Wait a second, guys! The current best new team actually has 2893 points.
Agree to disagree. :-P Amazing achievement of course, but far easier races, most hilly races had not many teams competing, can't compare different teams from different divisions, thankfully :-P

My post was mainly meant as funny banter. I'm not interested in a serious discussion about which new team really did the best job. We both had a great season, let's keep it at that.
You do bring up an interesting point though, which I'd like to talk about if we can keep it separate from the above.
I was always under the impression that PCT and CT are pretty connected ranking- and points-wise.
They ride in the same races, they directly compete in the regional rankings and the monthly ranking update features an actual combined ranking for that month.
If I understand correctly you seem to think of them as fully separate divisions?

Well, it does not make sense to compare them ranking wise, as you and Iberia are only teams that could withstand some comparsion and even after that, majority of your points come from weak hilly CT opposition where you have six riders in top10 in the race. (which does not mean your teams are not both great).
For example my team had 0 CT race days and i barely met some of CT teams in PCT races. I can only send my max72 overall riders to match with you, but you can have you 75overall leader there (that is what i dont get meaning of PCT team in CT race, it has enormous disadvantage).
Divisions are separetad by this artifical rule and to other side by benefit of larger wages for PCT.

Herald Sun Tour
The Australian race was always going to be key for the Oz Cycling Project. Surive this season and they will have Bobridge back to lead them (A sight I have been very interested in seeing!) but relegation would not have been part of their plan. Well, they delivered!
Herald Scores
Spoiler Oz Cycling Project | 242 | ING Cycling Project | 196 | Sram - Riboxx | 156 | AirBaltic - Endura | 148 | Hollister Pro Cycling | 127 | Mobil - Castrol Cycling | 64 | Team Bpost | 63 | Evian-MIAT | 54 | Vespa-Aprilia Racing | 51 | Japanese - Korean Cycling Project | 32 | Meiji - Cannondale | 28 | Team Cadbury-Schweppes | 20 | Risa - Ergon | 13 | Cisco Cycling Team | 8 | Amex Pro Cycling | 7 | Sauber Petronas | 6 | ANC Halfords | 4 | Team UPC - Boehringer-Ingelheim | 3 |
Oz climb 6 places up to 21st - within 4 points of regular 'rivals' Meiji. The pair were bottom of PCT last season, but have most likely done enough now to avoid the drop. Amex also scored enough to move past Bintang, which could be good enough for them too.
It is less good news for Cisco and UPC who scored very low here, or CSC-Orbea and Repsol-Cativen who were not present.
Up top, ING halved their deficit to leaders Tinkoff as they move into 2nd. They have the Tour du Faso and Japan Cup to add, whereas the Russians only have Japan Cup. Chance of a dramatic late swing?
A much needed stage win brough Bpost close to Bouygues Telecom for what is effectively 6th and 7th, and both are currently in battle in Faso too, where they can apply pressure on Prio-Porto above them.
1 | 1 | | Tinkoff Bank - Rosneft OJSC | 3887 | 2 | 3 | | ING Cycling Project | 3684 | 3 | 2 | | Team Vueling Airlines | 3598 | 4 | 4 | | Rothaus - Aegon | 3430 | 5 | 6 | | Hollister Pro Cycling | 3352 | 6 | 5 | | Prio - Porto | 3300 | 7 | 7 | | Bouygues Telecom | 3142 | 8 | 8 | | Team Bpost | 3135 | 9 | 9 | | VolksWagen-Mapei | 3044 | 10 | 10 | | Vespa-Aprilia Racing | 2909 | 11 | 11 | | Sram - Riboxx | 2867 | 12 | 12 | | Jaguar - Eritel | 2636 | 13 | 15 | | AirBaltic - Endura | 2494 | 14 | 13 | | HTC Nieuwsblad | 2462 | 15 | 14 | | Metinvest-Emirates | 2459 | 16 | 16 | | Swedbank-PEAB | 2235 | 17 | 19 | | Evian-MIAT | 2102 | 18 | 17 | | Pivovarna Laško | 2089 | 19 | 18 | | Alstom-RBC | 2073 | 20 | 20 | | Meiji - Cannondale | 2063 | 21 | 27 | | Oz Cycling Project | 2059 | 22 | 22 | | Amex Pro Cycling | 2030 | 23 | 21 | | Team Bintang | 2030 | 24 | 23 | | Cisco Cycling Team | 1951 | 25 | 24 | | Repsol-Cativen | 1896 | 26 | 25 | | Team CSC-Orbea | 1870 | 27 | 26 | | Team UPC - Boehringer-Ingelheim | 1862 | 28 | 28 | | LukOil-Rostelekom | 1809 | 29 | 29 | | Team WWE | 1545 | 30 | 30 | | PFG-Armavia | 1360 |
On the Continental front, Mobil-Castrol picked up some valuable points to move back into the Top 10, while Risa-Ergon edged in front of Vattenfall.

