Mission successful here with another podium and beating Lierse on another stage. Didn't think AKA would have much because he was in the wind so long. Luckily his flat has come in clutch. Gotta be infuriating with Gaviria not sprinting.

I'll take 4th their for AKA, especially with no Lierse rider around him. Seemed like he had the perfect wheel sitting on Ciolek and then inexplicably lost it, but I'll take the result regardless.
Very solid race for the team so far. We're doing what we need to do as best we possibly can. Tomorrow is an important day. it's the last mountain chance for Garby to be aggressive and go for KOM/stage first off, but it's also important because it will likely decide whether AKA can finish the race. Him staying in for the final two sprint stages and the points standings will be crucial.

Of all the times the AI letting me down this year (wrong designated leader, Waeytens being passive, etc), this is the race I will remember most. It's just fitting for our season I guess, Gaviria being compeltely disappointed we'll drop to the CT so he won't be maxed out for another 2 years at least.

Fantastic job Jurgen, fantastic!! Over 60 points collected by him so far without Goss performing too well. Hard to imagine a better start of the race. Also quite surprised to see Rodriguez going into the breakaway given we both have a top GC rider and a top sprinter in the race

Happy with Vanderbiest finishing 3rd, hopefully this leads to an upward trajectory for him for the rest of the race. Last 3 stages are good chances to close our season well so hopefully it happens! |

Drapac again with a good sprint, just not as good as the first day.

Thank you for the report, roturn, and again for the pace
And finally! Must say I enjoy these flat stages when our train works. It's really nice to see Obviously nice to finally succeed winning a stage as well, with Ciolek delivering on the third try.
Hopefully Beltran can have som luck with his daily form on the upcoming Queen stage. If he can be within striking distance of the podium before the hilly stage, I definitely like his chances seeing his performance compared to the more classic GC riders on the first hilly stage. |

Super meh stage for us. Kudus still Top5 in GC, but i really hoped for a GC podium that is not going to happen now. At least Jurgen has made up for the points not won by Kudus doing just fine, not great. Valens and Stefano doing a great job with depth scoring so far, which bring us so far the Team Standings. Would be really important to hold that lead, 20 extra points are always welcomed

Dombrowski doing exactly what he was supposed to do. Great ride. Hopefully those 46 seconds will be enough to stay in the lead after the last hilly stage as well.

Velits is likely not staying with us so I was so excited when I thought he could bade us farewell with a magic stage win, triumphing over the climbers leaving him behind just once, defiant despite his awful early form, but it wasn’t to be sadly Still though, fantastic ride to grab the KOM win (?) and come so close to a wonderful stage win, great ride!

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Disappointed Garby could make it in the morning break, as it was his last chance to go for the KOM and a stage win. Judging by Velits, he wouldn't have been close to making it anyway, but it still would have been nice to see.
Instead he actually put in a very solid ride considering the field to finish 16th and in the same group as 13th. Problem is that ride is fairly useless since he's out of the GC fight already, and Senni moves up the GC slightly.
That's the unofficial end to Garby's season. He wasn't great, but considering his level in PCT, I'll take his results. He hasn't been performing, but that's no exactly underperforming.
Glad AKA made it to the finish. Hopefully he can make it over the hills tomorrow and grab some more points.

Well... a stage win is good, and the overall GC is still possible, but Sicard should have done better on that mountain stage. Might have thrown the GC win away right there by not even trying to follow Dombrowski. |

Ouch, that was slightly too much time lost for Beltran. 30-40 seconds less, and it would have been good. Now, a podium looks difficult, and also even a top 5. |

Drapac going backwards in the sprint. One chance left. Hopefully someone in the break tomorrow.

Meh, breakaway getting the win just when we don't have a men up there after two days having it. Green Jersey still in the fight, "just" need to beat Ciolek in the final stage and Sicard/Dombrowski to not win the hilly stage. More likely a Top2/3 that would still be good points

Big fail their from AKA. I understand feeling the pressure to go early with Van Aert up the road, but you have to stay cool and minimize the damage. Especially with the points competition at stake. Really bad result.
That's a lot of points we just lost. I don't keep track on a point by point basis, but it has to at least make up for any gains we might have made this race if not more. 2nd-19th is a giant points difference compared to the 4th-10th we were putting up earlier. With GC points still coming for Lierse, I'm only hoping for a wash at this point.
I can't complain though. Lierse were due some good luck.
Edit: Just realized Pelucchi in 8th as well. Not looking good for us.
Edit #2: Guess I've always been way too oblivious to ranking points for way too long. Didn't realize stage points aren't even granted to the entire top ten.
