Happy Stuyven keeps the KOM jersey. Nice to see Eg be aggressive, but was weaker than he should be.

Better from Costa on Stage 6 but the time loss on Stage 5 might be hard to claw back. Great win for Skuijns

Could have gone without losing more time, lucky it was only 20 odd seconds

And here I thought Brambilla's season couldn't get any worse.

Quite disappointed again. We really need bigger gaps because with mountains and those tt kms left but there is so little seperation so far. With a bit longer final climb the next stage could be crucial for Skujins if he wants to stand a chance in the GC.

Everything's gone downhill on the hills. We're not gonna get much out of this race unfortunately.

Very nice to get a stagewin and some time prior to those mountains and timetrial... it won’t be enough, but maybe a top 15 overall... I would have liked to see Vasyliv do better, though!

Thanks for all the reporting! Interesting to see the puncheurs that far ahead, I think they may take it all the way!

Well, stage two was supposed to be for the sprinters but then Bobridge happened. Wouldn't be surprised if the cobblestone specialists will dominate the mountain stage.

Wow! Awesome win!
Almost as ideal fo a stage for us as we could get. Stuyven going in the break, extending his KOM lead a bit, and then finishing it off with a killer move to take the stage. I have to say, he hasn't always seemed to be very strong when he's been in the break, but today he was strong enough. And Pons getting a top 10 is icing on the cake!
Only item left on the agenda is to keep that KOM jersey tomorrow! It'll be tough, but we're all in!

Not surprised to not see any decisive action on this stage but boy is this race a disappointment for Evonik. I thought it was a smart decision to go here but it has been one long string of disappointments from Skujins. Only shimmer of hope is that this was always intended as one time visit with MA Lopez the leader for next season if we participate here again. Now the fall in gc...

Too bad Ackermann isn't quite ready yet. Already next season he would have been quite a good bet for some decent sprints.
Now to see Koretzky fall apart, and Vasyliv go with him to lose his top 25 and U25 jersey...

This was, without doubt, the most tense stage I have ever reported. There was not a single moment in which nothing happened. I hope to have captured the crazyness well enough, especially in the first part.

Absolutely insane stage, and a terrific report! Thank you Marcovdw!
For us, there wasn't much going on, but I'm overjoyed that Stuyven was able to secure the KOM jersey! I didn't think he could pull it off with how many points were available in the mountains, but he did. |

What a fight by Boswell. He looks set for ninth overall now.
Brambilla very disappointing. How he managed to finish behin Boswell amazes me. He could have proved to be of great help if he would have hanged on with the American.
