Vesuvio does it again! Wins a Hilly classic with a breakaway rider, just as the race I reported last year.

Wow... Well, congrats to SN - what an unbelieveable win! Hard to swallow for me and my dreams of EBH taking the win in his first race for Air France.
Always hated Norwegians. |

Disappointing race for Gastauer, and it is always annoying to see a breakaway win a hill classic.
However...
Spoiler GODOY!
Thanks for the (probably reluctant) congrats. Lucky day indeed.
You'll be glad to know that this was Godoy's only hill classic of the season

Time to congratulate, always fun to see a surprise winner. Congrats SN
TVG on 9th was dissapointing, McCutcheon with a surprise result great and gives us some extra points Already a great loan in that!

Well, it was two seasons ago actually, and it wasn't a Vesuvio rider. (Although I did sign him when Bpost left)

Come back to Daily after the break: CHECK
Notice that MG season starts: CHECK
Visit the race report to see if ridicilous PCM AI is still the man-game immersion killer: CHECK
Laugh hard to see that everything is still same, with random bloke winning and 100 riders finishing together in hard hilly classic: CHECK++++++
On more serious note, enjoy the whole season guys, especially my old PT mates, i will come here and there to check how SotD is doing with his rebuild, to witness Bewleys immortality as OP legend or how Cio is sculpting the Demare-Herklotz twin headed monster. Have fun!

Altur goes right from the hill competition thingy to here and shows himself in the breakaway. Runs out of gas (understandable) and the breakaway wins. That stings a lot. We could have got random points out of this race, but no.
At least TVG underperforming and finishing 9th somehow eases my pain.

Congrats SN for an annoying win.
De Bie apparently in the good section now with the training. Third time here, first top 20 and actually 6th best of the regular riders.
Unlucky that Gallopin couldn't stay in the top 15 area then but still strong and exactly what I had expected that he is the best support. With Zardini additionally in most classics, as also Boom at times, support will become better.
Thanks for this report and finally a good season opener for me. |

I'm fine with a breakaway win; that should always be a possibility. Congrats SN!
A 120 rider mass sprint in a tough hilly classic is utterly pathetic though.
Bad start. Hope it gets better from here.

24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Congrats to SN for taking the first win. I would not have expected Ramos Ticona to land a top-10 instead of Trofimov, but I will gladly take it!

Good to see you are still around mate - Hopefully the rebuild works well enough to keep me from relegating hehe

Fluke race as has become traditional. Had Godoy not attacked I'm sure Claeys would have taken it. Positive 100%
Congrats on taking 1st blood SN. Thanks for the report Tamijo!
