Why new DB is using 14sky(kat,euc...) The game can't see accessories from 2013 DB... It's not good. Why didnt you update folders sky,kat,tst... with new graphics???
U.S. Postal Service (2000 - 2007), Karpin - Galicia (2007 - 2008), Astana (2008 - 2010), Team Radioshack (2010 - ...), Sky Professional Cycling (2010 - ...)

If we had used the same folder names as the PCM13 DB, it'd also use outdated national champion shirts and outdated accessories for that matter.
What your real question is, I suppose, is why we didn't copy the accessories of 'matching' teams and reuse them in the 2014 folders.
It's mostly a matter of time - it takes plenty of it to compare each piece of accessory to the new team shirt. Does it match the new colours? Does it match all the 2014 sponsors? If no, I won't use it.
Accessories are, however, a priority for the V2 - both in terms of re-using what can be re-used, but also in terms of creating new accessories that fully match the 2014 equivalents.
It should be mentioned that the game auto-colours the accessories, so it matches the team shirt, in the cases when no custom accessories are available.

A DB is never really final, is it?
This is what I said yesterday:
The PCM.daily DB team will now move on to the V2 which will include more of the same: more teams, more shirts, more equipment, more stages - and probably a few bug corrections. We aim to release this in March.
To some extent, this will be compatible with existing careers. For example, new stages (like the Tour de France) and additional shirts and accessories for the teams that already have a 2014 folder in V1 will automatically integrate to existing careers when the V2 is released.
Any work on the database - like new teams, stat changes etc. - will not be (automatically) compatible.

There's still three stages missing, so in the DB you will be playing other stages that are somewhat similar profile and length wise. |

I believe stages will only be compatible with on-going careers after the following year (as variants) = if you start a career now and then install the 2014 TdF stages (correctly named to be 2014), you'll still have one of the variants that the game has chosen for 2014 (since columns gene_sz_variant in STA_race/stage will have been filled with the suffix of the variant). It's quite easy to edit that, though.

Tests of the Expansion Pack showed that not enough great young talents were created - and the ones that were didn't become quite as strong as hoped. So we've tweaked that in the new files.
However, it's worth noting that it's a difficult to get right. It requires a lot of testing, so hopefully we'll get some feedback in time to make it even better for the V2. |

I know it's an hateful question, but how long will we have to attend the V2?
I'm waiting since months to start a new career and now everything has to be perfect |

I agree it was an issue but I had created my own workaround so trying to see where that stands for me. I was happy enough with Kent's files as they could create some very nice riders. I had a terrific Australian TT/Classics guy, very much a Cancellara clone but with lower STA. But I certainly agree that there were too little stars. I was in my 7th year of career when I decided to investigate the dearth of created riders starring in my races. I discovered that only 3 of the top 50 climbers (Mountain) in the game were created riders. That pattern was true in the other disciplines and in my 7 year career I had 6 full seasons of scouting Australia and the USA and found 1 rider who was good enough to be a proper pro, clearly that is unsustainable in the long run. so it prompted me to finally learn to use a DB editor.
Firstly though, I used an XML editor to look in the YoungRiderCarac files and found that it was a bit complicated for me to fiddle with without knowing what I was doing.
So then I looked to the Sta_Region table and started to change the %chance of finding young riders of various potentials, this is where I thought the issue was, so I slowly increased the values, each time I was done I simulated three careers then examined the riders produced using the DYN_Young_Cyclist table. I understand what you mean about it being hard to get right I found that even seemingly small tweaks in the Sta_Region table could cause an explosion of talented riders. But with a bit of trial and error I managed to get a set of ratio's I liked.
Of course what I liked doesn't mean it would correspond to what others like but I guess the best way to work out the ratios is to get work out the average number of riders with certain stats/potentials you need coming into the game/year to be sustainable and then play with the ratios until that works out through testing. Obviously we are talking about averages so it doesn't matter if you have three years with zero good sprinters and then get a horde of them the next time.
I have just started a test career with the new DB and I found that it is certainly giving more a stronger pool of young riders, though none with potential 8.
13 riders have Mountain stat of 70 or above, six at 70, six at 71 and one at 73. Of those two have a max Mountain stat of over 80 and only one will fail to reach 75.
Only 1 rider has a Cobbles stat of 70+ and that is 75
There is a rider with 76 TT and 76 Flat
8 riders have 70 or above in sprint but 17 of them have a max potential sprint of 80 or above, which seems excessive.
I like that there are more young talents in the game, it was definitely needed, but I am not sure the balance is correct right now either.
This is just one generated group of young riders, it may not be representative |

Thanks for the input Ogla.
We weren't able to test much before the V1 release, but we did feel that the current set of files were slightly better than the ones that came with the Expansion Pack.
Hopefully, we'll get it even more right in time for V2. |

Very helpful indeed. Let us know what happens, say, 3/4 years in and beyond. |

I think Kaisen should be removed from LTB. He had to retire because of heart problems.
I was also wondering if Vastgoedservice - Golden Palace will be added.
They got a roster of twelve road racers including Kevin Hulsmans, Sven Vandousselaere and Rob Ruijgh. Not bad, imo.
