Martinez listened, partly as he did not go for the KoM. 19th in the GC probably means he won't get into it again, but we have Haga and Ivanov left.

Mixed feelings here. Monsalve is having his best race of the season so far, and if he can hang on for a top 5 then I'll be delighted. On the other hand, Yates puncturing potentially cost us another rider in the top 10 and we need all the points we can get - especially with Van der Sande having a pretty underwhelming race so far. |

Not a great outcome from Dombrowski. Everything to be decided the 8th stage now. Losing this race two years in a row would be absolutely embarrassing for both of us.

Bit embarrassing effort from a 77 MO, Hacecky. Guess we still have the KoM.
Impressive from Wellens and good to see that our podium dreams are alive

Good enough effort by Garby I guess. Knew he couldn't be best in the break despite his mountain. Just hasn't worked this season for him.
Tremendous report Ulrich! A real beauty and great to have so much detail throughout.

Weird stuff. That would have been the obvious breakaway stage on paper. Surprised the sprinters recovered so easily.
Glad Vanspeybrouck is still trying. Unfortunately it's for naught.

Garby went for it. There's not much else I can ask for at this point. he's just unbelievably weak, so it doesn't really matter how hard he tries. It sucks, but he's proven he's just not a useful rider in this game.

Stage win will just about salvage what is undoubtedly a poor race from us. Meintjes really didnt do well in the decisive mountain stage and the hill stages just didnt produce the gaps we needed despite the fact they showed promise... :/

Points are points, and 21st for Martinez is not that bad assuming nothing happens tomorrow.

It looks Dombrowski will get the GC in the end. The breakaway winning this one means that he won't be taking the points jersey as well, but that is a price I'm willing to pay for the GC.

Damn, was hoping Areruya could get a stage win to salvage something here but Kennaugh was always going to be a tough guy to beat with the 3MO advantage. 2nd is nice but still this is an awful race. Bester should have won from his break earlier but too tired I guess. Grmay awful. Thanks for the great and consistent reports though Ulrich

And he wins it this time. A bit disappointed with how the rest of the team performed (except for Boswell's effort in the stage won by Dombrowski), but we have the GC so it doesn't really matter
Thanks for the reports!

Shame Formolo lost three GC places in the final mountain stage, but he did achieve our pre-race goal of finishing top 10. And Sosnitskiy in 14th and Vervaeke 19th are satisfying results as well, winning us the TC in the process.
So despite us being somewhat anonymous here, we leave happy because this amount of points will certainly help us in the battle for the PT win.

Well, that was a better race than I was expecting from us - and for the first time all season I think we're outside the relegation zone now!
Monsalve has had a nightmare season, but was absolutely brilliant here. No shame in being beaten by Dombrowski (congrats Alex!) and a stage win as well as plenty of extra points makes it a good race for him. Shame about Yates puncturing as he'd have been in the top 10 otherwise, but I came here expecting something like 5th and 12th, and I'm pretty sure 2nd and 18th scores more than that
Thanks for the reports Ulrich, they were a great read and at a nice pace as well! |

Thanks Ulrich for the reports, congrats Dombrowski and alex!
Overall, not a bad race though I wished for a bit more activity from the Minions.

Thanks for the race Ulrich and congrats to Alex. A little disappointing that Amador was only able to manage 7th here, but it just wasn't decisive enough on the mountain stages to make a difference.
