Good to see Caruso & Zingle finish ahead of the bunch but losing a fair chunk of time to the main favourites. Hopefully one of them gets into a mid stage attack at some point. Bit disappointing to see Le Gac dropped and losing over 5 minutes as it means he won't be getting a decent U25 result. If he can join breakaways now I won't complain too much though.

Not great, but not too bad either. De Bie looks super strong though, will be a tough ask to beat him. Congrats on the win, roturn!

Sagan coming from behind to almost steal the win.
Sagan dropping behind in a peloton split to later rejoin and attack to only lose seconds to other biggest favourites.
What a lovely and crazy race so far. Big thanks for reports! And congrats to tastasol and roturn for wins.

This race never disappoints, does it?
GC contender Costa riding out of his skin there. 7th place on the stage is brilliant in a field like this! Dieteren finally showing he's not completely useless. The other Costa still holding on to his KOM jersey, although I hope he gets into the break again soon. Nava with a decent placing on the stage. This stage was great for us.
Congrats on the win roturn! And thanks for another great report jandal

Great reporting throughout, this has been an exciting race. Congratulations to roturn for De Bie's well-deserved victory here. Trofimov continues his gradual slide. hopefully he can make some up in the TT and stay in the top-10 overall.

Klemme doing good again, now in the GC top-10. Hopefully he can hang on until the end.

Thanks for the great read. Was worried that de Bid would be losing in the end but great to see, that his attack played or well and he got a deserved win here.
That is what I need from him all year.
Also in PT races and not just PTHC. |

Good to see Costa doing so well in this race. After a year full of bad luck and many falls he is demonstrating that he can still compete with the best. It seems to me that he is currently a serious candidate for the podium

Been away for the weekend, but nice to catch up on four stages now then. Must admit it was a cold shower to see Beltran dropped in the TTT, as I expected him to be able to follow with the team I picked there. It also makes the GC look bad after three stages when it's this close, as getting the same time as the team in the TTT, would have seen him sit 6th now.
For stage 2, I can't ask for more from Beltran. Being up there and on the same time as most contenders is good. I just hope that one day he'll be the Sagan rider on such a stage, making a move and punching above his weight.
Stage 3 and again he seems to struggle slightly with positioning. He looked strong in the sprint together with Sagan, but I suspect he sat slightly too far behind to follow the Bakelants group when they pulled away. Perfect racing by De Bie, congratulations on a huge win, roturn!
The following hilly stage doesn't look to be a selective one, judging by the profile, and so I fear what the GC will look like after the TT. It was always going to be a tricky race with Beltran's weak TT abilities, but loosing an extra 53 seconds in the TTT looks like it will really hurt our GC ambitions here, as we might have to settle with a top 15 now.
Thank you a lot for the reports, jandal7! I've enjoyed them a lot now that I could catch up, and very nice to see three of them already |

Excellent third stage for me. Those stage points are important in a race with such an tt impact and Skujins looked like one of the strongest today. A bit bigger gaps would be good as well but im happy with how the stage was raced
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Still shocked by the TTT... a pity we once again fail to benefit from a key stage here. Bobridge doing well then, but those lost seconds will hurt eventually. Would be nice if he keeps hanging on with the best - or maybe even manage to be the best for a change..

Encouraged watching DMW on the attack.
Need Scheit in the break on the next stage to keep his KOM challenge going.
Great reporting jandal

Decent TTT. Ginanni dropping was expected.
Great result in stage 2. Very cool to see so many Gazelle riders at the front.
Stage 3 was quite dissapointing, but not devastating. We're still in a good position to score quite some GC points.
The reports are amazing so far, jandal.

Another podium and getting a bit closer to De Bie. That's good! A bit worried that Bakelants used a bit too much energy though, just hope he won't be more than a minute behind after the ITT.

Rui's outdoing himself on every stage so far! Hope he has a good day in the TT too. That could see him propel up to a Top 5 maybe? Wow. Never thought he'd be this high at this stage and fighting for stage podiums in this field. Just 2 more stages to consolidate on this now. Hopefully I'm not jinxing it!
Congrats on the win knockout and thanks for the report jandal

Another decent stage from Beltran. At least he's up and around this season. Though, points wise, these stage results aren't giving a lot, and seeing how crucial the TT now seems to be for the GC, I suspect there won't be that much in this race for us.
Looks like we'll have a thrilling fight for the overall win though! Bobridge must be the favourite seeing how he has ridden the hills. He should lead the race after the TT, and if he can hang on to the best puncheurs like he has done so far, it should be his race to lose.
Congratulations on the stage, knockout! |
