England go 4 points clear at the top of their group. Scotland away next which was always going to be the toughest game seeing as it'll be Scotland's World Cup Final. Positive result there and we'll be qualified.

"F**k off, your mother's c***,"
Apparently that's what Lionel Messi screamed at the linesman to get banned. It doesn't even make sense I assume something must be lost in translation.
Either way, Argentina will struggle to qualify without him. I was looking at their team that started against Bolivia last night and I couldn't believe how average their team was. They used to have World Class players throughout.

Well, it's cost us one big tournament and likely another, but at least the KNVB is cleaning up some of the mess with Van Oostveen and Blind already gone. Hopefully Van Breukelen will leave soon as well.
Is what I was about to post with lots of confidence. Then I remembered that there's a decent chance that there may be a combination of Henk ten Cate and Ruud Gullit as coaches.
Let's hope that we at least find a trainer who understands that a combination of players who don't give high crosses and a striker who needs high crosses does not work. Yesterday seemed better at least. Players weren't running around with a plan, now they had a plan, and still failed, but at least a bit less And yes, I really laughed when the 1-1 was scored less than a minute after the 1-0. Feel free to laugh along with us Dutchies. We're getting used to it anyway

Yeahy! 3 pts agains France at home in Stockholm!
Girouds 1-0 was a beauty, but Lloris mistake in the 93 minutes was disaster for France and Toivonen scored from half plan. |

1-1 for Wales, but they should have been beaten easily by Serbia, another draw makes it harder to qualify |

It's better than a defeat. I didn't think you had a chance without Bale. You've got 4 winnable games left so, while not quite being completely in your own hands, it is definitely not out of your own hands.

We have to win all four to stand a chance of qualifying |

Not sure what's there to discuss, the best team doesn't always win, that's the beauty of football.
Belgium qualified last night by the way, 8 points ahead with 2 games to go.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

The best team should beat Luxemburg at home though.

France was very good against Luxembourg. Brazil only team that can threaten them in Russia next year.

This qualification campaign has been facsinating to watch right around the world. So many great stories and surprises. Gonna need to go over the European results tomorrow and fully digest the next phase of play-offs.

Yeah, incredible that Iceland will be in the World Cup. Even more incredible is that their commentarist is still alive

I must say Sutty (even though you seem like a thoroughly decent chap) that following the boasting of many Welsh fans after last years European Championships (an open top bus tour for finishing joint 4th!?!?!" your failure to qualify with your golden generation has raised a few smiles back in England
Still, at least your not Scottish. They don't even have a decent rugby team to soften the blow
Fingers crossed for Argentina to fail to qualify and it'll be a completely perfect qualification competition, even with England's utterly pathetic performances throughout.

I think when your team has, not only qualified for their first major tournement in almost 50 years, but then reached the semi-finals in said tournement the right to celebrate is very much deserved!
It's the same situation for Iceland, but you don't go saying they went over the top
Better than the entitled and whiny fans that comprise most of Englands base, who go on and on about '66 despite the fact we suck consistently
Still, at least your not Scottish. They don't even have a decent rugby team to soften the blow
Did better than England at the last World Cup, i'd be careful

On the England Wales debate, from a neutral PoV...
Just this once, and this is very rare from me supporting the English fans, maybe they are right in having a go at Welsh football because of the way the latter team celebrated Iceland beating the former at the Euros last year (viral video is available, in case proof is required). Karma, as they say...
