A good way to make Alexander Vinokorouv angry is to give him the slightest hint you are doping. He doesn't have a problem, I found out later, but if he knows, then there's a chance it might leak. Luckily I didn't find this out from personal experience, rather watching as poor young Marco Benfatto was searched, questioned and searched again. What's worse is he was clean.
Vino shouted at us and made crystal clear that, under any circumstances, if he found any traces of EPO we were out, and this was a real warning, as we had been selected for the team's only .HC race of the season. Ilya Davidenok smirked behind his back as he ranted, but we all knew Vino wasn't somebody you wanted to cross. Later that night I found one of Ilya's syringes in Marco's bag. And that was one of my first experiences of what happens beyond just taking EPO. You have to maneuver lightly, and if that means getting innocents accused then so be it.

@trekbmc - Unfortunately for Johnny it is...
S1
E3
Tour of Qinghai Lake
Overall the sprint stages look to be a battle for second behind Modolo, who is in-form and has been quietly developing nicely. We are mainly here to deliver Marco Benfatto for the sprints, I am the best in the mountains so I have been given a licence to kill.
Favorites
Sacha Modolo, a powerful young sprinter, the favorite for a good majority of the stages.
Ariel Richeze, the nippy Argentine will always be a dark horse on flat stages.
Marco Benfatto, he is maybe not developed enough here for a stage win, but looks to be there or thereabouts in regard to podiums.
Personal
I want to help in the early stages of the lead-out train, but don't want to take too many risks in these wet conditions.
As we rolled out of the neutralized zone the break of the day was quickly formed, most notably in there was powerful roleur Cheng Ji of Argos-Shimano at his home race.
We weren't required for any pacemaking today, that was being handled by Modolo and his Bardiani team. We could just sit back, relax and admire the stunning view across the lake towards the mountains. I couldn't wait to tackle them.
With 2km to go I was on the front beside the Bardiani train, fourth forward from Marco
In the end we left him on the front too quickly and he faded to fourth. Modolo was so dominant they were considering a time gap. Richeze and a late attack from Michel Kreder who only just got caught rounded out the podium.
Overall a great day out for me but we failed to deliver Marco.
See you guys soon,
Johnny |

Hey guys,
I can see my current style isn't really working and almost nobody is responding to my reports. So I've made out four options for the story:
A) turn stagiaire with Astana after Qinghai Lake and start using PCM
B) Restart with another team on PCM for '14 season (real team)
C) Restart with another team on PCM for '14 season (custom team)
D) Karl Hammarling style
What does everyone think?

Generally, you should just do what you want to do using PCM could be nice with screenshots, but it depends if you can keep up motivation with it |

First time Karl Hammarling has ever been referenced as possible inspiration
Golden rule of writing: Do it because you want to!
Take some time and try out the various styles and see which one you personally like the most. Then go with that as a style and work out your character around that. Just as long as it is something you want to write about. (been a while since i wrote that bit of advice out)
Look at Karl, i'm lucky to get 1 reply per update but it still get's updated consistently(ish) because it's something i want to write. As such because i enjoy it the quality is good, which means people like reading it

Not true TMM.

Also, this might end up a bit [...] Karl Hammarling style
On topic: Do whatever you want, and whatever you have most motivation for. from own experience I can say, if you have no motivation for the PCM aspect, don't add a PCM aspect. If you do, then it can definitely add to your story.

@All Thanks a lot, I think I'm going to restart with another team (using PCM) starting 2014!

Just to add my thoughts:
I was following, but just like with TMM's story, I do not always post comments. The same is with JoeArmstrong's Yates Brothers story. As long as your views count was rising, you know what people were following. It can get you down when it looks like only you are posting in there, but you just need to stick with it.
Play as a team you enjoy, report in a way that keeps you motivated, and write the story for you and not us
