That's a completely wasted stage for us. No-one in the breakaway, and no-one able to hold on with the favorites. The best thing about this stage is that Masnada is still in 15th position, and hopefully the long climbs tomorrow suit him much better.
But this race probably wasn't worth a trip, given the really mediocre results so far.
Thanks for the report anyway

Really not happy with Bazhkou losing time there given the riders who didn't. Dyrnes keeping and extending the KOM lead is nice, but a lot of points lost there...

Why do I even bother...

Freuler!
We've definitely been very lucky with breakaways lately, but I think we've sent the right riders to those races, too. Today's win compensates for the lack of activity on the previous stages - and it's what finally makes this race a success for us!
Three riders in the GC points is cool, even though it'd have been nice to get a Top 10 GC. But we probably don't belong there yet on this level... Have to wait for a maxed Masnada
Congrats to Coppel on a great win. I didn't expect him to get that one tbh, but it's surely well deserved after his consistent performances.
And last but not least, thanks to jph for the reports!

Glad to see this terrible race (for us) is over.
As depressing as it was to read, thanks for all the reports jph.

Wow, this race didn't go well at all. What a shameful use of race days
Congrats Coppel!
Thanks for the quick and steady reports jph! |

Disappointing end. JvR did what he could but Claeys was a massive let down here.
Thanks jph for the reports and congrats Carrefour!

Great racing by our academy product Marko Pavlic, shows how horribly wrong our decision was to let him leave, Adriatic sadly too quiet this time, Pfingsten and Mygind not perfectly working here and too few breakaway attempts.

Stan why... really thought after S3 this was the race he would get back to at least what could be expected if not his 2018 form, but another fairly poor outing, even though since he got some points I guess it's not his worst. Dyrnes with his best race of the year with the KoM jersey which shows you how dreadful he's been, but it's nice at least Shame he didn't go today though I guess.
Congrats maxime, well all know Coppel is a beast but, well... Coppel is a beast! And thanks for the reports jph!

Very happy with 4th and 6th in the GC. Had a small hope that Ignatiev could defend his 3rd place, but that was always going to be tough. Great team effort all around, with De Marchi, Hermans and Hofstede also having a good race. Nice to win the team classification for the second time in a short while!
Congrats to maxime and thanks for the reports, jph!

Well, that ITT was bad for us... But still, 15th is quite decent for Prevar, points I will happily take.

A good finish for JJ here with 7th, though I really wish he had been more aggressive if he had good legs.
Ultimately, I think we actually lose points on the final day due to JJ moving down two spots in KOM. It was definitely his best race of the year, but the TT hurt too much. 17th is not gonna get it when a close competitor relegation wise won the race.
Congrats to Carrefour and thanks jph for the great reports!

So happy with this dominant victory with Coppel, makes me feel worse about complaining about him a bit this year... but not really haha
Thank you JPH for the amazing reports and thanks everyone for the kind words, really appreciate it! |
