Congrats on epic stage result, dippo!
After two really dissapointing races its tastes extra good with a decent stage here
I'm liking the Anton-Brajko duo so far atleast
Couldn't have gone much better, with both our top guns finishing with the best and some big threats like Intxausi losing time.
Now to take full advantage of the hilly stage stage and cause a selection and hopefully drop some of the weaker pucheurs (like Keizer...). Landa should hopefully be useful for Brajko here and potentially Anton aswell to atleast drop some of the -73 hillers.
If we don't manage to dropKeizer he'll very likely be the GC-winner.

Great first stage, always a bit disappointing to come 2nd but happy in this field. A nice win for Cornu as well after a disappointing time at Bayern Rundfahrt. A good TT from Kwiatek as well.
The mountain stage was less than ideal for us though. Kwiatek losing 2 minutes isn't great, and I don't know what Samwel was doing. Hopefully we can recover on the hilly stage and follow up our success there in Eritrea. |

Big congratulations, Dippofix! Nice to see Contador being right up there as well, I really hope he can shine in his national champion jersey.
A very good start for Keizer, and he must fancy his chances now as he's with no doubts the favourite for the overall if he can survive the hilly stage, but that might prove more difficult than he likes. Looking forward for the report, tsmoha, and thanks for the first two |

Keizer did well. Same time as best. Olivier was quite a surprise in the break. Just like Aru in top20 in the end. Okay for those.
Not ideal that Schädlich is DNF. But I did not expect him to perform well in the long TT anyway.
Thanks for report tsmoha. Tomorrows stage is the toughest I fear... |

Goodness me, what a disappointing stage that was. Absolutely no movements from the favourites until the final 5 KM, even then there was hardly any action. I have noticed with this PCM in the mountains that if you have a real favourite that doesn't really mean salt, unless its over 21 days perhaps, presumably daily form can knock a 84 MNT rider to level pegging with 79 MNT rider on a good day? Sure, looks like it anyway. Keeps it unpredictable, I guess.
I suppose we have to be happy with a 5th from Contador considering what else could have happened (Intxausti bewilderingly losing 1'21).
After seeing that result no stage is safe from the breakaway blight, but we already knew that.
Thanks for another report anyway. |

Happy with the way the race develops the first two stages. Maillet and Cataldo did a good job in the mountains. Got beaten by a few equal or lower valued contenders, but finishing with Abal and Valls is nothing to be ashamed for.
Was an exciting read, tsmoha. Thanks so far.
Gratz to the Banks of Ireland, what a strong team performance!

Thank god!
Was really afraid of this stage with the recent hilly stages in mountain races. Keizer did really well here to limit his loss and even gained on some riders.
I guess having huge support of Aru/Olivier helps as he isn`t isolated too early. Good then as he will have this young duo with him in every single race.
Now please win that long TT, take over yellow and go into the last mountain stage. Please please please.
Forgot: Now a stage win for Krieger please?

Eastman and Bennett doing absolutely nothing. How the hell is Nepo and Kwiatkowski ahead of them at this stage? PCM AI seriously fucking us in the ass.

Well, I was certain that brajko had 76 hill not 67...
Can't say losing time to the weaker puncheurs is what I had hoped for..
A podium might even be out of reach now, which is a massive dissapoitment.
Our bad season luck continues it's seems.

Sub-par performance by Talansky in the 1st mountain stage, and not heaps better in todays hills, but at least clawing back into the top 20 GC; still hope for better. Agudelo and Ardila Cano about what expected. Battle up front betwen the top hitters boiling up nicely though!
Thanks for reports. Across the MG the rapid pace since the start of the season is most welcome, and appreciated! Regular reports really helps with building the atmosphere, although I apologise if it means that I am not keeping up with replying in all the threads across the divisions - certainly reading along with great enjoyment .

Good ride for Nepomnyachsniy. Not sure how good the others are in a TT, and what the differences will be, but somewhere around 5th/6th seems plausible I guess...
Kashechkin unsurprisingly dropped a few places but he's still in contention for a decent GC, and some needed points that way.

Yeah, not least in the breaks. Yes breakaways should win from time to time but not practically 50% of the time + above. Especially in the way they do.

It feels like Intxausti has injured himself, but more likely he has some curse on him.
@ Scorchio - Does that mean you will finally set up a team thread for this season?

Nice resistant ride by Diniz and Contador putting in a great ride there, liked that move a lot. Nice to see Bonsucro and Prio Porto right up there together after plenty of transfers between our teams in season 1! |

Much better from Kwiatkowski there which moves him into top 10 GC contention, although, he should drop down a few places over the next couple of GC stages with the long TT.
Thanks for the great reports tsmoha. Not liking the AI though with 2 breakaway wins already.

Oh yeah, so here the peloton actually wants a bunch sprint? Great. Stage wins left and right, jerseys left and right, GC's left and right.

I hope Rujano doesn't loose that much time in the TT, to grab that top 5 in the GC. |

A great top 5 there from Kwiatek, maybe he can grab the points here again? He's turning out to be a decent sprinter in these races. Manfred in the break is nice, although thought he might have a chance for victory at first with so many break wins. Congrats to BPost on another stage win though.
Now for the two tough stages for Kwiatek, especially the TT will be tough. I wish the final stage was hilly tsmoha, but I guess we'll have to make do with a much tougher one. Thanks for the reports. |
