there is a nationwide (or European-wide) calamity called in the next three weeks, I think the Tour can ride for 21 days if the needed tight precautions are respected. Otherwise, local governments could be the main “issue” here - which is not really an issue of course when the health of a town is at risk. |

Ok prediction:
1. Pinot
2. Buchmann
3. Tommy D
If Pinot doesnt win this TDF he never will the route is literally made with him in mind. Even final ITT is at his home

I don't know how to judge Roglic/Bernal shape, but I really hope that Pinot can get it, as he probably is my favourite GC rider, and imo he deserve it.

Yeah, normally I find it quite funny watching the great french hope fall out of contention in the first week. I do actually like Pinot and hope he has a good race.

Would love to see Tibopino on top. Not sure what is funny about the french drought tbh, but its time that it ends.

I do as well, but I think part of that rests for me on the fact that the "French hope" is almsot always a B-Tier contender that the media makes out to be the second coming.
Pinot has a legitimate shot on this route and I hope he can pull it off against the superteams. But first he has to prove he can stay on form and not abandon for three weeks.

Landa kind of reminds me of Sastre back in the day in terms of ability but never really putting it all together to win a GT. Maybe this can be Landa's 08. He just needs to stay close and then have a +5 day on the Queen stage like Sastre did.

Yep, come on everyone. Velogames is running a Tour game for the first time in a couple of years due to legal reasons. Who knows if how long it will last if the ASO lawyers start looking into it.
The deadline for entry is 13.45 CET, so lets get as many entrants as we can. It's a good way to make watching the race more exciting if you are rooting for a handful of particular riders you wouldn't normally support.
