Wow, what a start from Evonik!
Hopeless results from us, with Docker not even sprinting. Good effort by Trentin, a shame that he couldn't make it to the line.

We are leading PT
As always interesting opener here. Evonik went full retard though. Never go full retard. Awesome stuff. Baugnies <3 Already delivering superb place.
Shame Houle didn't try anything as he's so similar to Dzamastagic, but Feillu and Wippert scoring us some points, overall nice start.

.... and count down to cio's reaction! Good god what an almighty cluster...
Evonik deciding not to set up sprint train perhaps contributing though a late attack winning is a bit of a blow to the sprint classics hopes. Big boost for Evonik though early on in the season.

aargh, to bad Kvist didnĀ“t was right on the wheel when the sprint started would have been a nice way to start the season with our win goal done
Nice to see the team active all through the race, glad we got lucky in this hectic race with 3rd and 11th.

I'll take 10th place for Vanoverschelde. Not happy that neither Nelson nor Soupe nor Greipel could bother for a top100 placing.
No comment on the AI. Always great to see it in action right from the off But well done to Evonik on capitalising.

So wait when you said Keukeleire was sprinting it was really Stallaert? I'm kind of disappointed that Stallaert was my dedicated sprinter though 12th is acceptable. Particularly with a lot of direct rivals not doing particularly well.
Huge congratulations to Evonik.

Wow this really was an amazing start to the PCT. And how interesting to see Evonik sending two guys to the attack, while having Boonen in perfect position for a sprint result of his own. 1st, 5th and 8th is a MASSIVE result.
Very surprising to see how difficult it was for the sprinters teams to control this. You have to think that most teams would have fancied a sprint instead of the breakaway, but it was not to be. Great race from a neutral point of view, and from Festina-manager point of view it was good to see that no Pro Tour teams took good points from this race either. I guess Quickstep did the best with 25th, which is a bit surprising really as the PT teams should have stayed awake and sent a guy with that break.

Quite a race, and big congratulations to knockout, what a start for them! Also cool to see Swebank get a big result, eventhough it was probably not with the rider they expected.
Thanks for the well-written report, FroomeDog99, covering the late action well.
And if that's how flat classics roll this season, I'm happy Boasson Hagen will take part in a couple of them |

Now TomTom's having a 10 race break or something.
Bayern's next up, so 63 points for us in January it is.
