Dan gave himself every chance but defo fair play to Count who has bought a really decent sprint team here. I don't really rate his chances for stage 3 but Dan can climb a bit so I am hoepful he gives it a go.
Anyway I have to be happy with second podium of the race. Great start.
I don't really get why Aker put it in for Feillu rather than Enger, that looks like the big loser from that sprint. Always tense these little flat cold bastards in Paris Nice.

Great win from Boeckmans, after great help from his train, congrats Count!
Guardini 5th is good, shame he got boxed in there and could not move, his spot looked ideal for a while. But i will hapilly take 5th, at least something from our weaker lineup.
Thanks for the report!

Great sprint from Boeckmans after a proper leadout. Congratulations, CountArach!
Very surprised to see Feillu mix it and grab 8th, but it is kind of annoying to see Holst Enger not even try, as he should have been up there fighting for a top 5. Hopefully he just had a bad day.
Thank you for the reports you're putting out, sgdanny. Great to have two stages each day from both Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice! |

So many crashes and somehow Gesink stays out of them. Here's to a full season of that!

Luckily avoided those crashes. Sometimes it's better to not see our micro jersey at some point in a race..

Holst Enger saved his energy yesterday it seems. Good for Aker, the lead changed.
Groenewegen also on a nice 4th after yesterdays weird backwards sprint.
On the negative. Daan Olivier clearly is injured seeing him almost last today. This sucks for Keizer`s support. But at least (hopefully) Keizer himself seems fine. |

Bah - nice attempt but Holloway didn't have it. Nice try, now we have to sit back and hand over to the race battle.

WTF! (x2)
All GC hopes gone. PCM hates us and seems determined to consign us to the drop. |

Good sprint from GVA. He justifies his selection here!
A bit of a shame that Chavanne lost time as he could have work some jerseys on the next stage...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Good effort from Krueziger to gain the jersey and give us a nice start of points grabbing a few more efforts like his would be great !! Unlucky for all those involved in crashes |

Ufff, perfect start for me in this race. Thankfully Velits without any crash after a decent prologue. The only bad decision - to not to send Howard here.

This was certainly a bumpy ride! Stage 2 looked so good from Coquard and the sprint was timed perfectly - it seemed... Only to see Coquard miss out on the bonification seconds by such a small margin. Fuck!
Then on stage 3 we start out by seeing Coquard crash. Fuck! Then Lecuisinier crash. Fuck! Then I see that both are in the peloton and trying to do something in the sprint. Then I read that Coquard are being blocked, Fuck! - Then he takes 3rd and the leaders jersey! Oh yes!!!
So far it has been a very nice race, and if Lecuisinier isn't injured then it could be going fine for the remaining also - But we have to be lucky that he isn't injured.

Damn, favourites dropping like flies. Somehow Madrazo managed to avoid them, I'll see that as a sign of good form. Sucks that there are injuries though.
Holst Enger going crazy fast there Congrats ember!

Wow tough stage that one. This feels like a real battle of attrition.
Boeckmans did just enough to hold on to the green jersey, hopefully he can hold it for another couple of days now that we have hit the tougher terrain.

Brilliant!
Really cool to see Holst Enger win in his first season maxed out, and what a way to do it. Must admit it felt like the gap was too big to let it slip seeing the picture with less than a kilometer to go, and then it was just amazing to see he held off.
That win makes this race a success for us, no doubts about it, and anything in the coming stages will be a bonus. Hopefully we can show the jersey in a couple of breakaways.
Thank you for the report, sgdanny! |
