2 ouf our riders started the race at the front as jersey-wearers, our sponsors are really happy about that. However, unfortunately neither Caleb nor Flakemore are wearing it outright, since both of those Classifications are led by Moreno Hofland.
Another lonely day in the break, but this time it is Hugo Houle, trying his luck. It's pretty strange to see no other teams interested in breaking away for two days straight... Anyway, Hugo's lead peaked at 6 minutes, but it started shrinking after the main climbs.
Belkin was at the front the whole day and they wanted a sprint badly. Unfortunately, this meant that Hugo got caught with around 20 kilometres to go. At least, he got the KOM jersey to show for his effort, which is pretty nice in itself. We'll join the live coverage now, 6 kilometres left.
Two teams dominating the front, Orica and Belkin are the ones. Caleb is sitting further behind in the pack, but his position is decent. Hofland and Kruopis are the sprinters in perfect position.
Heading into the last kilometre, Hofland is in a comfortable lead, but he launched early. Can he keep his speed? Yauheni Hutarovich launches too further down the road, while Caleb is fighting his way through from well behind.
Hofland's lead seems to be sure, behind him Alaphilippe and Hivert comes. A duo comes sprinting really fast from behind, Marcato and Ewan are the two! Can they come to the front together? Hofland seems to be uncatchable, but he is fading!
Hofland takes the stage! Behind him, are Marcato and Ewan! Strong finish from those two! No surprise about the win of the Dutch though, he seems to be the strongest sprinter out here.
Nice performance by Caleb, after yesterday's win, another podium! Also, I'm really proud of Hugo's polkadot, these are all huge results for our team! |
