Duarte in the top 10, that's a good thing and about where I hoped him to be. Not sure which sprinters are left but Pozdnyakov might actually get a shot in stage 4 by now

That stage was destructive and Plu really showed his dominance early here. Nazaret already 5 minutes down in 8th shows this fact. I can't hope for much more than a Top 10 GC so hopefully he can hold onto that. A bit disappointed to see Borisavljevic dropped fairly early but he clearly struggled with the intense pace at the front. Bouhanni dropped isn't a big surprise. Lobato remaining should mean he may have a decent shot at a result on the other flat stage if it doesn't go to the breakaway.

That was a surprise
Decent from Keizer, should be hard to fall out of the top-10 from here. 3’ down on Mr. Moldova and Denifl isn’t ideal, but a podium is still very much in reach. GP and Augustyn achieving some decent results here too is lovely
Thanks for the report!

Top 5 is the aim for this race and 5th place is what Henao delivered. Already a big gap to Pluchkin. Hopefully Henao will keep fighting for the podium. Krieger DNF so we don't have anyone for the other sprint stage. That's a waste!
Congrats on the win fjhoekie and thanks for the report Tamijo

Good job from Denifl. Pluchkin won't be beaten in this race so it's great he already built a decent gap to all the other climbers. As long as Guerao is not racing my team actually seems to be doing quite decent. |

Great stage! My team performed better than I expected, though that's not saying much. Pluchkin with the deserved win, as it should be.
Garby looked pretty strong there with a top 10 finish! I expected more in the later teens range for him, so this is a welcome surprise. Of course, I don't expect him to hold that GC placing as the guys behind him are fairly close and have better stats for the most part, but still a fun day to witness.
Huge list of abandons that I was not expecting. We only lost Tiller, as Appo managed to just hang on inside the time limit. Now I can only hope he does the same on stage 3. If so, stage 4 would be very nice with a lot of the other sprinters gone. But let's get through stage 3 first.
Amazing report Tamijo!

A so-so performance by Úran on both stages. A decent result but a lot of lost time on riders who are better but still this is a lot. Then on the next stage he finishes in the group with Pluchkin and Denifl but then riders who are behind him finish ahead and gain time.

Senni doing ok, no complaints there.
Gaviria not that good in that first sprint, but a lot of sprinters dropped out (including 5/8 for my own team on stage 2 ), so I hope for some points tomorrow.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Stage 2 was not ideal, losing 6 minutes. Stage 3 is bittersweet. Its tough not to think, what could have been, if I had kept Gilanipoor, but obviously a great result for him. Shikai also moving up and making up for a bad stage 2, is quite good. Can only hope its more of what we saw on Stage 3 from him, from now on.

Hmmm. Appo abandoning really sucks after getting my hopes u when he survived stage 2. Alas, that's the breaks. 6 wasted race days will not help me later in the season. That seems to be a common theme in my planning this year.
Garby on the other hand put in another decent result. He gets leapfrogged by a couple of guys behind him on GC, as I suspected. Still, I'm more than happy with where he's at here. Could be much worse.
With Appo out, it would be nice to have someone in the breakaway for once going forward, although I doubt it will happen.

Ji has had a couple of decent rides in stages 2 and 3, but the fight just inside and around the top 10 remains tight after the top riders who have already separated themselves out. Koshevoy major under-performance on stage 2 was a bit odd, and had hoped might therefore see him in the break on stage 3, but not to be (and was below expectations again). Had expected both Koshevoy and Brandt to at least be in the top 50 with De Luna an outside chance. As is only Brandt backing up thus far. Still a long way to go here, hope Ji holds his form.
Plu-bear with the expected dominance in stage 2, and in part surprising not to see a repeat on stage 3. Gaps up front already starting to be quite signficant, but still a lot to unfold I'm sure.

Great stage for Xero there to somewhat makeup for Stage 2. Congrats jandal
Henao putting on a show for the home support with a fine 4th place on the stage and moving up two spots in the GC. But while we gain time on the top 2, Kudus has gained time on Henao, and that could become a key battle for the podium now. Also expecting a fightback from Uran in the upcoming stages. So we're not resting on our laurels yet.
Thanks for the report Tamijo!

It seems like Kudus was in the perfect GC place to do this move. Far enough so Pluchkin doesn't get worried, but close enough that he moves up some places and is now a factor in the podium fight
He's starting to make me feel like this wasn't a planning mistake. Now tomorrow's he goes through the flat stage safely, and then only two big mountain stages left to secure a GC Top5.
Wouldn't have minded if Pirazzi had been in the breakaway, because he's been so little into the attack so far this season despite his 85 fighter stat, but the great depth of the team here, as we didn't send a squad to East Java to completely focus in Colombia is paying off so far, with 3 riders between 20 and 30 in GC, and Pirazzi in 40th, while also getting really close to the Team standings lead.
Congrats to jandal for the win after that terrible first day with Velits, but you need to stop getting wins the days that Kudus finish second And great reports Tamijo!

What a fricken ride! That is an unbelievable solo win on a brutally hard stage leading to a long MTF, for 80km and over 4/5 climbs! Gilanipoor you beauty! Grabbing the KoM jersey and a big GC leapfrog is a cherry on top.
A good day out for Velits, as in ToME it looks like one shocker will cost him dearly in this race. Unfortunately yesterday wasn't a two-minute loss to his rivals but five to six minutes to the other top5 contenders, and he's lost more to some of them today. If it were he would have just halved it to some but the most we can hope for is top 10 if he continues to be very good, which would at least accomplish our goal.
Tosh survived today, very good news for us. Haven't checked who else of the sprinters did but hope he can be in the fight for victory tomorrow. He seems to like Stage 4s, based on the one of them he has done Hope Velits and Gilanipoor can rest up and go for the top 10 and the top 20 and/or KoM on the last two days.
Thanks for the report Tami!
