Strong team, the fight for promotion looks set to hear up with RTP in the mix!

trekbmc & jandal: promotion may seem obvious, but we'll still have to see how things turn out once the season has started
@all: team's race program will most likely be revealed in a few minutes.

Will be interesting to see the results with that schedule, looks like the sponsor goal will suit the team allright.

'Despite the fact that this will be our first stages as a team, we do have rather high expectations from this race. All guys will work for Marco. Hopefully, he won't lose too much time in the prologue so the bonus seconds of (an) eventual stage win(s) will be enough to close this gap. Maxim and Evan receive carte blanche for the prologue though.'

A stage win and a good overall is possible here, good luck!

STAGE 1 | MASSEY UNIVERSITY ITT | 6.5 KM
It's Evan Huffman who kicks off RTP Internacional's history. He's one of our men for today's stage, but he won't win. He will lose 16" at the line.
It's the American TT champion Tom Zirbel | Team Optum who comes with the first target time.
Despite giving everything in the short descent, Maxim Belkov doesn't even come close to Zirbel's time. He just does not have the legs to shine today.
Both Stanislav Kozubek | Bauknecht-Author...
... and former Polish TT champion Lukasz Bodnar | Bank BGZ fail to beat Zirbel's time.
Team leader Marco Haller manages to minimize the gap between him and the winner: only 18".
And that winner is not Tom Zirbel, but Alex Rasmussen | Riwal Cycling Team. The last shall be the first? In this case, yes.

Our day was fine. Marco did lose less than 20", one stage win could bring him into the top 10 of the GC. Maxim didn't have his best day on a TT bike, but we're sure he'll be a good domestique during the next stages.
