First updated provisional startlist is online. Already filling up nicely, even though there are still a few notable names missing. With the first teams confirmed, it's also time for some short Bay history lessons and previews..
Compal Merida Taiwan based Compal Merida will make it's first appearance as a full ManGame-team at the Bay Crits. Lining up with an all-Oceanian team here, there was no question to invite the team riding in it's own colors. The palmares of it's riders is quite impressing, too:
Chris Sutton (overall winner of the Bay Crits in 2013, grabbing three wins in four races), Michael Matthews (shared 2nd at the Bay in 2014, including one win) and William Walker (16th in 2013) make for a roster filled with Bay-experience. Matthews should be one of the top-favorites for sure and Sutton (leading him to his line honours in 2014's final crit in Geelong, finishing 3rd by himself) is already a Bay-legend! Rider | 2013 Overall | 2014 Overall | Notable results | Michael Matthews | - | 2nd (18 pts) | 1 win (2014 Rd4) | Chris Sutton | Win (36 pts) | 12th (8 pts) | 3 wins (2013) | Trent Lowe | - | - | - | William Walker | 16th (5 pts) | - | 6th (2013 Rd3) | Jack Bauer | - | 13th (7 pts) | 4th (2014 Rd3) |
Matthews will aim for the overall victory after his runner-up last year..

I don't have acces to the db right now, so I'll nominate every eligible guy by nation I have, except for McCarthy. I assume they should all be eligible stats wise too.
So, they'd be:
Damion Drapac (is 80 SP still eligible?)
Sam Bennett
Isaac Speirs
Philip Lavery (he's on loan at Metinvest, so not actually sure if I should be nominating him)
Dominic Jelfs
Martyn Irvine
Tim Gudsell
Damian Shaw

Nominating:
Mitch Docker
Nathan Haas
Calvin Watson
David Tanner
Will Clarke
If you want any "spares":
Michael Vink
Zakkari Dempster
Edit: Oh, and that Compal team just looks amazing
Edit2: Switched Vink and Watson so that it is all-Aussie squad.

It's really nice to see my continued support of the series result in me getting my own team this year, will it also mean that Zamri Salleh can wear his NC jersey?
P.S. I'm loving the first preview/ team introduction, I can't wait to see other teams.

Wow, thank you for the preview!
Looking forward to follow our Aussies, maybe also the Kiwi can be a good leadout man this year in the crit-bay series |

I was actually thinking of using your Malaysian NC shirt as a special gimmick/shirt for your whole team here But it's up to you, of course, which combination you prefer.
@sutty/all: As long as I haven't confirmed a team with a preview like for Compal, don't consider this startlist as 100% accurate. Eddie Stobart, for example, ain't garantueed a spot yet

That sounds like a great idea would be nice to see it challenging for wins here as I doubt the youngster wearing it will challenge much during the season unless he's out in breaks as he's still developing.

Fox Sports - Golomt Cycling The cycling world welcomes a new Aussie based team this year: Fox Sports took the opportunity to take part at the Bay Classics and we're happy to see the young team showing itself here. The team lines up with an experienced squad, though lacking too special results at the Bay so far:
Veteran Allan Davis scored a 7th place in the opening crit through Geelong last year, but didn't enjoy any more success after that. Anthony Giacoppo didn't score a single Top-10 in two years (with a disappointing showing for Oz Cycling last year), but was a key leadout for Risa - Ergon's Chris Sutton and his 3 victories here back in 2013. He will now have to prove, what he missed to do with Oz last season: being capable of going for stages on his own.
Witmitz as a solid leadout, who was quite impressive in the domestic cycling scene, and a comebacking Timmy Roe will add depth. Former Oz Cycling favorite Sonomtseren Delgerbayar as the only Mongolian on the team, though adding the experience from two years with Australia's new ProTour-team! Rider | 2013 Overall | 2014 Overall | Notable results | Anthony Giacoppo | - | - | - | Allan Davis | - | 17th (4 pts) | 7th (2014 Rd1) | Sam Witmitz | - | - | - | Timothy Roe | - | - | - | Sono Delgerbayar | - | - | - |
Giacoppo wants to bounce back from a disappointing year with Oz Cycling..

I do
But already sending a full Aussie squad here, I'm not a fan of adding more Oz riders. That said, I actually forgot, that we already got two more Chinese riders nominated from Meiji, so we ain't running into bigger problems if no one else is going to pop up
