Another surprising result and race development on the cobbles, which is interesting, eventhough the racing here was a disappointment.
Well done to SPAR - Shimano and Bikex for making the most of it, but Mresuperstar must also be considered a winner here, looking at their hunt for promotion and a very nice points haul with that 2-3.
Also another great report, thank you, jandal7! Must say I feel the quality of the reports are generally very high so far this season, which makes it even more entertaining to follow the racing
An anonymous 40th from Grand isn't exactly what we would have hoped for but the route and the way it was raced really didn't suit him.
It is our first 0 pointer so far and if we can limit them then we should do alright as the season progresses.
Nice to see both my youngsters helping SPAR to another win, Bohli has been apart of both of them so far, even if he didn't play a major role in this one I think he still contributed early on.
Very odd the way this race developed over the distance, and then response of sprinters vs cobblers in the finale. For WCC, Bush in 10th was around par for our expectations in this field, although assumed if he achieved this the race would have been broken up at least a little more!
Slightly randomly our young Ivory Coast National Champion Sanogo also featured just outside the top twenty to bag an extra couple of points. This ensured we had an overall return of 19 ranking points from this C1 outing, just falling short of the teams generic C1 race target of 10 ppRD but that can be stomached, particularly after two races in a row with nil points from our sprinters had started to erode management confidence!
Bit of a meh result in Ghent - Wevelgem... Bakari lives up to his cult hero status with flat last in a cobble race and Ngandamba just not up to the same standard as the others...
Well done bikex on the win and thanks jandal for the report
Wow, what a great kickoff in our cobbles campaign, looking at the latest rankings, our level of performance went downhill afterwards. Bringing a former winner with Daniel I naturally had reason to believe in a good result, just didn't think Nepomnyachsniy would be the one to deliver.
Thanks for all the congrats and yet another great report by jandal.