Well Oz are almost guaranteed safety at this point.
I'm pretty settled on getting 8th (or as you say, really it is 7th) at this point given that Bouygues are tearing up Faso. As long as I hold off VW I can hold on to this spot and there is a slim chance I could even catch Porto.

It does remain tight down the bottom, but I am declaring it too Oz are safe.
Those CT rankings - actually could be a fairly large amount of teams in the hunt for promotion here so Utah could be really important.

Now that's looking better than all of the previous updates in the past few months! Still a way to go, but definitely a huge step towards avoiding the worst case. Utah may bring oz something about 20-30 points "only", which ain't worth subscribing for such a race, but which is still points
Also quite important points towards the Asian rankings, which Top-5 is basically the only goal we can achieve this year (don't expect us to score a Top-5 in Beijing). Thanks for the quick updates!

Still nervous about this affair. Bouygues has caught us, Bpost might do the same.
Congrats tsmoha, it's looking good for you now at last.

Not good, not good. "Somebody find those 'steaks' for Costa and Barrio. I'm an admin now, I can cover our tracks. SN will never find out."
Beijing and Japan Cup to decide our fate. Just great...

Don't want to wish anyone into a relegation position, but go Oz! So happy to see that they are (potentially) safe!

Tour du Faso
Faso scores:
| Bouygues Telecom | 411 | | Team Bpost | 168 | | Team WWE | 152 | | Metinvest-Emirates | 148 | | HTC Nieuwsblad | 113 | | AirBaltic - Endura | 104 | | ING Cycling Project | 85 | | Team UPC - Boehringer-Ingelheim | 70 | | PFG-Armavia | 56 | | Die Berg Komt Er | 44 | | MTN - World Bicycle Relief | 34 | | Kenya Airways - Barclays | 13 |
PCT:
Bouygues Telecom storm into the Top 4 after this monster points haul. Team Bpost crucially do enough to move ahead of the already finished Prio-Porto.
Metinvest take the lead from HTC in the battle for best 'new' team.
UPC escape the relegation zone, and almost catch up on Cisco.
Repsol and CSC really need a good Tour of Beijing now. Good job they have started well!

CT:
Bad race for Kenya, but they go above Mobil again for now. (Utah still to be added).
MTN the other points scorers, and they move a little bit away from those teams behind them.

Bouygues mega score in Faso drops me down to 5th. With Bejing done for me I need to hope for small scoring of Bpost and VW there. |

Still keeping that mid-table place. Happy to finish here Just need to stay ahead of FC Barcelona. Hopefully the points scored in Faso was enough to fend-off the 3rd place of Nieve in Utah.

I had the same problem you did in Beijing so no need to worry there. VW is the big issue but even then there is no way they are closing a 400 point gap.
At the moment I am just wondering what would have happened if Gautier had actually lived up to what his stats suggest he should. If you add another 200 or so points to my total I'd be in line for my top 5 overall goal.

Terrible Faso, confining us to 11th place which Utah will confirm. A poor way to end the season really, hopefully the new season comes around fast!
Vary interesting battles at the top and bottom of PCT. Looks like Prio vs Volkswagen for that last PT spot, with relegation still in the balance. It all depends on Japan, with UPC and Cisco not scoring as highly there as CSC and Repsol. Should be a great battle.
Thanks for another update SN. |

Top 15 is secured for Metinvest-Emirates, which is more than we could dream for at the beginning of our PCT campaign. Right there, in the middle of the pack, still battling with HTC (sorry Alak, but i wish you the worst possible Bejing after that lucky Faso).
This was our last race, so here comes the time for saying thank you.
Thanks for that perfect updates during the whole season SN and all the other things you are doing MG-wise. Same goes for reporters of course, great job whole season!
Thanks to all teams that made it with their managers active, this game is extreme fun because of you boys. Those who were not active so much, well, they certainly have good reasons.
Our HQ was a desert place last half of the year, i prefered commenting in every race thread we entered and those we did not enter too. But our fans deserve some sort of recap, so stay tuned in next weeks for some activity in Metinvest HQ.
I am looking forward to the new opponents in PCT next year, good luck to those who are still in fight for either promotin, or avoiding relegation. But remember, there is fun in every division for you, so dont be sad and dont take it so seriously.
